Bill Burr also leans with his elbow on mic stand same as you on the bench. Now to mix tool talk and comedy in a routine and then do impressions of him in his comedic style..now that's a winner. The tool talks are great, thanks.

Only use a pickle fork on a joint you are replacing because it damages the boot and ball in the socket. I have never owned a pickle fork and get joints separated without breaking a sweat, with a front end service set. It comes with varies pullers that are used with an impact and the joint is not compromised.
@TonyTheTechnician
@TonyTheTechnician 6 лет назад
Joe Hearn ya I use the service set as well and most the time I can get them out with it or a hammer. Pickle fork is my last resort but still a great tool.

Learning a lot - thanks for the automotive tool tips. (Here's a tip back - at 12:30 & 15:30, it's "infra-red," not "inferred" to refer to the light spectrum it's using, not how the temperature is determined.)

Just an idea...What is the verdict on used tools. I come across lots of posts on craigslist and FaceBook Market Place for Mechanics that are selling their tools. Some are retiring some for other reasons. How can one know how much to offer for used tools?

I am debating between that Matco spk6 spark plug sockets set and a Gearwrench/KD set with less coverage. Do you know the applications for the different 9/16" sockets? The 5 piece Gearwrench set only includes one. Thanks.

speaking of bearing drivers, isn't it all the same stuff? If you're just pounding on it.... why buy a nice one? Google is your friend ppl lmao.... dont be afraid to google specs and specifics on various vehicles. theirs a lot of information out there. ALSO those major brands..... otc makes half the that junk anyways... save you're self some money and buy otc. order off amazon, save tons of money
@TonyTheTechnician
@TonyTheTechnician 7 лет назад
Richard Cowtails lol exactly my point. they are all just machined discs and do the exact same thing. no sense in spending a bunch of money on a set like this. once again thanks for watching man!

John Gibson what do you mean. is this video not playing right?
@TonyTheTechnician
@TonyTheTechnician 7 лет назад
John Gibson maybe your talking about the videos that you see pop up that are like 2 or 4 min long. its bc i record clips and then upload them as private to youtube and then combine them all into one video but for some reason youtube acts funny and takes one of my clips from private to public lol. then people see a part of a video that I'm not ready to post yet lol

That oil filter claw is a waste of money. The best one and really cheap one is the Husky one or the old school blue point one

The title doesn't match the video or its description, butvregardless, the top tool that any mechanic should prep, maintain and care for is his brain.
@TonyTheTechnician
@TonyTheTechnician 7 лет назад
pssst3 your right your brain is your biggest tool but we are talking physical tools in this video and if you check out the other half of the video created by themechanicman92 you will see the title and description fit the video. We are talking about 10 tools automotive repair uses that a body specialist wouldn't really use and vise versa. Thanks for watching!

My apologies I was just starting out on RU-vid when I made this video and didn't even think about linking any of the tools. If you check out my newer videos I have all my tools I suggest linked in the description of the videos now. Thank you for watching and I hope you find some tools you think he will enjoy. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I will try to come back and edit the description for the links in this video. Love the anklet you have as well.

I never really understood the point of those angled head wrenches but can I see how they would help access things like suspension mounting bolts. Might have to get a set of those, in collision repair it's actually very common to have to R&R damaged suspension parts.

Alot of brake caliper brackets have bolts that are partially blocked by either suspension or lines. Very good for those.

A video series that would be awesome, and help your channel as well, would be like "5 tools that are helpful when doing an oil change" or "Tools that are helpful with (insert job here)". Just because i have tried talking other people into working on their own cars, but they never know what tools they need, or how much they cost, to see what the savings would be over time.
