We added another Sky Hook to the shop, this time in the form of a mobile cart. This will provide some heavy lifting assistance anywhere in the shop that's portable and simple to use. The cart allows tools or workpieces to be lifted and taken directly to the machine when needed.

The only tweak to that particular Skyhook design (unknown if already an option) is an option to remove/foldaway the handle and use a battery powered drill (similar to speed ratchet binders) to wind the chain up (& down) And A hook on the trolley to restrain the hook in place when not in use (save it swinging around and KTFOing the operator during moving

Looks like a candidate for making useful. Why buy all those weights when buying batteries would weigh as much? Why does'nt it have a remote control (keyfob) servo motor instead of that skyhook plastic handle? Having 2 hands free when lifting loads with 1 finger press is useful. A 4 channel remote & another serrvo motor could allow forward reverse system travel. Or jib rotations. Keeping the skyhook same height but cutting a couple of inches out of the legs would make the upper surface the same height as the saw, always useful to have extended sawbed.

Adam, you could sink a tube into the floor of your truck in the corner next to the tailgate. Run the cart with the load up to the truck. Swap the Sky Hook from the cart over to that mount, lift and swing your load off the cart and into the bed. That'll let you position the load in your bed. Quickie tie down. No sweat. Close the tailgate and you'll have the Sky Hook there to unload. If you don't unhook the load, it's weight will hold the Sky Hook down.
