You possess such a lavish collection... absolutely enviable.when you say "these barbershop fragrances are one of the finest" one is compelled to believe you
Im a sucker for well executed barbershops. Some excellent picks there. Wore 1725 Yesterday, such an intoxicating blend, has a spectacular vanilla note with almond. Profumum Roma’s Antico Caruso is another superb barbershop. Enjoyed. 👍
Awesome video, nice to see all the support for the fougere / Chypre category. It is my favorite as well. I also enjoyed your review of Sandalo by Acqua Di parma that to me firs into the barbershop scene as well
Thank you Marco, very kind of youo. I am yet to smell Eucris, but I do have a trumper fragrance in my collection, Sandalwood Cologne, and that is very nice.
This list is amazing sir!! Thank you for making videos of recommendation that screams fine taste for us. Looking forward to seeing your second part of this video soon!
Great eclectic list, AC. Derby has arrived at top of my try list; can't wait to sample it, Guerlain PM, modern Sauvage EDP, the others I haven't tried or don't own. Add that I had trouble with over-applying quirky AdP sample sprayers - reporting Quercia was near beast on my skin. Had just applied similarly styled to my nose Vert D'Encens, another AC fav, fr sample when I saw this vid come up. Great show. And Dia man is quality. Cheers; congrats on 200 vids.
🙌WOOHOO!🙌 🙌EPISODE #200!🙌 WHAT A FANTASTIC TOPIC CHOICE! 🍾CONGRATULATIONS AC!🍾 So proud of you! Just returned from my British Isles tour. Had a great time and the cool weather was delightful! Spent a little time at Heathrow Duty Free. Picked up a couple of Acqua di Parmas - Sandalo and Cipresso di Toscana. Just love this house! Seeing your review has me pulling out some old friends and spending some time with them. So many fragrances, so many loves. To your next 200! Cheers my friend! 🥃
Oh, your #201 reminded me that I also picked up D&G The One Mysterious Nights while passing through Heathrow. It is all you say it is! So glad to finally have it. Maybe this Fall your 3rd installment of your "Most Opulent Fragrances "? Talk soon AC!
Hahah, yeah, left the window open and there was a bit of a storm and the painting came off, I am very lucky its not framed else I would be crying a river, its a very expensive original :)
Dear Sir, you described the fragrances, exquisitely to details, cheers to the next 200 videos, thank you for doing this. (pls. Do more designers frags, its all I can afford here in the Philippines. -Vanity taxes are heavy here.)
Richardo, thank you. I truly appreciate your kind words. I will definitely review quite a few Designers. I try to mix things up as my audience is quite varied :)
AC your calming tone and eloquent description of perfumes has got me hooked and puts my 4mth old infant fast asleep. Ur a knockout buddy! It's no small feat putting an infant to sleep...Sachin hitting McGrath & Warne over the top comes to mind. Anyway totally hooked on ur channel...I'm new to scents...bought Heritage and Aramis Tobacco Reserve blindly after u suggested. LOVE the Aramis as I love tobbaco scents but hate when they go sweet! Heritage EDP is with dad and he likes it...can't wait to try it. Also got Sartorial...when it's done gona start working backward through ur list :)
hahah Fantastic! I did not realize the side benefits of my review. I am always delighted to hear how my reviews have helped so thanks a lot for sharing your experience, much appreciated!
@@ACSmellsGood I would consider reading children's books turning them into audio books. I'd be your first customer! Also, great elixir for a silky voice is green tea with a dash of coconut oil... great to begin the day or for a zoom call with clients :) Organics India sells a fantastic Darjeeling floral variety. Cheers!
Congratulations, AC! Your reviews are always superb in quality and I can't understand why you don't have a massive amount of subscriptions. Everytime I watched your videos I feel that I'm training my nose with your precise descriptions and beautiful evocated images. I'm learning a lot from you so I thank you for that! Very nice ranking by the way! Waiting for the next part :D
Congratulations on your 200th episode AC! I'm actually a gourmond lover, but aside from my fiance, you are still my favorite reviewer! Here's to 200 more! 🍻
Your voice A.C. and how you speak and describe make me want to try everything you review....you would be great at telling stories especially something scary....love your channel
Well done AC, really look forward to your reviews, keep up the good work. Most barbershops today, certainly in my area spray you with Duru Limon, however YSL Rive Gauche is what reminds me of Barbershops of years gone by.
Thank you for doing this video and for the valuable education you provided. I have the Dior Eau Sauvage perfume and it is one of my favorites. I feel like a erudite professor wearing that.😊 I will certainly have to try some of the other ones you recommended.
Very happy to hear that. I also quite enjoy barber shop fragrances and shall do a newer version some time soon. Eau Sauvage Parfum happens to be one of my favorites too.
Thanks AC for all your fantastic reviews, well done on your 200th review. Your knowledge and passion along with your easy charm makes me really want to sample as many fragrances as possible . Thanks and keep up the good work. 👍
Have you sampled the barbershop fragrance Beau De Jour from Tom Fords private blend collection? Would you know what it would be most comparable to from your existing collection? Also congrats on reaching 200 episodes!
Congratulations sir on completing 200 episodes, it's a great achievement and there is lot more to achieve, just keep up the good work. I'm very happy to see the growth of your channel, increasing subscribers ,amazing content, informative reviews ,great style, good taste, everything is perfect. Enjoyed this Barbershop frag list, now waiting for another list . great job 👏👏👏👏😊😊😊😊😊
*Congratz AC for episode 200, what an archivement! 🎉 Great list of this special male genre. Wouldn't ever considered Estēe Lauder Azurēe into my watchlist without your mentioning!* 👏😉☕
Congratulations! You are doing very very well and I love your videos. I wish a video dedicated to really beast mode fragrances, because my ph skin soft all perfumes. By the way, my husband loves Shalimar and Chanel 5 and it's because of you! Thank you very much! Kisses from Barcelona
Sandra, thankyou, you are so kind. I am delighted to hear that your husband liked Shalimar and NO 5 . Shalimar in my opinion is the most romantic scent ever made, true romance that is :) I am going to do a video on beast mode fragrances soon and in the mean time please test Serge Lutens Fleurs d oranger ( I have reviewed it ) and I think in your kind of weather it will smell absolutely divine and also Eau de Sens by Diptyque. Let me know what you thought.
I own all apart from 8 of them 😂. I think I’m Steve McQueen when I’m wearing Eau Sauvage Parfum. Barbershop frags are my favourites and really lift my mood. Fine top ten.Onwards and upwards AC. ( have you seen Lanier Smith’s favourite barbershop choices?)
Thank you Paul, your comment really made me smile .. Steve McQueen no less eh. Like you I truly enjoy Barbershops but I do not particularly like synthetic or strong smelling 80s stuff. I haven't seen Lanier's list but I will check it out.. infact I watch very few reviewers myself, some due to paucity of time and some for the reason that I do not want to get influenced by their views on the fragrance I am thinking of reviewing.
DEAR AC Excellent review with in depth analysis as expected from you Congratulations for your review number 200 Looking forward to share your review 2000 with 2 million followers
@@somedude4652 you know I think Australia have missed a trick by not having Carey in the side, I think he is going to be the next Smith albeit left handed ... I saw him bat at the WC and he looked by far the best Australian Batsman. Time will tell I think :)
Some nice choices there mate, what do you think of Sartorial? im 30 but still enjoy that one, of course Invasion Barbare is fantastic but I find its a little too pricey, so i sample it, I highly recommend you try a sample from Fragrance Samples Uk of Profumum Roma Antico Caruso , this is true barbershop for me, woman seem to enjoy that one, i find its tough to find woman who love these type of fragrances but the enthusiasts when comes to fragrance, tend to love barbershop scents!
Thanks for the tip on Antico, I will surely give it a shot. you are right women don't generally like Barbershops but some really do :) I like Sartorial but as much to get a bottle plus IB is sartorial and much much more IMHO.
AC! Great overview mate. I would have guessed that Derby is your top one. On your review you spoke very highly of it! From the list I own a bottle of Dior's Eau Sauvage 2017 release, and I do quite enjoy it. Thou' I believe it is not for young people. You have to be 25+, maybe even 30+ in order for a person to enjoy such scents, in my opinion. For a modern Fougere, I'd also include Maison Margiela's At the barbers. It is quite modern and I believe a lot of people would enjoy it. I'll try to get my nose on some of the fragrances, but I'm slowly preparing for fall, and I just got another Montale, such a gorgeous scent called - Oudmazing. I believe it is a stunner! Oud made with a twist of Fig and some Rose Grape, I've never encountered anything so interesting. Highly recommended to get your nose on some of the Motale fragrances mate! Take care, Stoyan
Thank you Stoyan, and yeah Barbershop fragrances tend to suit mature men a bit more IMHO. I have to try Oudmazing mate, and infact I havent tried anything from Montale TBH.
If you need some samples, just drop me a reply and I will arrange some decants for you to review! Would enjoy seeing you do some first impressions on a fragrance. Cheers!
oh very nice of you stoyan, and I can certainly take care of all costs through Paypal mate, no issues. Lets discuss over email. My address is acsmellsgood@gmail.com
Great video, thanks for sharing..I wanted to ask you what happened to the Mancera Blue Aoud video you had up before? I have that fragrance on the way and wanted to watch you take on it..
@@ACSmellsGood I currently wait 3 top notch fragrances from Renier. I am very happy, If we were near I would happily decant some for you it's a pity..... 😕
Congrats for your 200 episodes, hope many more to come. Please share your Indian contact details (Mridul) who helps you to procure perfumes, so that we can also order through him.
@Smells Good Hey AC! As a woman, I want so much to find a barbershop fragrance, or a fougere, or both, that I love. From this video, I think 1725 Histoires de Parfums Casanova comes the closest. As for a fougere, my Dad wore Brut, and I loved it, but I haven't smelled it in years. Perhaps there is something that combines the two? I want smooth and creamy, with spice/s, minty, citrus notes, lavender, carnation, iris, rose, sandalwood, tonka bean, vanilla, and musk, but NOT a detergent, laundry fresh, metallic, ozonic, fishy, seaweed, aquatic, soapy, funky, poopy, animalic musk. Perhaps you are the only one that can clear up exactly what it means to describe a fragrance as having a soapy smell. I've heard soapy, fresh. shower gel, and from the female reviewers, a shampoo smell. I happen to adore the smell of some of the Aveda shampoos I have used over the years. Yet, the soapy that always comes to mind for me is the basket of little round soaps in my Grandmother's bathroom that sat for years collecting dust. In the fragrance sampling process, I have found myself having this very nightmare in soapy land several times in my quest for this magical concoction! Though, from my description, or criteria, "magical" probably wouldn't be the word that comes to mind for most... I want the clovey shaving cream/foam with all the barbershop/fougere trimmings! In the opening of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille, for me, there is the smell of clove gumdrops, like from the bags of spiced Gum Drops that you can only purchase in the United States during the holiday season. They are sugared gumdrops, and I think, just a hint of that sugar could be really nice if done tastefully. I adore the clove gumdrop smell I get in the opening of Tobacco Vanille. It brings back so many wonderful family memories! Anyway, the fragrance should have great longevity, and a scent trail that turns heads not with a, "Wow, what are you wearing? You smell fantastic!", but more of a feeling of, "Mmmmmmmm... What is that lovely aroma? It's divine. So soothing and rich!" A paradox of sorts... So AC, please do share your thoughts on my ramblings (sorry about that), and perhaps make some recommendations. No hurry, and thank you! Warmest regards, Lisa
Would you make a video of best Lavender fragrances? I found that I really like Lavender, my favourite every-day fragrance is Versace Dreamer, so I'd like to experiment with lavender scents.... maybe something more classic, or more elegant
Man your the best super insightful love your content I have always said that! I would really like to see a top 5 or 10 mint fragrance picks!! 🍭like spearamint aka toothpaste like lol ...i don't care for natural mint smells too plant like (You or Someone Like You👎)...not a fan... it's hot down here in USA Louisiana and I think a mint would be really refreshing done fresh and mentholic. See what you can do my ninja! #200 Don't ever stop!
@@ACSmellsGood Thanks all the reviewers are like ex: yeah it's a nice natural mint not toothpasty basically down playing that kind of mint like its bad assuming we dont like it ...idk that's vibe I get
I know what you mean. Just thinking about your comment, have you ever tried Pour Monsieur EDT ? also Beach hut man ? let me know coz I get that spearmint mentholic freshness in both at least in the opening.
I was wondering whether to suggest Chanel Pour Monsieur as it's so refined and was my office scent back in the 1980's, and then I saw you selected it. The original came out in 1955. I still have a bit of the cologne concentree which is probably stronger than what's available today. I have to get my nose on the two current versions available (edt and edp). Everything was so good and strong in the 1980's compared to the weak mouthwash/air freshener. that passes for men's fragrances today. I would add Paul Sebastian PS to the list as well as Azzzaro Pour Homme and the incredibly strong vintage Paco Rabanne Pour Homme. This is one that's long gone, but I think you would have ;loved it - Paul Sebastian V.S.O.P: i.imgur.com/L3hGgZJ.jpg A few more: Ralph Lauren's Safari. I still have plenty left from my original edt/aftershave gift set: i.imgur.com/P5DZvha.jpg Giorgio for Men by Giorgio of Beverly Hills. My 1980's bottle has turned a dark brown but is still VERY strong. The current EA Fragrances formulation is not as strong but still potent: i.imgur.com/xPgcXpy.jpg Any discussion of barbershop fragrances has to mention the Clubman line of aftershaves, Brut, Canoe, and of course, the most famous of all, Old Spice. It's been said that every perfumer dreams of creating an "Old Spice", a timeless scent that lasts for generations and has earned a fortune for Shulton and now, Proctor & Gamble (although their version is sweeter and not as strong as the Shulton version). I'm surprised that one you mentioned in the video but didn't include didn't get more discussion and that was my 1970's college scent, Aramis. Even the flankers are good. Unfortunately, perfumers are limited to the extent of oakmoss they can use and substitute treemoss. That's probably part of the reason that little projects today like the days of yore. Good video. I'm looking forward to part 2. Congrats on your 200th episode.
@@ACSmellsGood Some may be obvious, but few are wearing them today and most of the guys in their 20-40''s probably barely have knowledge of what they smell like as they're so used to sweet fragrances!
