She Said, She Said was such a heavy song for 1966. I can see why Paul was against it with his concern of LSD. But man that song is a gem and my top favorite in Revolver

Revolution 9 sucks

I think the most notorious one was John's " It's Only Love", featured in HELP! He hated how corny it sounded.

Lennon always had a meaner side than his fellow Beatles and no doubt the breakup, particularly, the other Beatles disconcerting attitude to his beloved Yoko and maybe petty jealousy, contributed to these dislikes. Lennon had a jealous streak, admitting it in solo track Jealous Guy, which would definitely be another motive. Too many cat fights here by Lennon. Meanwhile most of us fans don't care....we love the songs in different degrees, but rarely hating, only maybe having less liked ones. Nevermind. Even the least liked ones here, often have interesting musical arrangements. As for Revolution No 9, we all have to experiment, even famous painters have painted over canvases or wished they hadn't painted some composition. Maxwell's Silver Hammer is actually similar to later songs by McCartney like Admiral Halsey/ Hands Across The Water and Magneto and Titanium Man; just whimsical, so not to everyone's taste.

Eight Days a Week is underated IMO

I thought Hello, Goodbye was going to be on the list. I read somewhere that John hated it, but honestly, in my opinion, this song is great. Good guitars, good bass, good drums; good everything. It is one of my favorites, although I understand why lots of people dislike it

"Yellow Submarine" is the worst. Just dopey.

Revolution 9 only exists because of all the PID clues, that's why it is on the album.

Yesterday, Eight Days a Week, and Twist and Shout are AWESOME! Some of their best-ever songs.

Thankfully Maxwell was never released as a single. It would have replaced From me to you as their worst single ever. From me to you is just a harmless ditty but Maxwell is overproduced banal music hall number.

"Good Morning, Good Morning" was the first Beatle song that I like d in my life. The animal sounds at the end was Just amazing for me and my 9 years old.

She Said is a great song that deserved to be longer specially that instrumental part at the end.

Funny enough, I actually don't hate Maxwell's. Though, I know I won't listen to it too much and even hold me tight.

Maxwell’s Silver Hammer is a very good song. It can only be judged negatively if the Beatles is your standard. A one hit wonder of that quality would have made somebody famous. The chords and melody are Paul at close to his best, and there’s nobody better. The arrangement and production are perfect, and to top it off we have a song about a serial killer, whose dark humour is sadly lacking throughout rock n pop history.

The appalling "Revolution #9" should sit on the top of this list. "Maxwell Silver Hammer" though not a masterpiece is way better than Ringo's dull "Don't Pass Me By". Including "Yesterday" here is simply sacrilegious just as the case of "Twist And Shout". The former - a true pop classic, the later being one of the early Beatles best recordings. Harrison's "Don't Bother Me" and Stars' cover of "What Goes On" would be more appropriate choices for the worst of the Beatles. "O-bla-di, O-bla-da" was hated by John, George and Ringo mainly due to the number of takes it took to record the final version, not necessarily because of the song's quality.

I am surprised there was no mention of The Long and Winding Road. Phil Spector heavily altered the track without consulting Paul, and the fallout from that was spectacular.

I agree with most choices made here. A major exception is "She Said, She Said", which remains one of my favorite tracks on the 'Revolver' album, and which was also a favorite of Leonard Bernstein. Listen to what Ringo does on the drums ... phenomenal!

I have heard, by some of 'the boys', that the band was democractic. If not all was agree, they did not do it. So why did the still do Maxwell? They could just say FO, and left, and vetoed no, to get the song on the track if Macca did by him self. By the way, I LOVE that song. Seems like all guys did their best, and a good production as well.

Maxwell Silver Hammer was dark subject matter for The Beatles. I liked it.

This is garbage. ALL of the Beatles' songs are great! And I will never feel differently. I have been their fan since 1963. Best group ever!

Hm, can''t say I can quite disagree with a lot of these, except "Maxwell's Silver Hammer", which gets an irritating amount (and kind) of hatred by the others (and often the audience, too) for being such a "granny song" in spite of those incredibly dark lyrics (though musically it is rather simple I guess; I'm glad "When I'm 64", "Your Mother Should Know" and, last but not least, "Honey Pie" aren't on the list, though, because I love (!) those and don't get the hatred at all; "Ob-la-di Ob-la-da" works in the context of the brilliant "White Album", but probably only there, I guess) which someone like Lennon should have loved, but apparently didn't pay attention to 😄 (?) and "Revolution 9: Well, I mean, I get why that's not for the casual listener, but why even die-hard Beatles fans treat it the way they do, I'm sorry, that is a little, and I'm really not using such a word often (and am not a fan of pretentious people, who, for example, don't appreciate something like the Beatles at all, either) philistine to me; so they made a sound collage ONCE; isn't that what makes their repertoire so impressive that they've EVEN got something like that in it (as well as all those really, really, simple, catchy pop tune as an extreme opposite)? Finally, there's "Yesterday", which, while being overplayed is a damn beautiful song. I must say that their lyrics were generally not that great in their earlier years which probably became more (!) apparent when (!) they were trying to make something "deep". That's probably why Dylan disliked "Yesterday", though, personally, I find "Nowhere Man" and even worse example if I'm being honest...

"HATE" is such a strong word. I don't think The Beatles hated any of their songs, although there was obvious dislike by 2 or 3 of them WRT "Maxwell" and "Ob-La-Di". I certainly don't think McCartney walked out of the "She Said" sessions because he didn't like the song; my understanding ia that he had an argument with the the others over the song's arrangement and maybe some of the lyrics (which are not ostensibly about LSD, even though they arose from an LSD trip). All of the 10 tracks mentioned are great. "Revolution 9" is obviously the most underrrated; "She Said" and "Mean Mr Mustard" are just brilliant.

"Yesterday," "She Said," and "Twist and Shout" are all masterpieces, iconic, superb. I think this band just liked to fight and preen and pose by claiming to dislike various songs. On the other hand, "Ob-La-De" and "Maxwell" are total junk, I can't stand either one. But "Rocky Raccoon" completes the "Turd Trio" and I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned alongside the other two stinkers.

There are some slight little pop songs with no importance other than entertainment, but very few IMO are actively bad. Mr. Moonlight, Act Naturally.

John Lennon hates Yesterday

I agree with Paul, Revolution 9 should not have been on the White Album. Personally I never liked Yellow Submarine and didn't like Octopus's Garden much either. When Maxwell's Silver Hammer was released (I was 11 years old) we all liked it, but we were prepared to like everything the Beatles put out and everyone eagerly awaited the next release.

I've loved so many Beatles songs, and I fail to see the appeal of Yesterday. It probably was groundbreaking back in the 60s, but to me its kind of a sappy song.

I’ve never liked Hold Me Tight. Have always loved Good Morning, Good Morning. Revolution 9 isn’t really a song. More of an experimental soundscape. Don’t hate it, but not a good fit for a Beatles album.

I agree with most of the list, my personal #1 would have been Rev 9, but 3 songs I don't know if The Beatles as a whole hated as you say on the list, Twist, and Shout..? Maybe John didn't like his cold affecting the track at the start, but come on this was an early live favorite of theirs, unknown on She Said, She Said if Paul is off the track because of his stance on LSD at the time, all I heard there was an argument, so he left the recording, and Yesterday, yes I've heard John's quotes before and on his How Do You Sleep, as far as I know he liked the song, I believe he said so on that talk show guy's show, forgot his name in 72 I believe, Yoko was also there for the Interview, the other 7, yes, it's well known.

Ok, I need to say that I do not believe John Lennon- if he said "Yesterday" was not a good song and that he did not wish he had written it. Baloney! John was jealous. That's what I think.... Remember that live performance when Paul finishes "Yesterday" and John says, "Thank you, Ringo."? ...Yeah, the green eyed monster was coming out. Totally dismissive because John knew he could never write anything like it. Pretty funny, actually.

When Lennon made those comments he was writing some serious songs and trying to move away from Walrus etc His comment on Yesterday was that it didn’t resolve. He said he didn’t wish he wrote it because he didn’t like it but rather to not take the credit from Paul. It’s respect not disrespect. He didn’t attack the song yesterday in How do you sleep. It was an attack on Paul. Context
