I think it would be much more awesome if you could just show the pictures much longer or you could just show the picture as long as you are talking about it because your videos are kind of long and we tend to forget what figure you are talking about... anyway, thank you if you're going to take this as a positive feedback from us subscribers... by the way, i'm such a big fan of your humor... :)
Totally agree with this ... Including the comment about his awesome humor. Typically a lot of humor in these RU-vid review videos are horrendous. Particularly dork humor. But this guy is actually genuinely funny.
This guy has a really good thing going here . Very articulate knowledgeable sounding dude . The only thing is.....show the pictures for the duration of each description . Showing the pictures for 5 seconds is a huge huge mistake . Your channel is already awesome. If you fixed this one simple thing I would be totally hooked. Keep the pictures up there through each entry/description !! Also maybe more pictures if possible . If u can't find any than no worries ....just leave the pictures up there .
Not to mention the head sculpt is way off, from the original animation model. The ears are wrong, the eyes are wrong, and the paint rubs off with only light handling. The joints have been fixed, as I haven't had any issues with breakage, but that initial assortment were like glass. It scared off a lot of collectors.
For me Mezco Dark Knight Returns is the best, Dc Collectibles Batman Hush and Batman from Batman a Son a tie in second, third should be Batman Amored from Alex Ross Justice
Great list. That Armored Ross one is gorgeous but more like a stature in terms of articulation. Not that the NECA figures are exactly crazy poseable, of course. Ross Batman probably would have been in my 11-15.
+Toy Galaxy I really LIKE the anniversary Neca Mike Keaton Batman, Think it's perfectly screen accurate to Keaton who is my favorite Batman awesome review.
I didn't collect almost any of the Batman '66 figures from the last few years because they all have that stupid joint in the middle of the chest that I hate.
No way in hell is that ICONS figure the best Batman figure. His sculpt does look beautiful from a distance. But up close, he's just too tiny and his arms are disproportionally short compared to his legs. I question whether this Batman is actually Bruce Wayne or Dick Grayson, which would explain his tiny size. In any event, the DCSH black Batman update deserved #1. But there are many, many Batman figures not even included here, like DC Direct Search For Kryptonite Batman, or Batman & Son, New 52 Batman, etc. Some are more articulate while others completely capture his likeness in great detail.
Late reply but it's been confirmed by people that OT IS dick grayson. Dick has always been a tad smaller than bruce. It's his strength that separates him from bruce
An advise :fans would like to see the figures for longer time. They have to watch you instead. You should have displayed the figures and commenting simultaneously better as putting the pictures on for one second.
Am I the only one who absolutely loves the Batman Arkham Asylum series 1 Batman? I love the sculpt and the articulation doesn't bug me. I really enjoy the difference variants of the sculpt from the Arkham City line with the different gauntlets and boots. I don't know what it is and that figure that I love so much but there hasn't been a better Batman figure for me. I know people don't like how many times he's been rereleased with different paint jobs and retools but I always welcome that figure Into my collection and I'm always happy to have more variants of him from different releases.
The style in which this video is produced bothered me. Hear me out. Very few pictures of the actually figures were shown to accompany the narration. While the host talks about all the paint apps and accessories, perhaps adding pictures of said things would’ve helped a novice of DC figures get a better idea of what the host was talking about. Just an idea, and that was my first impression upon seeing the video.
I like the review but mines differs greatly. 1. Mezco Batman (TDKR) 2. Greg Capullo Batman 2015 3. Mezco Armored Batman (BvS) 4. Mafex Batman (BvS) 5. Neca Batman 1989 6. DC Collectibles Batman Arkham Origins 7. DC Direct Batman New 52 8. DC Icons Batman 2016 9. DC Essentials Batman New 52 10. DC Collectibles Batman Animated Series (2015)
It's tough because there are SO many Batman figures out there there's no way to even take a fair survey of what's available. I eliminated or downgraded the Mezco stuff because I'm just not a fan of cloth outfits at that scale. I ALMOST included the DC Collectibles BTAS figures but the poseability is worse than the old Kenner figures and they are so fragile. Once again, great list! Thank again for posting!
I'd put Toybiz Batman up against MOST modern figures. Mego as well. We'll see if they have the same kind of influence, and resilience in 30 years that those figures had. For me, "best" means more than detail and articulation. No one wants a "best" list that's all figures that came out last year.
I gotta say I personally love the S.H. Figuarts Dark Knight Batman. He's got better articulation then most DC icons figures and also has awesome accessories.
DC Direct released a 2009 4 Arkham Asylum action figure box set with a comic book included. This set featured a bodybuilder muscled batman in a classic looking costume. It wasn't based on any particular era but remains one of my favorite Batman figures.
I have the blue variant of the 2007 DC superheroes one. I picked it up at a vintage toy shop for like $20 in package. It IS the Batman figure that beats all other Batman digures
You can put the DC Superheroes Batman at number 1 if you count the DCUC Batman Legacy Modern Age Batman as the same figure since it is except for the head and the color scheme. It's still available at reasonable prices on the secondary market, and all you have to do to make it look better is swap heads with any standard DCUC Batman to get rid of the Sinestro Corps Batman head.
I think he was put down due to the price. Ease of attainability seems to be among the major factors of the list, hence why the DC Icons Batman won at Number one, even edging out the superior DCSH Batman.
Lol ok your last comment answers why Arkham Batman wasn't on the list. Overall great choices. However my favorite is the legends of the dark Knight dark Knight detective Batman. Old school, ie meh, articulation but I love the sculpt and massive voluminous Kelly Jones inspired cape. Love the list and watching more!!!
i have the dc total heroes batman figure that is an awesome figure hes nicely poseable and comes with two batarangs and his grapple gun hes my favorite batman figure and should have at least had an honorable mention but the ones you listed are also cool good pics plus batman is my all time favorite superhero and would like to collect other figures of him a big thumbs up :3
My favorite Batman figs aren't even Bruce Wayne. 1. Knightfall Batman - Azrael as Batman w/ rubber cape 2. DC Universe - Classics 2 Pack Knighfall - Azrael Batman
The 2007 Mattel DC Superheroes Batman recycles almost the entirety of their Select Sculpt figure from the previous year. Aside from wearing a blue costume, rather than the 2007's black, and a few small details like the belt buckle, it's virtually the same top-tier Batman figure, but can be found on the secondary market for much, much less. I happened upon it by chance, in store, in 2006, and it's been my favorite Batman ever since.
Mezco One:12 BvS Batman, Mattel Select Sculpt Black n Grey Batman, Neca Keaton Batman, Mattel Arkham Origins Batman, SHF Bale The Dark Knight is the top 5 for me.
what about the Toys R Us exclusive Mattel batman and robin 2 pack batman, if you're asking why the 2 pack version well thats because while the figure is the same as the regular 2003 matel batman (i believe it was 2003) the cape in the 2 pack was much longer and wider giving it that beautiful cloth flow to it allowing it for some nice posing,i have mine displayed on the corner of my cupboard with the cape draping down each side of my cupboard, when i open my window and the wind blows it just looks lovely. anyway sorry i had to make mention of it.
You over look a lot actually but I'm going to point out just 3 main ones. 1.Batman from Dc collectable Batman the animated series n Batman the new adventures...They hav great likeness, posture n maintain that artistic noir feeling from the animation plus a bunch of accessories n a dozen of characters n vehicle. They r like the upgrade version of the 90's Kenner's figures. 2.The Mafex Batman from BvS was a great piece too with great likeness, posture n greatttt details n a whole bunch of accessories plus quite an amount of articulation with bending wired cape.IMO It was well executed. 3.Shfiguarts Batman the Dark knight version IMO was well done in terms of posture coz we've seen a lot of this Dark knight version came out but not quite capture the right feeling when u looked at them due to certain posture that r off BUT! Unlike those this Shf Dark knight success in doing so their only flaw was the wrong kind of fabric(too light) n wire used for the cape which is too thick n does not bend n stay in shape so well like the Mafex but it was their first attempt sooo I forgive them lol...Still the posture was the closest to how he should b coz there were 2 spot the got right which other brand fails to do so. N is the abs n the shoulder pads.
Yes, my black dcsh batman is a masterpiece and I agree. I have him squaring off with the dc multiverse mutant leader in my display! Maybe you should give arkham city a chance Dan Larson, it is not a comic style at all, so not iconic so not including the figures is understood, it is inspired by BTAS though so try er out bud. Nice top ten! Batman would take out Supes no problemo though.
Mattel's First Appearance Batman and Mattel's Superfriends animated series Batman with c-clip fabric cape, batarang and grapple gun are great for me. Mattel's Dark Knight Returns figures were good also.
SH figuarts Dark Knight being #1, Mafex Batman Begins being #2 the posable cape and interchangeable parts only down side is buying other Mafex figures to get those parts.
Wonder if this list still holds up to dan's and producer greg's eyes? Specially with all the mafex dk trilogy essentials shf ninja and dk… you know what? I demand a new list of the top ten modern batman 4 inch to 7 inch i guess batman figures 9 if you want to include playarts And yeah we all had such high hopes for the icons line(sigh)
but do you remember and final crisis when the darkseid and dasad hooked Batman up to the machine at the end and tried to put his brain in essence and their clones and minions first of all why would they do that that's what you asked yourself he's just a human he has no superpowers wrong. now this is Apocalyptian and Technology and Batman destroyed the Apocalyptian torture machine they had him hooked up to with his mind. Batman drove the Clones things insane. just with his brain. The Clones that Batman were attached to we're supposed to drain his brain and make them Dark Side soldiers but Batman drove them insane this is not Earth Technology beyond anything any human can comprehend but not Batman. No gadgets this is a human being Plus the Green Lantern Guardians on Oa said they knew when Superman was leaving Krypton they new Wonder Woman was being created on themyscira and then Green Lantern ask what about Batman and they looked at each other and said Batman is an oddity we cant explain that one. Really? The Oa'ins, man they've been here since the beginning of the universe. that tells you about Batmans brain
Proud to say I own the blue and the black and grey Mattel dc superheroes batman figures as well as the black mezco, they're all incredible and I'd highly recommend them
No Mego Comic Action Hero? Most of these are more collector figurines than figure. Action Figures are toys. Do a top 10 list of figures you would actually play with.
I find DC figures so confusing, there are so many lines and different scales, Unlike Marvel with their consistent legends line. You never mentioned the Jim Lee Hush line, I got a few of those.
im still waiting on my best batman. and they would be the upcoming justice league tactical suit batman and the upcoming 2 pact which has a awesome looking batman and a joker style alien from the dark horse comic
Hi Toy Galaxy, will you be updating your Top 10 lists periodically? In the next iteration, I hope Mezco's BvS Batman (or the SDCC Exclusive Armored Batman) gets included in the list. It is, by far, the best Batman figure for the movie license, even topping out Hot Toy's figure.
I like the fact that you think we'd rather wathc you awkwardly stare at the camera than just show the pictures of the toys. "cause who cares about what the toys look like no?
How can you say he's not the smartest? Batman is said to be one of the best detectives on the planet. You need to be smart for that. You say he's not smart but then say he's clever.... oh dear.
The Kenner batman does not deserve to be in front of the Neca 89 batman the Mezco batman should be number 1 and the Neca bats should be at least number 3
I've wanted that DCSH Batman for YEARS. Dan's right in saying that it's hard to get, and the ones that you can find are well over $100. I do own the blue-and-gray variant, which I was able to pick up on eBay for nowhere near as much as the prized black-and-gray version.
