The duke was my driving school bike and with my height of 1,92 i could not use the rearbreak without Lifting my foot up from the footpeg. I was so uncomfortable i got back pain After my lessons from being in this Position. Now im riding a Mt 125 and its much more comfortable in my opinion. P.s. I dont wanna say its a Bad bike but i would not recommend it if youre above 1,80 m or something...
In NZ the legal limit for learners is up to 600cc I'm pretty sure and my first bike is a 200cc KTM Duke but to bad I still don't have my license after one year of owning it
The aprillia rs4 is a very nice bike and if you can find it for £2000 good find because I couldn't but be aware the insurance for the aprillia is between £2000 and £2800 a year (depending on where you look) which I didnt realise until after I bought mine so be careful
If you want a more traditional bike look at the Zontes Tiger it's very well made mine is 3 years old and looks like new no rust no problems and very reliable commuter
any recommended 2 stroke 125? the 4strokes are too slow at 125 and im looking for something (relatively) quick. in my town there’s a few dt125 2t supermotos and they’re really quick (and loud, they sound awesome) but they’re kinda hard to find in good quality
I have commented on 2 strokes loads of time bro. The only reason they are not in is because they exceed the learner legal limit in the UK! Otherwise definitely Rs125 Dt125 definitely would be in!
YouthfulRider my dt125x didn't best bike I Eva had. but I did fuck the engine up in the 1st week lol I think they stopped selling road 2 stokes here in the UK.
@@charlie_5282 because they are really underpowered and massively over priced, you can get a decent modern ish big 4 bike for less than a grand, sell it at the same price you bought it 2 years later and get something with a bit of power, thats what I'm doing, no 125 will be quick although tbf my ybr only does about 65 unless you're going down hill so some are a fair bit quicker than that and obviously 2 strokes are different kettle
I have a Yamaha WR125R and I get 90mpg for fuel, only downside is they aren't made anymore and fuel stops have to be timed perfectly as most stations have a minimum delivery
YouthfulRider The 125R isn't made anymore, the 125X is but I prefer the taller bike. Definitely a good learner bike especially for wheelies and attempting to tuck in aha
@@alexduncan931 in Ireland with an A1 licence you can drive an motorbike up to 125cc at the age of 16 :) So I'm lucky in the way that I can get it at 16 over here
£4K more likely. Second or third hand with 20,000 on the clock then maybe £2k. Hyosung as a v twin. Thats an interesting one. Should be very reliable I guess?
The thing is. I paid $300 for the motorcyle test..(nailed it) then came the riding the bikes.. 5 years ago Melbourne Australia. It was. Do the test on a motorbike, or a scooter.. Fuck yeh. I have been to Thailand before. Ill do the scooter. 3 people failed fhe test out of ego. And i passed it. Still dont know how to ride a Motorbike but i have a full license.hmm
well you think the 125 hp limit is annoying, I’m 16 and I’m restricted “legally” to 3hp, I mean, legally, not that anyone’s ever going to pull me over for it but just frustrates me
maybe in the future! I haven't had as much experience with mopeds tbh. you have any first suggestions? I will do tonnes of research before hand though! Thanks for the comment :)
I’ve got a 2013 cbf125 and have had 80mph, fitted with a straight through pipe and a 360 spark plug, and goes like it is on steroids. Quite happily sits at 70mph all day long. When I first got it, it wouldn’t budge over 55mph with stock exhaust and plug, but, once I put a straight through pipe and 360 plug in, it now goes like a bloody rocket, I shit you not. Oh, and I use a full synthetic engine oil which also makes a difference, they tell you not to use a full synthetic oil as it will give you clutch slip, total bollocks! Been using this kind of oil for two years now, and the bike has never been better, it runs cooler and smoother.
+cyberjack good bikes. Tbf I would have probably included it in the video. But I have always found them hard to find and a bit pricey. But then again the other bikes are pretty pricey too on my list. Good shout though.
Ok guys i need help I need a bike that i can travel long distances with without destroying the engine on 120-110 kmh I'm not worried about comfort I am thinking about a yzf r125? But I need to be able to travel long distances like 5 times a year
I had a yzf r125 that I used to travel 80 miles every 2/3 months and it was fine! But comfort is something you should think about mate. It's very annoying after 30 miles when your arms and back get achy.
@@youthfulrider407 ok but do you think the engine on the r125 and mt125 can handle does speeds like 120 kmh to 110 kmh for some hours? without getting destroyed
Stay away from ktm 125s made in India and you can tell the difference in quality between the bigger bikes that are made in Austria 2010 dukes had an issues with the wiring loom rubbing on the headstock ktm new this and would replace under warranty but that should have been a recall
Should check out the Honda Varadero 125 I think 2003-2012/13 as they stopped making for them for a little while. V twin monster , massive adventure bike, good sound and plenty of pull on it. My bikes vids are of me on mine if you wanna check them out
