TheAventadorSV That's the idea. They couldn't very well make one of their other champions the bad guy in this one, so a substitute had to be made. My only complaint is that this focuses exclusively on Senna's rivalry with Prost, while Prost's episode focused on him. Senna's career was a lot more than the rivalry, and if you were going to shoehorn one into the other's episode, you'd think it'd be the other way around.

Obi-Wan Kannabis I was not implying that it was the other way around, nor was I belittling Prost's accomplishments. But Senna IS better known and better loved, it's a little strange that they had Prost crash his party, so to speak. You make some good points, but you're missing the big one: Senna is not just remembered as one of the greatest because of what he did when he had a competitive car, but what he did when he DIDN'T have a competitive car. He may not have brought home any championship trophies when he wasn't competing with Prost, but the rest of his accomplishments are nothing to sniff at. His Toleman in 1984 was a joke, and yet he most likely would have won at Monaco if the rain hadn't gotten bad enough to call it. He still managed to bring home the silver that day, and podiumed a total of three times that season. Many drivers go their whole careers without even a podium finish, but he got his first win in his second season, not only taking home the gold at Portugal in 1984, but beating the second-place finisher by over a minute and lapping almost everybody. He won once more that year, and podiumed a total of six times. In 1986, when Lotus was still using inferior Renault engines, he managed another two wins and a total of eight podiums. In total, he picked up 163 points between 1984 and 1987 with inferior cars (or 106 if you don't want to count 1987, at which point Lotus switched to turbocharged Honda engines similar to the ones Senna would later benefit from). I would never make the claim that Prost's career was defined solely by his rivalry with Senna, but it's equally ludicrous to claim that Senna's career was defined solely by his rivalry with Prost. You're also forgetting that Senna's career and life were cut short. He most likely would have found a seat in another competitive car had he lived.
