🚨🚨CORRECTIONS🚨🚨 (Will post deleted scenes sometime on my side channel) -Screamin' Delta Demon is a BOBSLED coaster, NOT a PIPELINE coaster. A pipeline coaster is something like Ultra Twister where the rails are on the sides. I referred to it as a "pipeline coaster" due to it's pipe-like track. -The Nickelodeon Slime attraction was at Kings Island BEFORE Hanna Barbera Land became Nickelodeon Universe. The Flying Dutchman statue was part of the old attraction. Bikini Bottom Bash was the theme given after the area's retheme. Also, I joined Tik Tok because there are copycats using my logo and channel name together on there. So joining Tik Tok with an official channel is my way of combatting that.
@@JesusSaves668 You must be really popular at parties. Been watching this channel for several years now. He’s got my views. More than you’ve gotten or will ever get. So if you don’t have anything nice to say, you can leave.
It’s worth mentioning that the area where the SpongeBob statues were was known as “the boneyard”, and featured plenty of other Kings Island props which were no longer in use. Even the original ride vehicles and animatronics for Phantom Theater were even left back there. Considering they haven’t been seen in years with them not even appearing up in the small museum display last season, I can only assume that they were scrapped.
@@Clay3613 While some pieces are in the hands of private collectors and Kings Island may still have a couple figures, I assume nothing that was left in the boneyard got saved.
I like looking at the movie industry's impact on Six Flags New Orleans on Google Earth. You can see when Mega-Zeph's infield was cleared out and parts of the park cleaned up for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. You can see the oil rig from Deepwater Horizon in the parking lot. And you can see remnants of Jurassic World's main street also in their parking lot to this day.
One for a future compilation: The disassembled pieces of Speed the Ride, the shuttle coaster that used to be at the Sahara hotel, are sitting in a vacant lot about a block off the Las Vegas strip next to McCarran Airport, and have been sitting there for years.
Presumably the Brazilian buyers didn't want it (or couldn't take it because of the licensing), so the guy said "Why the hell not? Just for the fun of it." and just set up the arch as a landmark.
If you look at screen captures from 2004-2006 of the storage area where Spongebob and Patrick were at kings island, you'll see the dismantled track of King Cobra, and there's also some cool pictures of it on RCDB.
As an Indonesian, I am very sad that we could have gotten a great Vekoma that might had age well. Sadly it was never built and stored to be never seen and touched again.
Oh wow!!!! I live near Kings Island and I actually had no idea that it was Nickelodeon at one time!!! I knew it was Hana Barbera though... Maverick had a heartline roll!?!?!? I learned a lot today. Been subbed for a couple years now. I am 11 and I loooove roller coasters. I would love to learn more from you. keep makin' videos!
Kong's dominion is my home park! Glad to see Tpc mentioning i305's old turn, as I remember hearing things about how it had been seen somewhere, but I couldn't find anything about it. Keep making content, and don't ever stop, many coaster enthusiasts start here on this channel, you, Eltororyan, and coaster studios were the three that started it all. So, thank you so much.
King's Dominion is also my home park. I guess I was not the only one that has blacked out on that ride. One year, I was in the park after running the half-marathon they had there (2017 if I recall) and went to ride 305. I blacked out so hard that I did not come to until after going over that hill after that first turn.
As a brazilian I always get sad when I hear about The Chiller's history... I hope that Deja Vu from Six Flags Over Georgia and Monte Makaya from defunct park Terra Encantada get to reopen here one day... Brazil really deserves that Vekoma GIB running and also Makaya, which was the first coaster to feature 8 inversions before Thorpe Park took the spot with Colossus.
I feel like a lot of people overlook Monte Makaya; it was a record breaker. I did a video on the history of the inversion record if you want to check that out!
So glad you touched on the Old Indiana location! I kinda wish they could have done something with that land to add another park in Indiana. But with Holiday World and Kings Island only 2 hrs away, I can see why they didnt.
I was at Old Indiana just a few days before the fatal train accident that shut it down. Walking by that ride my cousin looked over and made a comment about how fast the train was going.
I'm very happy that the Heartline roll actually made it into this video it would be such a great element if it was still on Maverick!! It looks similar to Cannibal's Lagoon Roll. I can only imagine how it would feel if you were going through that at full speed
Don’t forget the graveyard at Six Flags Over Texas! It’s underneath Titan. They’ve got lots of great stuff under there, including trains from the original Texas Giant, ride vehicles from Texas Chute Out, Fiesta Train, and so much more!
"Time to book a trip to Mansfield!" As a Columbus resident who passes through there every Cedar Point trip... trust me, that track might be the most exciting thing about Mansfield. 😂
Once again, awesome Content as always! There's a couple of sites in the UK you could have included and we have recently had the kickdown that the second longest coaster in the world - the ultimate at lightwater valley which has been SBNO for a few years is to be dismantled and cease to exist! It has the accolade joy only of being the second longest in the world. But also that if being finished by railway/Road company - British Rail! Such a shame. Keep up the epicness as always!
Maverick's heartline roll has always been interesting to me because it makes an already cool ride look even cooler. By the way, Shropshire is a county not a town.
The Google Earth images of the defunct Geauga Lake is just heartbreaking. From 1978 to 2003 it was my go-to place for big park thrills within a reasonable driving distance.
Chiller wasn't closed for mechanical issues. That played a part in it but it partially derailed in 2006 injuring some riders and that was the final nail in Chiller's coffin.
Rode Scream Machine in South Korea before it closed. Good lord, it was one heck of a ride. It was sad to see Kumdori Land close because it was located just across the bridge from the centre of the city (as in, a 3 minute bus ride). Daejeon lost a lot of its excitement the day it closed. :/ A lot of the youth there say there's nothing to do in the city, even though it's the tech capital of the country, which is really is a shame. Honestly, the city needs to take the Science Park (which replaced Kumdori Land) and put it on par with both Lotte World and Everland (the two largest amusement parks in the country). With the tech coming out of the city (KAIST -Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology- is ranked 91 in the world for universities, out of 23,654, and is #1 in the country. It is located in Daejeon), some INSANE coasters could emerge that would be on-par with some of the greatest in the world!
Wished I would’ve saved the screenshot from a few years ago, but I was on Google Earth looking at Kings Island and in the 3D view it showed the back double helix still standing in one big piece. It was very odd to see as that coaster was demolished several years ago and it must’ve been a glitch in the system because it was gone a month later when I looked again.
The nightmare-part of the sharks-ride is not falling in the water but that there's an automated machine in there not exactly designed to have someone right next to it.
Ooooof. I remember The Chiller. That ride physically HURT to ride, and the line mom and I were on was insanely long. The queue theming was awesome, BUT that’s it.
I filmed my "home park" AstroWorld. There were 2 contractors tasked with ride removal. The park was razed in roughly the same time frame as to have a human baby. I literally saw track from Batman being "dropped". SF got $77m for the land, but it cost $18m to tear it down rather hastily. The Huss Troika was another on that got damaged as well. Nearly 20 yrs. later, still nothing on property other than HLSR booths & Bleachers. Area used for overflow parking.
I think it's funny that I never knew about the roller coaster being manufactured in Ogden's BDO. I used to pass by every day to work, and then, a few years later, they built a test coaster. Lol.
I absolutely love these videos! but watching this one made me think about how on my recent visit to six flags fiesta Texas and we were riding a ride on the board walk section and saw an anchor. and this wasn't some little old anchor it's like a cruise ship anchor. it's behind the pirate ride and we looked it up on Google earth and sure enough there it is. idk if it was for a show but certainly interesting, I anyone knows some history I'll certainly be here to listen!
My family used to go to kings island several times a year, we got golden passes and stayed with my aunt who live just a couple of miles from kings island. I have so many great memories there I remember all the sounds and smells and most of the rides. I haven’t been there in several years, I really miss going there.
I rode the Ultra Twister in Houstons now defunct AstoWorld. I loved it. I'm glad I got to ride it. I ride it several times. I've never grayed out or blacked out even at negative 3G's to positive 6G's. I'm blessed with good blood pressure.
I would have hoped that someone would rebuild Chaos in the US. It's such a unique coaster and I have a soft spot for coasters that have multimedia elements.
YES! That was an amazing coaster. I’m still heartbroken about it, even though its been over 25 years. I know part of my love for it is nostalgia, as it’s the only coaster my dad and I got to ride together before he passed, but I still think it was one of the best coasters I’ve ever ridden.
I can not wait for Mario and DK to make his way to Orlando!! On another note, I remember finding that Spongebob out there on Google maps one day while bored at work. Wild stuff!
This was a very fascinating collection of finds, and I was delighted all the way through. I hope there will be more sightings in the future for another installment like this.
Another cool google earth find you didn't put in this video is O'Neill's Adventureland in Sydney Australia. It used to be a small amusement park but is now sat abandoned. It also has a whole bunch of old flat rides sitting abandoned like a 1970's zipper and a Huss rainbow. Also sitting on the land is the old trains from Wonderland Sydney's Bush Beast. There are so many old rides sitting on the land its crazy!
In Google Earth, you have to hit the clock button to go back in time to previous scans. Google Maps doesn't let you time travel. Also, thanks for the compliment! 😀😀
As a Mansfielder, I just checked Google Images again. They have updated 2023 imagery which still shows that heartline section on the ground. Definitely time to book your tickets in the summer and then make the trip northward to Cedar Point, just 90 minutes away.
14:32 some of chaos can still be found today, some of its parts including wheels from the trains have been put on display in the queueline for revolution at bobbejaanland belgium, the last coaster of its kind to still operate today (vekoma illusion)
I remember at one point there was a small field behind kings dominion that had some old attractions. I remember specifically seeing the old kiddie swinging ship ride and old theater seats.
Yes, I think I've heard about that. It being my home park (and, let's be honest, I have connections in different areas, definitely had some to do with it.
I went to Kings Island as a kid right when they put in the Nickelodeon stuff! I had vivid memories of the loving the Rugrats coaster! Went back as an adult and wondered what happened because the Nick area was so cool! (I live between cedar point and the late Six Flags in aurora ohio) so I’m all Snoopied out! But I thought I was imagining the Nick area in kings island for the longest time! 😅
a SpongeBob statue can be seen from Google Earth in the backlot of Six Flags Great Adventure. i used to walk past that statue every day on my way to work. it used to be part of the Spongebob 4D attraction. its located in-between Nitro and the old Axis Chemicals theater building. just next to the ride workshop
@VSN i did see them as well. it also has the old Batman and Robin The Chiller props, and its also where they store the giant Pumpkin king statue when Fright Fest isnt in season
Surprised you didn’t mention Legoland Windsor’s street view images which catch Top Gear’s “The Stig” driving a little car around their driving school track. Nice video though!
Well, I know that the former Shockwave/Batman the Escape track was visible for many years next to Darien Lake, but that one's already been well documented by this point. :)
Liked and subscribed. I’ve enjoyed your videos, even though I don’t get to go on many coasters now. I love watching the rides you feature. Oh and you did pronounce “Shropshire” correctly.
I was able to get to ride that Togo coaster when it was at Astroworld(R.I.P.). I thought it was an amazing ride. As a kid I was scared at first but went on it three more times.
I grayed out once, on the Batman coaster, at Six Flags Mid America, in St. Louis. I was only in about 6th grade, so this would have been 30 years ago or so (yeah, I'm old, lol) but I remember it as if it were yesterday. It happened on the very first drop. I thought I was going to pass out. And it scared the HELL out of me! Scared me so bad, I couldn't even enjoy the rest of the ride. I mean, I was only about 13, and that was the first time that had ever happened to me. So I had no idea what was going on, at the time. Fortunately, it didn't scare me away from roller coasters, and it never happened again. I'm still a roller coaster lover to this day, 30 years later! And I loved this video. Even if it *did* make me a little sad, lol.
