Just a heads up to anyone going to Kyoto that Kiyomizudera is under construction. You can still get in and walk the grounds, but the main temple is covered in construction tarps and not all that photogenic right now.
I'd say that Kyoto is even better during Autumn colors than during Hanami, which says a lot... Done autumn 2016 and 2018, soon going for a third Autumn round!
you lucky bastard. I went once in 2014. The most amazing autumn colors I have ever seen anywhere in the world. I wish I could go again. I still reminisce from time to time about the autumn beauty of Kyoto even after all these years
Quite Jealous of you right now.. bordering on hate.... Pretty strong words for someone i dont even know. Have a great time and take loads of photos... in other words SEE EVERYTHING!! I won't be going back until next summer.
I am staying for 3 months, I think that in about two weeks it's going to be the best, already looking spectacular in many places but you can see that some leaves are making the shift. I think it because it's was warmer this year, so early December will be the best time to see it. I am not an expert, just sharing based on my experience. I recommend checking out the places via Google photos and order the photos based on the latest ones. This way you can get a clear view of how the colors are there. I based my travel from Osaka to Kyoto to those specific places based on what I see. That being said, search for natural-looking photos, people enjoy saturating their photos like crazy producing fake colors that are not as they are. Also, keep in mind that some days might be rainy. I personally take advantage of any good weather in Kyoto, because beautiful weather enhances the experience compared to a gray cloudy day (that just me). Good luck and have fun.
I had decided that my last visit to Japan, while my daughter is still living in Tokyo, would be next November since I have never seen the beauty of the Autumn colors. She said she thought mid November would be best and now I hear it from an expert. Thank you so much for confirming my next trip to Japan and of course, my favorite city to visit, Kyoto ❤️
PJ of Ice and Fire we went in mid November and it was beautiful. There is a garden and authors house called Shidendo in the east part of Kyoto which is also well worth a visit.
Autumn color in Kyoto is sooo beautiful, middle of november I think its good❗️ But tourist will come from all of the world, and its sooo clouded. If you can ride a bicycle,I recommend to rent a bicycle🚴 Have a nice trip🇯🇵👋
I recommend Kibune and Kurama , the small village in the mountain . You can go there by the train (Eizan Line) Autumn leaves outside the window is awesome!
Hello 👋 i'm heading to Japan on last October 2019, can i see these beautiful view? Or any information which regions should i visit to look autumn leaves? Thx a lot for info 💕
Hello: This looks so spectacular. I read on a few websites that the fall colors this year might be a little late in Kyoto due to warm summer. We are scheduled to be there from Nov 20 -26. But now thinking if Nov - Dec 3 would be a safer option. Is there an official website that tracks falls color progress? Thanks
Here is the typical timing of fall colors across Japan: www.japan-guide.com/e/e2014_when.html Also, throughout the season we send reporters across the country to update on the actual current conditions. A list of reports and upcoming reports can be found here: www.japan-guide.com/blog/koyo19/ Lastly, although each year is different, you can look back at our archive of reports from previous years which might be helpful: www.japan-guide.com/blog/koyo18/ , www.japan-guide.com/blog/koyo17/ , etc...
If I had only 3 days on Kyoto, not a very large margin of error, on which date should I arrive to have a 100% certainty of witnessing the leaves at or near peak?
As publishing date is shown September 24. This confuses me because you point out: Kyoto fall colors are best from early November to early December. What's right now?
Kyoto fall colors are best from early November to early December. The footage in the video was shot over several years of autumn color seasons and the video was published in September a little ahead of the autumn color season for people to plan their trip. Hope this helps :)
@@tanzhongyan4775 I'm in Kyoto now (23 Oct) and most of Kyoto has yet to change colour 🙁 There are some colours at Arashiyama but not very distinct. Still I'm enjoying myself. On the train to Uji now!
