There's no competition, animating this rig is way faster than doing it frame by frame, but the initial rigging is quite time-consuming too. Most shorts/indie projects are done frame by frame instead of rigging.
Thanks! I'm using the weighted deform node with pegs attached to it, I don't know if that part is really worth it tough, it has a very limited range of motion until it deforms. I may use a different way in the next character with a dress
