Don’t love this list For one i would assume that you don’t value defense too high, which is fine if you stick towards that criteria (which you do). But I wouldn’t put Bregman down at #5, especially with how you ranked other players who had terrible 2020s and great 2019s. Bregman in the last 3 years is a top 10 player in baseball with very good defense I would put devers lower for defensive reasons as well, but I would put Donaldson at 10. He’s old and always injured. Good job still putting arenado at #1 Jram at 2 feels wrong to me. He’s too inconsistent, and only an average defender. I would put rendon and Bregman ahead of him. Rendon has been a MACHINE for 4 years. In that time he has a .950 ops and good defense
@@samg5737 have your pick. He’s not close to the top guys. He was the 10th best 3B in fWAR last year, 5th in the last 3 if we want a bigger sample. 10th percentile in xwOBA last year, and a career xwOBA .032 lower than his career wOBA, driven by playing his home games at a park that boosts offensive production by up to 35%. There isn’t a valid argument that he is up there with Rendon, Bregman, Ramirez, Machado, or Chapman.
His exit velocity is in the 98th percentile, his xwOBA in the 64th percentile in his worst offensive season. He’s better offensively than several of the guys on this list on top of being the best defender
