Already watched it and I love it! Give Ryan Gosling the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor! Greta Gerwig created a hilarious movie that has depth and social relevance.
@@melricho6934 Absolutely No matter how funny folks think Ryan is, Margot’s Barbie is the heart of the movie. And as a result she did all emotional heavy lifting in the film. She totally deserves all the awards
Poor Ken. I also didn't play with Ken. I think I had one Ken doll but I used to steal my brother's GI Joe "action figures" that were suspiciously similar in shape and size as my Barbies.
oh my god, just realized the photo of ken face down in the grass was totally used by Greta in the film (when Barbie does the exact same thing during her meltdown). So good.
I busted laughing SO times when I saw the movie, but this snippet of that scene sent me over the edge...and that interview was a full year before release, somany probably forgot or don't even know about it!
No way that dance choreography took less than 10 takes to film! How do they do it without starring at the floor to see the directions of which way to dance?
It's said that Ryan Gosling delivered an Oscar-worthy performance that completely stole the show onscreen, I can't see how this film won't be a success.
I’m excited to see this movie as it looks great. I hope that the make up and costume win this movie Oscars. I don’t think it will Sweep at the Oscars, but I do hope it gets the awards I said.
I can’t wait to see it again. Such a FUN movie 😃 and Margot Robbie is so beautiful & such PERFECT casting!💖 My all-time FAVORITE Barbie doll is Teresa. She’s absolutely breathtaking!💖 I also love Barbie nemesis, Raquelle.😂 I really hope we see them in the sequel!!😃 🎶come on Barbie let’s go party🎶😃
I loved playing with Barbie when I was a little kid but I also always wanted Ken! I wanted to have a true love for Barbie and come up with many stories evolving both Barbie and Ken together even having them married with kids! But, alas, no matter how many times I asked for Ken for Christmas or my birthday my dream of owning the Ken doll never came true. So while I understand where Ryan Gosling is coming from about how not every girl is actually surprisingly interested in playing with Ken I'm also giving out a counterargument. I couldn't help it nobody even gave me an actual Ken doll! XD Also, there can be girls out there who have the same imagination as me and always loved playing with Ken as well. :)
I just watched it today , and it was VERY PLEASANTLY COLORFUL... 🥰🥰🥰 with a deeper storyline that one's could imagined... 🤗💕 for a die-hard fan of Barbie , this will definitely put a wide smile on some memorable fun facts from the past... ✌😋💯
Listen the casting is good. The sets looks vibrant, I trust Greta’s vision, the writing seems promising, there’s allot of genuine hype, while I wish they would’ve included TRIXIE MATTEL (fingers crossed if there’s a sequel) I am still going to go see this film. Let’s just have fun y’all!💯👐🏾🍿😊
Dude, I've always played with Ken. Sometimes I had sessions of only playing with my Kens. Gotta have time with the quátes, eses, and compás (Guys time).
ryan gosling was truly the only choice to play ken. everyone did amazing, especially margot robbie, but ryan gosling truly have an oscar worthy performance
Just saw Barbie today and I CANNOT express just how much I love this movie!! Edit: The only thing about this movie that I didn’t like was the fact that Taylor Swift wasn’t on the soundtrack 😔
Big oversight: Warner Brothers didn't hire Greta to direct "Barbie." That was specifically Margot Robbie and her Lucky Chap Productions (with her husband), as they were brought on as the Producers, when Margot threw her hat in the ring to star. I enjoyed the film overall: gorgeous look, talented cast, intelligent script, decent plot, great laughs... However, I thought the ending was a tad bland and too predictable.
I just saw the movie and wow it’s gonna be a hit👍😁Margot and Ryan are doing the roles so good and the story grabs your mother/ girls❤so many times in the film. You are going to cry and Laugh many times😄🥹Greta is a great director👍Oscarnominies are coming😁By the way I loved my Ken a lot and played with him all the time😉
I don't know if i'm gonna watch this movie, but of i do (or don't) i'll spent the best time of my life. Happy thursday morning Ms Mojo. Take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia.
I’m working this weekend so I’m seeing the movie on Monday. But so incredibly excited I loved ladybird and little woman so when I heard Greta was directing I was so excited. Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are perfect as Barbie and Ken so excited we are finally getting this movie. And the set design looks incredible My only thing being the huge swiftie I am I really wanted Taylor on the soundtrack because she’s literally Barbie! Cruel Summer or Style (Taylor’s Version) would have been perfection.
That’s basically wrong from the start WB didn’t get involved until after Margot’s company picked it up and she got Greta involved THEN they they went to WB
Anne Hathaway is truly one of the most gorgeous faces in Hollywood but since stereotypical Barbie is Blonde-haired blue-eyed, I don’t think she would’ve fit the part. Would have loved to see her as one of the other Barbies though
"I recently watched the Miss Mojo video on RU-vid that delved into behind-the-scenes facts about the upcoming Barbie movie, and it was really good! The video provided so much insight into the talent, production details, and creative inspirations behind Barbie's live-action cinematic debut. I loved learning about the creative team and their unique vision for the film, as well as the inspirations behind some of the key elements like the new version of 'Barbie Girl.' The countdown of facts was engaging and informative, and it definitely got me even more excited for the movie's release. Thank you to Miss Mojo for sharing all of these fascinating details with us, and I can't wait to see what the Barbie movie has in store!"
Ryan Gosling's black cowboy outfit was *first worn by BTS's Jimin in the "Permission to Dance" MV* , and in a Twitter video Ryan Gosling then gave a guitar to Jimin as a result
I got my tickets for tomorrow! Over a year ago I got slowly intrigued when Warner Bros showed the first look of Margot Robbie as Barbie in her Dream Car at CinemaCon. But then when I found out about the multiple Barbies and Kens, the countdown to 2023 got really interesting. I’m nervous about being the only dude not wearing pink in the theater.
Tbh, I’m not surprised the original “Barbie Girl,” isn’t in the movie. The contrast in tone would be as striking as replacing Wagner with Baby shark in Apocalypse Now.
Maybe because I'm a guy I have a feeling this is gonna be really bad at the box office especially if it's anything to go by what's been going on in June. What I mean is it more than likely will not make back the money it took to make it.
The marketing for the movie is absolutely insane, it's definitely going to succeed. Probably not in a billion dollar but atleast enough to be profitable
@@sylasDC Even if the second week dropped (which I kinda assumed anyway just like other movies), if the first week is strong then I guess it's already a sign that the movie will do just fine
I'm a woman who saw this yesterday and it's like you said. Because of it's in-your-face feminism talk and preach and majority of the plot surrounded that, people will spread the word and that will more likely make the movie dip next couple weeks
DANM since 2005 or 2009 this was being planed to start a real Barbie film in the big screen, though in 2016 Mattel's action toy Max Steel came first but then seem to be a bomb shift away in the box office to never continue it's franchise.
men are getting mad for 'ken bashing' but honestly if they had barbies as children they would know.... no one plays with ken, he was always a prop for story lines. all the fun was creating and re-creating your doll into whatever you wanted and having epic stories that would span hours of playtime. My ken didn't have clothes so he wore a bespoke toilet paper robe
I was really enjoying this video until the end. Feeling very uncomfortable with the way you referred to the Christians' belief of creation as a "myth". That's not sitting right with me.
The word myth has multiple meanings. If you google “myth definition” under the 1st listed meaning you’ll see it doesn’t necessarily mean something that isn’t true.
They really want us to believe this 1:50h movie with this heavy modern politics and fast dialogs was in work since 2009 lol, oh i wish, we would've gotten a more campy and light movie like Life-Size or Enchanted..
@@kenmclemore523 That makes more sense, because the message is that neither only women or men should be in charge and they were both in the wrong. But I mean yeah sure, say you know what a movie wants without seeing it if that's what's making you happy.
@@eltonsterling1456 I understand your angst; frankly, if a movie is as freighted with merchandising as this one, I'm skeptical of the "social context" of any plot line since Mattel, in this instance, was not about to allow a story context they couldn't cash in on since they own the characters, ref. GI Joe... Thanks for your comments... KDM
I'm not into "woke" movies either, and other than a few moments I thought were a bit on the cringey side I really enjoyed it- Could you explain what you thought was woke about it bc I'm having some trouble trying to think of anything.
@@eltonsterling1456 thanks for asking, at first when we walked out we both struggled to find a word to describe it. Ultimately we settled in “odd”. We laughed at parts, but I really did not enjoy all the constant male bashing. My Ken doll never did the things they portrayed. I have nephews and it is not their fault they were born male. Don’t get me wrong. I support women’s success and male too for that matter, but it should be based upon contribution. I have worked a long time and people need to focus on the positives in the work place rather than always complaining. I have not worked for companies that discriminated based upon sex or the other classifications. In fact, my companies have been diverse across the board. Playing with Barbie dolls did not make me fake or weak as portrayed. Regardless of my opinion, my great niece enjoyed it, but she did not understand the constant messaging thankfully, she is a little go getter so as am not worried. She can be a Barbie and be successful without trashing men. Have a nice evening.
