I remember how ridiculously OP the Ringed Knight Paired GSwords were before they got nerfed, they were pretty much the only weapon you ever saw in PvP when the DLC first came out and they basically made you invincible in PvE. Good to see they’re still really really good while not being completely busted
Yeah, it kinda was like the DS3 version of Rivers of Blood on release. Not even remote similar moveset, but both were insanely OP and ppl abused the shit out of the weapon art in PVP
My personal favorite is the Gotthard Twinswords as I definitely prefer them over the Sellsword winblades. I'm sure the twinblades have significantly higher dps, but I love the range on the twinswords and the rolling L1 poke attacks are amazing on this weapon.
I remember playing DS3 with my brother and finding the sellsword twinblades pretty quickly. I also discovered pretty quickly that they were completely busted, but my brother insisted that the Farron Greatsword was better (tbf, it does have a much cooler moveset); so, for shits and giggles, we did a little dps check after maxing them both out and buffing ourselves with every buff we could think of, testing both weapons against Nameless King. My brother went first and died about thirty times before proudly beating him in about four minutes (obviously he quit out to let me fight the boss afterwards). I went up next and proceeded to obliterate NK in five tries and two minutes. So yeah, I had no doubt that the Winblades would take the top spot.
Lol, to be fair, you had more experience than your brother simply due to the fact that you watched him try the boss during thirty attempts. Not comparable at all 🤣
@@arkeez1181 Nah, we both already knew about him thanks to some youtube videos. We only really learnt by actually fighting him, and even then, I didn't learn much my first time around, since I killed him so quickly.
@@arkeez1181 I didn't learn much from my brother because I wasn't watching him. As I said, both of us had already seen videos of him, so I knew what he was capable of, and while I waited for my brother to finish, I read/kept the time for him. Sure, I could see the fight in front of me, but I wasn't focusing on it in the slightest. How big of an ego do you have to assume what random strangers on the internet can and can't do in their private life?
@@pietrocatalano4285 You’re the one having too big an ego to recognize that you’re not better than your brother lol. Literally you. Try to do better and improve on yourself 😂
Farron Greatsword is ol' reliable for me. Sweet anime combo attacks, wide sweeps, and the stagger potential for the knife and the greatsword itself make this king for me. If I'm gonna fight, I'll do it with style.
I stumbled on your Channel with the Elden Ring DLC and was hoping you might have videos for the older games as I've been replaying them and well, here I am not disappointed 😂 Keep it up my guy
Lothric Knight Straight Sword is one of my favorite weapons, it looks great aesthetically, it has best in class range, amazing moveset with the poking heavy attacks, amazing scaling with all types of infusions. Square off is also really good in DS3 for dealing with shielded enemies. But we all knew Sellsword Winblades would be number one because they’re just insanely broken and trivialize the game
Bro i LOVE the Great Mace! As soon as i saw a Cathedral Knight turn on the buff i knew i wanted to do the same with the Blessed Weapon miracle. It looks so cool!
Sellsword twinblades ruined my first experience with dark souls 3 so much that I still cant bring myself to like DS3 as much as 1 and 2 due to how easy the game gets.
@@DrooledOnused to dog on magic builds. Summoned a mage guy online for lothric fight and he slapped em in 30 seconds with this huge ass fire ball I was like damn lemme get some damage in😂😂
Why not just play with a different weapon I did the same thing and I was highkey mad confused cause I played ds3 after Elden ring and I was like damn wtf this game really ain’t that hard. Now I’m doing a frayed blade build for ng+
No Freyed Blade? It is the only weapon in the game that in some cases (if the enemy can be bled and leaves some big-ish opportunities to attack) can surpass even the sellsword twinsblades in DPS (by spamming the flurry weapon art).
@@twoshu8940ahhh yes. the greatsword that has more ar than most ultragreatswords/greataxes/greathammers and one of the best weapon arts for pve and pvp. how couldnt it be mid?
Love the LKGS. Lightning infuse on my str/fth build always catches invaders by surprise. They think they can block is and boom, lightning damage through the shield. And then the weapon art always catches them by surprise. Then R1 spam like a noob til they die.
Another great thing about the RKPGs; they might be the best anti-Friede weapon in the game. Specifically, the power stance moveset just absolutely bodies her; she has no poise, so she gets staggered by the entire run up leading to the first attack. And the second and third attacks have such wide coverage on their sweeps that they will catch her dodges 9 times out of 10, leading to her eating the full combo. Even if she tries to attack out of it, the hyper armor is so good that you'll usually just keep going and hit her anyway. I always dreaded that fight on NG+ runs until I tried the RKPGs, leading to the _only_ time I considered that fight to be anything even close to "easy."
Do game really need an anti-Friede weapon ? She is not that strong at all. It would take someone 3-4 try to beat her. I would place her with Lothric princes.
Black Knight weapons should at least be honorable mentions. Very high physical damage, great stagger potential and bonus damage against demons is very nice. Particularly the greatsword (not the ultra) is stupid good with perseverance allowing it to trade blows against basically anything. As a sidenote, LKGS works better with a Blessed infusion, since the faith scaling applies to both the physical and lightning damage.
When ds3 released I had like 700h in ds1+ds2 so the game was not hard at all for me, but picking up winblade as a starter class made the game piss easy
I still think the claymore has a place in this. It just does everything well. Great range, good damage, can be infused/buff, good weapon art, good moveset, not too heavy and can be picked after 5-10 minutes of gameplay.
Its a solid weapon but defo not the best. Or top 10 for that matter. Greatswords DS3 onwards have been the average class. The Jack of All trades. Good if ur not sure, but not on eof thr best options out there
I started as the Knight and fully maxed out that sword starting weapon for the whole game, same with the shield. I changed armour twice, once with the fallen knight armour and finished with the brass armour as i thought they looked cool! honestly I never thought to change my sword, once it starts getting upgraded it's just as powerful as any special sword and a lot lighter.
Did my first playthrough with dragonslayer greataxe (and yhorm’s machete before that) and I had lots of fun. Great weapons because of how fun they are.
Another UGS i really like has to be the astroa greatsword, you can basically have ANY build imaginable and still find some way to slap the astora greatsword
BTW for anyone who doesn't know. Curved greatsword 4th R1 attacks is stronger, faster and can't be parried, you also get a different sounds so you'll know.
Ik it’s not the best but farron greatsword will be the reason I remember this game, the move set is just so fun and cool. Hoping Elden ring dlc drops a weapon with a similar move set.
I beat the game once with the sellsword twinblades, then the frayed blade, and then the longsword and shield (knight starter gear). I cannot express how easy it was to beat the game with the longsword and I dont even know why
It has fast attacks with little lag and stamina consumption, so you can easily dodge or block after swinging, vs other weapons swing slower and you’re more likely to be stuck in lag or have low stamina so you can’t spam dodge or block afterwords. In other games the long sword does this too but the damage isn’t as good.
Just a slight addition to the straight swords: If you start leveling out your character and are able to level strength, dex and luck the hollow broadsword becomes the highest physical dps straight sword in the game. If you now pair it with lightning blade or something similar (like I said, we're talking about SL300+) you can spam R1 with the damage of ultra greatswords.
I like to keep it simple and the Great machette will always remain my favorite. those R1s are so damn satisfying. Yhorms Great machette is good too, but the stamina cost is a bit too high.
With the sellsword winblades getting all the attention no one remembers the grave warden twinblades :( it gets more dps against enemies that can bleed and works really damned well with a hollow/luck build
chaos blade is my favorite It's basically frayed blade with better scaling, more damage, and the ability to parry (even though frayed blade has my favorite moveset out of any weapon in the game) the 1% hp loss can be basically midigated with sun princess ring, a miracle, or the dragon greatshield making for an absolute monster of a weapon with damage close to winblades and the highest dex scaling in the game Doesn't tear through bosses as easily as winblades but it's free if you can beat champion gundyr (even though winblades are still more easily obtainable, those are blatantly broken) I wouldn't say it's better than winblades, and i'm not even sure if it's list worthy but it's definitely my favorite
Wolf Knight's greatsword is my favorite weapon by far, its not crazy op or anything i just beat the whole game with it and i never felt weak, truly underrated weapon
These past few months I've been replaying DS3 and even Bloodborne. Went back to Elden Ring and It's almost like starting over again. I keep forgetting to jump! But playing the old games have given me a whole new appreciation for Elden Ring..This time WITHOUT a crutch of Dragon Incantations!
first thing that tripped me up going back to ds3 was pressing X to pick up items and touch bonfires etc. instead of triangle. and then when playing elden ring again recently it tripped me up in the reverse 😅
I saw this then went for the great sword and loved it. Range is great and I became an absolute tank with the damage output and the hyper armor. I would personally suggest it
I started playing DS 3 for the first time and the weapon I'm useing is the SPIKED MACE with heavy infusion. I just love this weapon and the weapon art is amasing. I am planing to use it to the endgame.
brigand twindaggers imo are top 5 atleast. insane dps and very quick attacks so you can attack mid-combo on some bosses, quickstep not only has more s than normal rolling but can be used to move behind the enemy and secure multiple hits. not to mention they can be picked up after 2 bosses without any grinding
Fucking love the hollowslayer greatsword, absolutely huge pick. Would've liked to see the Old Wolf Curved Sword, but I can't pretend anything beats out the exile curved greatsword. OWCS was amazing in pvp back in the day though, was pretty rare so a lot of people just didn't see that weapon art come out. I miss this game so much.
The crucifix of the mad King is slept on so hard. 1. It deals dark damage 2. You can buff it with dark damage 3. You can wear the mask blindfold mask (adds dark damage) 4. It has a ridiculous amount of true combos (some that involve the weapon art that can deal 600+ DMG). I'd easily put this in top 5 weapons, maybe top 3. You can two shot people with this thing in PVP and drain bosses/stagger enemies in PVE.
imo the lkgs should be top 5. one of the most versatile weapons considering it's top tier for dex, strength and faith builds. it's also very viable to run it with a blessed infusion as opposed to a lightning infusion. midir is commonly cited as the toughest boss for most people and this weapon is pretty much tailor made to kill him.
I consider the Aquamarine dagger a top tier weapon for mages due it's light weight, fast dagger move-set, fast straight sword move-set when using it's skill, and it's pretty good scaling.
Here are my thoughts I'm surprised your top3 is kinda same with me Sellsword and LKS are obvious (Someone might prefer warden and longsword more maybe) And Exile greatsword is insane. Third is not obvious one but I agree with you Moonlight Greatsword is not great PVE weapon I would say. Not a good scaling/damage And there are many magic-resistant enemies in DS3. It's really critical Moonlight Greasword is better weapon than LKGS in PVE? I 100% disagree with this one I would not put Hollowslayer in top 10 too because whether enchantable or not in DS3 is important factor One weapon I would mention is Winged Knight Twinaxes in HM Third L1 moveset is bad but If you use only first two L1 it is incredible Thanks for great video
astora greatsword was pretty much as good as lothric knight greatsword, except heavy infusion. heavy A, sharp S, crystal/lightning S, chaos/dark A and A. good weapon art. bonus: in pvp you could do a nasty chasethebro true combo. 1 hit from straightsword, switch to Astora GS and do another R1 (but this time it had SS animation) and lasty, hit weapon art. the weapon art wasnt part of the true combo but it hit often, the double R1 was part of it tho.
Friede's scythe felt better when I used both of them when playing scythe's only play through, mostly because friede's scythe has more range and has more fun and better moveset which allows it to hit enemies with its sweetspots compared to something like corvian or great scythe's. And also it does more damage dispite having lesser scaling in dex, it's sweet spot works much different compared to corvian because for convian when you don't hit with sweetspot, it's damage is reduced by 10percent and Don't have any bonus for hitting with sweetspot either but friede gets 15percent more bonus damage for sweetspot and Don't lose any damage when not hitting with sweetspots.
The astora ultra great sword was the best for pvp hands down for the longest time because you couldn't parry the rolling or running attack. Then they patched it and ruined my day 😂
I like how you used some of the locations wherr its best to farm certain covenant items. I feel i killed those 2 knights at anor londo over 1000 times in the past few days lol
Amazing list, but man I was hoping to see Lorian's greatsword here. It's tied as my favourite weapon alongside Dragonslayer Greataxe. Nonetheless, happy to see the Dragonslayer Greataxe in the top 5, that weopon deals ridiculous damage with it's weopon art.
Just bought the game (After playing 1000+ hours of Elden Ring), I was wondering if I should try Corvian Scythe or Sellswords instead of the clumsy mining took thing Im using. :D
I wish u would title the segments of the video, i just like to look ahead at what u personally picked as i watch and learn about y u picked and where u ranked it all
exhile curved greatsword and dragon slayer great axe carried me so you got me there but…holy princes greatsword with its 2 great weapon arts and the spinning halberd should be mentioned
I have completed half of ds3 with simple broadsword😂it dosent even have good range but when i started using new swords ds3 becomes extremely easy for me
The straight sword r1 spamming is the very reason why I think dark souls 3 is the easiest souls game. I would just pick up the broad sword n go to town on everything til NG+20
Blessed drake blood greatsword Hollowslayer greatsword The absolute best moveset, with amazing poise, slow stamina cost, very high 3 hit combo potential (if you delay the third hit just right)
its a fun weapon and its convenient but you're better off with a normal pyro flame and a random straight sword or curved sword. you'll do more spell and weapon damage that way
