The fact that most of the audience is sent home and the “singer”goes backstage before the reveal only confirms for me that the doubles are also performing

Yeah look I'm autistic and I've listened to Clint Black my whole life. I LOVE him. There's no way he was singing every time. I KNOW his voice and his different vocal idiosyncrasies. It wasn't him singing.

1:30 I remember watching the UK version and found it cool, and funny when Morten Harket (A-Ha) sung his own song and the judges still clueless on who it was. (which was something since he sounded the same like on the Unplug series)

The one big thing I always wondered and dreamed about was going to a live taping to the show! Seems like it would be a waste of time and money to be kicked out right as the unmasking happened :( I guess I can keep dreaming about being there for the whole exciting moments!

One our panelists Jenny McCarthy had her husband on the show Donny Wahlberg. He wasn't a contestant but he acted as a sort of backstage antagonist called Cluedle Doo. When his time as Cluedle Doo was up he sang one performance and then unmasked, she didn't guess it was him

I saw a RU-vid video of the reveal of Cluedle-do from Season 5 and someone in the Comment section said that it was staged and Jenny knew it was Donnie Wahlberg under the mask the entire time. What Ken said was true, the host, Audience and even the Panelists themselves do not know who is under the mask beforehand. Jenny's reaction when Donnie pulled off the mask was genuine, she really thought he was on the set of Blue Bloods, also, she assumed, multiple times, that it was the Rapper Akon. Akon has a Nigerian accent and Donnie was from Boston, Massachusetts, there was no way she knew it was Donnie so like I said: Her reaction when it was revealed that Cluedle-do was Donnie was real.
