You can swap sigil of Air to sigil of Agility. Thats give you more protective swiftness against strip/corrupt. And more sinergy with Invigorating Speed than Streamlined Kits trait. This will allow us to take Lock On or Takedown Round traits. Sorry for my english, wrote this in google traslaitor
I play this but with Commander stats and Chronomancer runes. I also run sigil of cleansing and Rapid Regen for extra sustain. I'm very annoying to kill, but I still pump out good dps.
Hey! I play this build, but with some slight modifications. I think this build is better than the one in the video, at least when going solo. Instead of 1-3-2 scrapper, I run 3-3-3 scrapper for lots of stab and more powerful might. I find gyroscopic acceleration really really weak, and without that kinetic accelerators isn't worth taking. I change rings and accessories stats to diviner and take pack runes. You could say I'm too squishy now, but I find especially as scrapper with impact savant best defense is good offense. This lets me drop streamlined kits and invigorating speed as I can easily maintain swiftness and vigor without them. Burst protection from prot. injection, and more damage and kinetic battery charges from lock on. (+ funny moments where stealthing thieves get caught with their pants down) Finally instead of air sigil I take celerity sigil. Extra quickness synergizes nicely with extra boon duration and more powerful might for big damage, which translates to big barrier! Of course this build doesn't give superspeed or buffs to allies, so it's much worse than the one in the video if you have friendlies around you.

@i just wanna burn you down Look at the power coefficients of the various skills. Engineer needs to grab like 3 damage modifiers alone in order to be on par with other classes and people confuse it with being overtuned. I would love to literally pick anything else, but as Engi you are required to pick them, which limits build variety immensely. Add to that, that scrapper NEEDS direct damage in order for impact savant to work, and you're looking at even fewer builds that are not even optimal, but just fine, opposed to the epidemic of cele willbenders, harbingers and elementalists.
@@ijustwannaburnyoudown2305 It's also worth noting that this build swaps out explosives for tools, so you're swapping damage for less damage but a bit of extra condi cleanse. So yeah, no free or extra damage. If you wanna pick Tools and Explosives because "omg damage!!!", good luck surviving any fight at all.
Hi Vallun, thx for the guide. Never tested scrapper before but i gave a shot and its kinda fun with this build. I like engis but its been kinda hard to roaming. In your opinion, wich is the best engi build to roaming nowadays? Also, if u could help me to find a viable engi build with tool kit plz? i like a lot to pull and prybar people, but i tried your holo tools build and i dont know if its bucause it was some time ago since u posted this build and thee meta changed or the lack of stab/stunbreak but its very struggling.
Tempted to test it with Chronomancer and Zephyrite, since my stats I use already have decent Health and Toughness while of course being careful not to miss out Power, Precision, Ferocity as priority. I replaced Air for Agility sigil which gives interesting boon uptime results especially when it heals us thanks to Alchemy minor trait... now my brain can't stop wanting to experiment on this build (which my brain feel like its pulsing...?)

First off I'm a casual so I know nothing. But i was literally goofing off for the last couple hours just merc'ing in WvW with a mortar build i threw together. randomly googled to see if anyone else knew how good it was and here i am. Just 2 days late.
I used to play with action camera and now I have difficulties to use a build like that. I just can't run in the opposite direction of the enemy while using the mortar.
I use action camera too, the way I do it, when I keep SHIFT key pressed it goes to tab target while pressed, I also have a button for about face on my mouse, but u can have anywhere, so from action camera u go about face then tab target, get your shots in, leave the keys and goes back to action camera the way it was w camera front faced
I’m guessing I just don’t know enough on what I’m doing but I went from normal condition eng to scrapper (was getting bored after 100hrs of same build) and I’m dieing every other minute. Definitely not liking it so far.
Yeah, and the guy isn't even using the best available build. 1. No sanctuary runes, no perma alac. He's using the very suboptimal golemancer runes. (Might be that he's a roleplayer of some kind) 2. He's using alchemy, with purity of purpose, despite only having crisis zone and likely cleansing sigil as his cleanses. He could be using iron blooded, especially with perma alac this could be very nasty, or just straight up take inventions for over shield, mecha legs and bunker down. Tbh really doubt mortar scrapper could deal even a dent to this build if it only had sanctuary runes. But then again, this build is really bad at killing anything and just rolls over if a necro walks within 5000 range of it. If you want to make this kind of build work you really need to drop flamethrower and arms traitline, barrier signet and elite signet and take elixir gun, elixir U, mortar and HGH.
that is the exact opposite takeaway from this, fighting a full bunker celestial mechanist with rank 10,000 and im still able to pressure it means that hte build does a lot of damage over time
This is the exact same build you posted almost a year ago. So it really shows how little you understand scrapper. Explosives is not for fury. The traitline is needed for the damage modifiers. Glass cannon, boomer and shaped charge giving near 60 percent damage increase with vuln. All top scrappers are running explosives with tools and generally expert examination as you can get 20-25 stacks in opener. If you're going to say it's a meme burst build, that's the entire meta. 3k shield from alchemy won't make you a bunker.
He's pretty clear about the fact that almost every Engineer build ever uses grenades. That's obviously because they do more damage and because of all of the damage amplifiers in the explosives trait line. The point is that this is a build that can do without, which is exciting if you like the class and want some variety. Look at his other videos, there's a ton of off-meta shit. Do you really need a video that a thousand people have already made about the meta option everyone is using? The exciting part about roaming (to me) is getting creative and outplaying people with lesser used builds.
@@Northernsolstice that's not true even if youre using mortar it's still better to take explosives. I don't think you realize how useless alchemy is. It has good interactions with inventions but the traits he picks makes little sense. Vigor for getting swiftness? You already get vigor from your tool belt skills. Condi cleans.. you already get from toolbelt skills. Even without mortar 57.5 percent physical damage is massive to throw away. None of these traits go together. I've mained scrapper since hots and was in top 80 last season so I'm pretty sure I know more about engi than a guy that just plays every class for a couple days. Trying his build mortar hitting around 1.9 to 2.2k and with explosives I'm doing 3.5 to 4k. Trust me scrapper is trash either way it's not "meta" but you're better off going explosives tools and using chronomancer runes for quickness with medic gyro. I have spent thousands of game testing every single trait and gear combination just on scrapper

The fuck are you talking about. This build is the EXACT same one he posted a year ago. He literally copypasta'd his own video. This is the cookie cutter build you noobs make from metabattle and guildjen. Explosives tools is a new build that nobody even knew about except the top players until someone posted it like 4 days ago on the forums. If you can't see that choosing redundant talents that don't improve your survival over doubling your damage is a bad idea then clearly it's a waste of my time to argue with you. People who actually can think for themselves and know how to play aren't getting thier builds from youtube and metabattle.
