Now that's a show I haven't seen for years. I used to watch Jonny Quest all the time on Cartoon Network when I was a kid. I also remember seeing Space Ghost, Birdman, SWAT KATS, Thundercats and Captain Planet. Oh my goodness, I'm showing my age LOL !!

@@TheClif39648 just remember that the theme you hear on the Pokemon anime is not the same exact tune you hear in the Pokemon video games main theme. The main theme from the Pokemon video game does play throughout the anime during exciting moments but that's not the same song

Wish Gargoyles were on this list. That theme was so powerful. 1000 years ago, superstition and the sword ruled. It was a tome of darkness, a world of fear, the age of Gargoyles.

There should be two separate categories for this: best 90's theme with lyrics, and best 90's them that's solely instrumental. Although you should probably still categorize based on kids shows, dramas, etc.

Although, I'd still classify themes as instrumental where there are a small amount of lyrics ("The Simpsons") or the lyrics/narration ultimately take a back seat to the music ("Gargoyles').

Fun Facts: Most of the cast from Tiny Toons got cast in Animaniacs. And Randy Roguel wrote music for Batman The Animated Series (and won an Emmy) before he begged for audition for Animaniacs. He auditioned with "Yakko's World " a song he had in his back pocket because he wrote for his son so he could learn some Geography.

Sadly i think these are the show that we on a TV station for a long time like how the First 3 seasons of Pokemon was on Kids Wb for a good while and how Powers Ranger and X-men were on fox kids for a long time. Sadly Sailor Moon was hot potato to a lot of TV channel then sent to cable for the early Toonami Afternoon spot. When these theme songs play most people would know what TV station they were on in a second.

Actually, “Saved By the Bell” is eligible for an ‘80s list, as it made its NBC debut in 1989.

FYI: The Simpson' first episode was a Christmas special that aired in December 1989, but did NOT have the theme song. The Simpsons series premiered in January 1990 with the iconic Simpsons theme song, so YES it was a 90s theme song

God, I feel so lucky to have lived my childhood in both the 90's & the 2000's. My older sisters & cousins sharing all the best 90's cartoons with me and getting to witness the premiers of shows like "SpongeBob", "Pokemon" (US), "Yu-Gi-Oh!" (US), "Ed, Edd, n' Eddy", "Justice League", etc.

For the UK and Ireland, I nominate Art Attack. Another guitar heavy smash. Also, 1998 brought us a theme which changed the perception of a whole TV genre. Game shows went from cheesy to high drama overnight thanks to the theme tune to Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, which became a soundtrack of my teens.

I am a 90’s kid and I 100% remember Pokémon. I’m pretty sure a lot of 90s kids remembers Pokémon. It’s still going on till this day. I remember a lot of 90’s tv shows & sitcom’s. I miss Saturday morning cartoons. They need to bring that back. Kids today won’t know good cartoons and how Saturday morning cartoons was so special to us. It’s such a shame they stopped doing that. Maybe someday they will bring it back.

Great list. It made me super nostalgic. All of the Nickelodeon Theme Songs from the 90's are also worthy of Honorable Mention. I loved the Rugrats Opening, Hey Arnold, Are You Afraid of the Dark? All That, Kenan & Kel, Doug, Rocket Power, Salute Your Shorts, and a whole bunch of other theme songs but these were off the top of my head.

Buffy is one of the best instrumental openings from the 90s, along with Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place and Twin Peaks, while some of the best ones with lyrics are Party of Five, Dawson’s Creek, The Nanny and Captain Planet. The top two in this list were pretty obvious picks, haha

Yes the X-Men theme does sound like that Whitney Houston song, the coincidental thing about that is, her song came out two years before the X-Men show debuted. I wonder if that's where it came from.

Kind of similar but not exactly, its not like the case where Houston used Dolly's "I will always love you" and had to pay royalties to Dolly. Theres lots of tunes that sound similar but aren't necessarily identical. This case its similar but not enough for say Houston's family to get royalties.

Surprised “ Boy Meets World “ wasn’t on this list or the honorable mentions . Then again in seasons 1-3 was just a wacky little score while seasons 4 & 5 were Instrumentals . The show didn’t have an actual theme song til seasons 6 & 7 .

Oh my gosh. I remember back when Pokemon was the huge thing for little boys. I used to babysit a lot back then as I was in my late teens/early 20's. One of the families I sat for asked me to help with their son's birthday party, which was Pokemon themed. At one point, all the kids sat down in the living room to watch a video of Pokemon cartoons. Every time a new episode started, the entire room of 8 year old boys would sing along with the theme song. I went home that night with the damn song stuck in my head. I can laugh at it now, but I was pretty annoyed at the time. Lol

Theme tunes I remember well from the 90s other than what was mentioned in the video: Keenan & Kel Round the Twist 3rd Rock from the Sun - It is quite unique with the animated moving planets in the into and I liked the guitar in it The Mask: Animated Series - I loved the first series theme, wasn't as keen on the second version as much but the original still sticks in my head to this day Home Improvement Tales from the Cryptkeeper Earthworm Jim Goosebumps Big Bad Beetleborgs - I remember the intro more than I do much about the actual series though.
