I hope nobody had starting thinking that I was washed up... if they did, this top-spot first attempt at Dubai's Rapid Growth challenge should give them something to think about. :^)
@@rickkim2931 it can happen if a town has a massive buissness, and people only live there to work at that company. But i dont think being 30 seconds late to work one day would cause it.
Toys R Us is not getting enough business, the city shuts down as a result. Or parents cant get into Toys R Us fast enough so they write bad internet review of the city and move, convincing all the other citizens to move with them.
i feel like im watching a tennis match or chess match where im looking back and forth and having panic slowly setting in as it gets more and more intense. as intense as a low poly micro-managing, optimization city sim game can get
Never heard of this game, never heard of this challenge, but damn are you sure entertaining. you had the most genuine reactions to the situations the game put to you in and I felt myself going “OH NO” in those same situations despite not really knowing what was going on in the game or how it worked.
Hi everyone! If anyone hasn't done this challenge yet, please do a min score run so I can update the title to properly reflect the ranking... It's currently just a guess!
What I've noticed about some of the really high ranking scores is they let the pips stack up more and don't reroute as much. Also adding a neighborhood preemptive road in seem to help the houses spawn where you want them. Might help you get in the 10k range more often
Man you handled those situations really well, the game was reading your moves and trying to ruin your game at every turn. Grats on a very goo score o/ Thanks for the video ^^
Just a couple more motorways and maybe it was a top ten run! It was fun though, the best part about not having additional roads is that you always get decent rewards at the end of the week, though motorways are still extremely powerful.
Great stuff. I'm in 58th place on that challenge so you bumped me down one. Challenge accepted! I'm currently 5th on the other Dubai challenge which is another potential big-scoring map.
I have no idea how you make a chill game look so stressful. In the future, you should consider trying to hit 1% on Manila. I've been trying to get 1% for all the maps and it has been by far the hardest for me. I thought I had it with a score of 5304 a few days ago but I'm still stuck at 2%.
If it helps you feel better, Manila was basically free points before they reworked the level - it's next to impossible to get anywhere close to the scores people used to get (easy to get 10K+). Just do your best on that one, until they reset leaderboards (which I don't think they'll do).
I only just found the channel last night, and watched some videos while I was paying attention, but then left them on in the background and got off to sleep really easily 🥰. I usually watch something properly first, then put it back on to help me sleep, something about this game works really well for that since it doesn't feel repetitive before I actually fall asleep since there's no way I can remember what's going to happen with it being so random and complicated at times 😅
I just wanna say out of all the Mini Motorways videos I’ve watched this one is the one that took me from getting constant 600’s-800’s to reaching 3000’s! 51:50
Good run! I got a high score a while back with 7,400+ which is presently #9 on the leaderboard. I can see that rank 4 is 8,041. If you ever want to try this again, you know what to shoot for to get in the top 10.
I just did a challenge in Rio De Janeiro (the one with infinite tunnels and bridges) and I got a higher score than the regular map. This game is infuriating.
Wow impressive building skills wish they would've hired you where I live, I feel like a 5yr old just placed 100s of roads where I live with no concern of traffic issues its awful.
Yo! When you delete a roundabout and lay a road on top of it the cars can't actually travel along that road until the round about has been cleared. Happened two times in this video and you seemed to wonder why the cars weren't going. Anyway, nice video!
I noticed that in editing - it's a nuisance! I think maybe if I put down a road first and then delete it though, that should solve the problem. Will have to playtest it to be sure though!
The way trips are racking up at the end, about 10 seconds of real time is 150 trips or so. Another half a minute would have driven you into the top 10.
Two roads doesn't sound like much, but that honestly would have changed the game! I'm frustrated that I missed those optimizations, but I'll get it next time :)
@@Retroflux Yep... how many times do you say 'One more road. Just one more road.' But it's easy to see from this side of the equation. Slow down, check under motos, really look for singles which might have to share a road, but in that last minute, that's not what'll take you out.
Since you get the roads upfront, maybe you can plan it out and make a grid pattern before they start building so you can force the game to adjust to you.
Ok so I scored 1 😂 that put me in the lowest 5% (5511th) second go i stopped at 30 which for some reason didn't store and it won't let me see the leaderboard anymore, only the original dubai scores 🤔 Will try a proper attempt now and see what happens!
Thank you for doing this! I'm surprised only 5500 people have played it so far, I guess the number of people playing since launch has dwindled quite a bit. My title is a little inaccurate, but should come back into line as more people play this map. Good luck on this one!
incredibly impressive seeins you arranging and re-arranging everything every few turns ^^ short question: would it make sense at some point, to sack just everything and start redoing the complete map, instead of "delete this - build here"? keep it up lad
Hi Small Kirby, likely not, but there are some instances early in the game where it makes sense to redo everything. Once you get to rush mode around 1500 trips, it gets a little janky trying to keep the trips from going critical and redo everything, especially because roads won't delete until every car set to travel on it has finished the journey. If your pips are low and there isn't any fear of ruining the run then yes, but most of the time it's a matter of implementing something alongside the previous and deleting the less efficient path once it's cleared.
Nope! If the challenge mode gives double motorways, it counts each rewards as "one", so the ninth reward are your 17th and 18th motorway. I've certainly had more than 12 before on a challenge like this one :O
