my main issue with comparing hyperbloom raiden to nilou as dps roles is that raiden is just a EM electro bot that you could swap out for kuki with similiar results sometimes even better. nilou is irreplacable

After reading all the comments on his video and the stuff here, I think we're at a point where "best DPS", even with F2P limitations, has so many variables in play that it's impossible to make a fair ranking. Now, highest DPS *comps*, would be another story.

navia deserves to be as high as zajef put her, she's so f2p friendly, super versatile in team building and gear options, doesn't need extremely high investment to do good damage, really solid and reliable unit

Yae over clorinde and removing childe, hmm don't quite agree on that one mr jef. He's been very relevant ever since his release so long ago and that's for a reason. If anything he's more f2p than some of the other units mentioned. Also, I disagree on xianyun being a niche support, she is good for xiao, gaming, diluc, bennett, hu tao, wriothesley, yae, navia, synergies very well with furina who's one of the best units in the game and she makes even the weaker characters deal big damage making them more relevant than ever, like plunge xinyan, etc

To this day people underrate Navia so much. I dunno if it's just because she's not that popular with speedrunners but most people are not speedrunners and can't get their results out of a character like Hu Tao or Childe

CO Wrio over Childe!?! Also, personally feel people underrate Raiden considering flexibility of teams. She can be used as E bot in hyperbloom, quickbloom, quicken, hypercarry, and national, which means she can deal with enemies with various elemental requirements (like SIMON, dendro peacock, and multi-element inquisitous baptist). And she has pretty good interruption resistance during burst, which is something so many DPSes lack. Also, Clorinde instead of Keqing is a bit questionable, I really don't like how she is locked into a stance and can't really move.

Another L take by zajef. Childe is more f2p friendly than many units in his list. And his team clears all abyss, single and multiple target as well as element and dps check.

Don’t agree with removing Childe from this list because I’ve played him on my friends totally f2p account with mid artefacts as well and still managed to 36 star abyss cycle But I’m too biased anyway because he’s my favourite character

As a mobile user, I refuse to claw for a game like genshin. Leave that for the moba's 😂

TGS focused too much on sheet damage here, and forgot that navia specifically, just performs better than sheet damage would suggest, relative to the competition. There is no world in which raiden, rizzly and clorinde clear faster than navia, even at f2p investment. Only issue with navia is that she doesn't really have an above average f2p weapon.

As zajef said, this tier list whilegives you an idea of who does good damage...but it is indeed dependent on a lot of factors. Nilou is much easier to build compared to all of them here. Or rather her bloom team is very low investment for the huge damage that it can dish out. SO that makes nilou better than all if that's what you are interested in. Neuvilette with high enough investment is good enough to run solo or with subpar invested team mates(they are just extra bonus over his already massive damage)..so in that regard he is the best. Raiden is arguably the most value out of one character pull since she can be slotted in a lot of teams for both her on-fiedl and off-field damage/electro application....in that regard raiden is the best even though building her is a little tricky(not tough, but if you arent going for her weapon and not running hyperbloom, you gotta fish for her best in slot, and then balancing her stats also isn't the easiest thing) If you don't have Yelan and Xingqiu(double hydro core) both, Hu Tao might fall off or not feel comfy enough to play. Xiao falls off if you don't have C6 faruzan(and if you have xianyun, c6 faruzan, furina and primordial jade winged spear..he becomes soooo good) Navia is amazing for her front loaded damage and the fact that she can make use of the reactions unlike other geo..AND she scales off atk. So she has much more flexible team comps than lets say, Itto. Alhaitham does a lot of damage even with a subpar build and he only really wants electro application from his teammates to do his thing, but his playstyle has a learning curve if you wanna make full use of his kit. If you can do it, and have a good fischl or raiden or even kuki, he is a good option. Arlecchino and Chlorinde also are in the same boat, as they also employ a skill mechanic that you need to be aware of to maximize damage. If you can do that, arlecchino might be the one for you. So yea, the tier lists are by no means the final verdict of which character is good and which is not. It ll depend from person to person. Same with akasha rankings btw. You with your top 20% Hutao might be doing more damage than me and my top 2% Hutao due to the skill difference and the investment in our supports.

I don't think removing Childe is fair, if you look up abyss usage rate he has barely ever fallen below A-tier if ever. He's always higher than Wriostly and Navia at the least.

Can any of these characters do a 2 cost run as good as childe ? How the Fk is he not f2p You literally only need kazuha to get a team that works with every scenario (And yes, xingqiu can work instead of childe but as a f2p account, leaving xingqiu or yelan for other teams is really comfortable)

Hu Tao is eternal, despite the hate. She released nearly 3.5 years ago in 1.3, and honestly I think a lot of the hate is simply because of that. She just keeps getting upgrades that keep her planted in the highest tier.

childe not being top ten is wrong and crazy. 3rd best team for aoe on this list and every abyss has aoe chambers since 1.0. Also uncounterable from shields due to hydro pryo beating all shields.

IMO if you're excluding battle pass weapons you should also limit gacha weapons from standard as well, maybe to anything above R1. A lot of people don't pull on weapon banner or just have bad luck so you can't assume everyone will have whatever random weapon you want. For example, I didn't get a Dragon's Bane for over two years, including from the first weapon banner I pulled on where it was in focus. This isn't a criticism of Zajef, it's not his criteria, just feel like it needs to be said with how a lot of this gets thrown around. People don't realize how much bad luck can screw you out of things that seem "standard" to others for anything that isn't actually guaranteed.

Feels good to see big guys like zajef and tgs agree that alhaitham is still number 2. I don't know where people got this idea that arlecchino is better than alhaitham or is even on the same level as neuvillette.

4:21 Hu tao works great on mobile but a mobile is not a keyboard, you shouldn't use 1 finger per button (that can be optimal if you're Bowtae but not otherwise) instead, move you your thumb between the 2 buttons, it took me a few minutes to 8N2CJ when I got Hu tao and later 11N2CD with C1 even though I'm not particularly good with execution in games in general, I'm just used to playing games on mobile (like most people who play on mobile) so you can't say that she feels bad on mobile from playing her once especially since I'm assuming that you don't often play games on mobile Personally, if I tried playing on keyboard, it would take me days to feel somewhat confortable and weeks to play really well Why would charge shoting be an issue with Childe ? It's not like his charged shot are any different from charged shoters like Lyney and Ganyu, I often do the charged shot on him when I play him 8:01 sure but he is still great if you have to dodge once, which is usually not even the case because you can walk backwards a bunch, especially if you place your bennett circle correctly and you can burst to not waste time when the enemies are attacking, for exemple, I was able to one-rotate the triple Kenkis last abyss by doing 2 charged shots Q 2 more charged shots E, no dodging needed Charged shots let you move freely so you can dodge a lot of attacks just like Yae 12:00 I am, generally

Personally, i wouldn't put Raiden anywhere near top 10. Her only team where she isnt a straight downgrade to other units is Hyperbloom but even the best hyperbloom teams (such as Alhaitham qb or cyno qb) dosnt run Raiden as the trigger. Raidens other teams have way better options to use than her (national - Childe and Sucrose, Overload - Arle and Clorinde, Double hydro- Hutao, Arle etc).

Fav sword... Took me one year to get the first one as a day one player. Now I have 2 R5 lvl 90, and once a week I'm thinking about leveling another.

I feel Alhaitham being up on 2nd just doesn't make much sense when Nahida exists. like sure, this is about "dps" charas. But if you're having Nilou bloom & Raiden hyperbloom in the mix, you might as well have Nahida hyperbloom in the mix too & everyone knows that is much stronger than Alhaitham's teams + a whole lot easier to build.

On mobile aiming suxx and looking around you suxx too so I like characters with good auto targeting, Wanderer does that and you feel your back protected when you're up in the air versus a melee character

If you have Yae, then you should have Yelan tbh. I wont add Furina since shes a dps support hybrid, but Yelans buff is not enough to justify her being a support.

I haven't ever played genshin on pc so I dont know what to compare to but on mobile, i can pretty comfortable jump cancel with 2 fingers by just moving my thumb fron charged attack button to the jump button And i don't own her, so my only practice is from events C1 is way better though

i just use neuvi(with eternaltomes) furina kazuha 1st half and navia(with verdict) double pyro second half... i never miss 36 stars.. genshin is easy if u build meta characters and play with them.

I never understood why Alhaithem is seen as above Nilou when they are very similar and cover ST/AOE respectively. Like Alhaithem is ew in massive aoe and the same goes for Nilou against big bosses. So why is Alhaithem better? His niche is far more crowded as well.

As a Hu Tao semi-main who plays on mobile and 300+ ping, I can do jump cancels just fine. I get 8N1CJ + burst in double hydro + Zhongli team. And it's about to be better once I snag Xianyun on her rerun since I recently got Bennett C6 and Furina!

In fact , you can do charge attack cancels with hu tao on mobile with only thumbs you just need to move you thumb🙂 I've been using her since ever and her team with furina xianyun feels as good as neuv you just need to get the momentum with your thumb

I think zajeff is flawed in the way he compares wriostley and childe: Assume we considering a kazuha, xiangling and bennet core Xiangling helps wrio deal more melt damage while childe helps xiangling deal more vape damage We can definitely say that xiangling is a better dps then both of them so from this we can say that chidlr is a better dps "Oh but then its just xiangling dealing the damage." Just as we considered nilou's blooms damage nilous damage, xiangling doesnt get this damage in aoe outaide of childe teams (ik xinque does work for single target tho) But what about wrio freeze teams, well freeze teams dont always work, they often feel clunky and no xiangling and no melt just means the team dps is lower so why even compare it besides when talking about comfort (which i do think childe international is an extremely comfortable team)

Lyney is high risk high reward. Lyney is like Eula. Reset galore. He might get the best speed run. But it's not a comfy clear. To me meta. Isn't about how fast you can clear. It's how consistent you can clear with as minimal effort. And that's what makes neuvillette so broken. Ease of use and comfort. Especially on mobile, is invaluable

Finally someone Aknowledge the control problem on mobile. Hu Tao and Childe were my first 5* 3 years ago, I am on mobile. I genuinely hated their gameplay even if they were my favourite characters. I managed to learn how to play Tartaglia but I did struggle a lot with Hu Tao. I even built her for years and get Homa for her but I just couldn’t jump cancel. Now I’m finally at peace to accept that I just do the full animations and target in a way I have to run the least. But when you think the fact that the c1 helps with the stamina, it almost feels like paying to fix a bug on mobile. She is still good tho !

I would argue Furina does more dps even off field than a lot of the units here same with Nahida

Hu Tao definitely feels terrible on mobile, I chose to pull for a Yoimiya over Hu Tao for that exact reason

Hu tao is not that bad on mobile. U just need to be quick with ur thumbs and stop playing with ur fingers. Support the underneath of your phone with your pinky fingers If ur a long time mobile player its not hard, but I get that casual mobile players it will be hard. I struggle a lot with the flight mechanics in Inazuma/Sumeru, and I play games like IDV lol.

I have to say you and tgs are one of my favorite' theory crafter. Just wanted to inform you whenever you speak there is a fan sound, and when you stop speaking it's total silent the sudden changes every time you stop speaking really annoyed me. Secondly, I think hutao charge plunge is not that hard to play if you played enough, personally I am a 70%pc and 30%mobile player, and I beat all the spiral abyss with my phone, and hutan is awesome. Anyway good stuff

So i put the ten wishes from Neuvilette Into a abandond ar 18 account and got Nilou, Who is the most balanced 5 star dps for a second team?(non Hydro/Dendro) Balanced = fit in many teams! I didn´t have Al Haitham and Kokomi in my other account so I want them too and nahida is locked anyways. mostly Free to Play maybe Welkin moon from time to time and one or two BP weapons.

I feel like you are judging something that shouldn't be judge. Whether or not a character should be valued based on their ease of play in different platform is not a valid point. Each player will have their own expertise in the way they control a character on their playing platform. You think mobile control is hard, because your muscle memory is lacking in that department. The same is true for those who only played on mobile but never on PC before. I started on Mobile and I primary play games on mobile, so when I tried the PC version, my playing skill dramatically drop. But it steadily improve by the day as I keep practicing and playing on this new platform. Now both Mobile and PC feel exactly the same to me. If you have any real experience and training at all in this department, I don't think you will ever judge this point to begin with. Given that, I think there is a lot of bias put toward this opinion of yours. Which is not great for this type of video.

The fact that Lyney isn't here is shocking to me, even with the chance of him losing a few shots here and there, i think people severely underestimate him, his damage is just incredible, to the point where losing shots doesn't matter.
