Scott ransom Eride - 180/180 29/29 - Best hard hitting emtb i have tested. 625 battery and the old Bosch system but an absolute blast to ride. More playfull than the numbers would suggest ;-)
Rider your a legend! I’m so glad your loving it! I was back on the bike after 2 months off with a broken shoulder and I had to take the Reign it’s just so confident and stable
Hi, I have a Reign Acoustic and I like it and am seriously considering the Reign E 0 , 1 or 2. It seems to be the best bang for your buck. How do you like the mullet. I'm thinking it would improve agility and tight cornering. Thanks for any input.
Orbea Wild is the sleekest, Ekano CF the most configurable, Kenevo the shredder and the Giant is a beast indeed - but from the whole bunch the Oscar goes to Wild(e). :)
You left the best until last. I love my raw carbon Crestline RS7550 Limited Edition 29/50. I went Fox Factory 38 grip2 with DHX2 Hope Tech4 V4 220 vented Love it!
Nice Job! I’ve got the Kenevo and love it. I kitted it out with TRP DHR-EVO brakes, AXS Dropper, We are One Carbon Wheels, and custom tuned avalanche suspension hybrid coil damper up front in the Boxxer and the avalanche Woodie shock in the rear.
Sam the Pole Sonni is a weapon. We learned a lot this year and put all that knowledge into the Sonni. I could drop by on our way to Lousa for winter testing if you want to try one out?
I got a 2023 kenevo comp a few weeks ago for 30% off. Awesome bike, fox 38 fork, linkglide drivetrain, slx brakes. Only perceived downside is the 500wh battery, however, it hasn’t held me back at all so far, and i can upgrade to 700 if need be.
Just purchased the Husqvarna MC5 3 days ago. Glad I didn't see this review first or it may have cost me a considerable amount more 🤣 Very happy with my decision for a first mountain bike coming from dirtbike background at over 40 years of age 🤩
Nice video man 👏👍 All these bikes are great! I'm loving the Propain Ekano 2 CF, for the new color "Mighty Mango Matte", the brand new sram eagle powertrain transmission, and the customize possibilities!
Hey Sam, nice list and some great bikes but no Pivot Shuttle LT for you? I'm coming off a Gen3 Levo and just picked up the 2023 Shuttle LT Team and all I can say is WOW! That bike is so much fun and just plows through technical jank. Def one to try out if you haven't already. Keep pumping out the great content!
i have the nduro 7. its 27kg and a fat bitch to slap around! it is a bit slow steering at low speed but is totally planted on the downs. ups are as easy as farting and just as fun. good selection here Sam ❤
All the bikes mentioned are top...but you missed one: new Lapierre GLP 3, which I am thinking about buying, I am between this and that Propain CF! Waiting for that Crestline review and if possible, get your hands on the Lapierre too! Good job!
It’s hard to find a bad bike these days. There are a couple of bikes that easily could have made this list. The Yeti 160e and the new Alloy Intense Tazer MX Pro are probably not available in Europe but are both outstanding bikes. The Tazer, especially, is absolutely the best bang for your buck bike that you can buy today. Check out the specs. They are selling for $5999 US$ and for that $6k you don’t have to change a thing but the tires! Although it’s heavy, Intense made a great carbon bike loads better but in aluminum. It comes with an EP801 which seems like both the range and power are better than the old EP8.
I ride the Haibike Nduro6 so my favourite has to be the Haibike because of the colour and Fox shocks. If I change anything on my bike it would be a fox front shock purely for aesthetics as the bike is far more capable than I need but then my favourite car is the new Defender and I would never get that far off road to hinder its progress.
I know that the pivot shuttle AM doesnt have the required minimum160mm suspension...But, IMO, it is the ultimate emtb right now (ex equo with the Crestline) Bosch motor, sram T type derailler, best parts available etc Only problem with those is the $$$ !!!
Not one person in the comments or yourself mentioned the Norco Range VLT ? I’ve tried the Altitude, Ransom, Relay(yes I know it’s a little guy), Levo, and Trance. Range takes the cake !
Hey Sam. Slightly off topic but you are in the know🙃 The average men's height in the UK is 175cm. Why do most bike manufacturers have this as an in-between size? Surely capturing the majority of men in a size that is bang on makes good business sense. I think for all the money spent on R&D it is too simplistic to just say size up for stability and down for agility. Essentially you are buying a bike either too big or too small. Would love to know yours and everyone's thoughts. Even better, the thoughts of the bike designers.
Hey John honestly, I don't know all bike manufacturers are different, but it's really good to see people like Specialized making six sizes in the E bikes
Funny how perception is subjective,. I've just removed the Orbea from my shortlist based on the looks - so plain, basic, skinny frame. Don't like it at all :)
Too much controversy in this video. For the Nukeproof it is not enough battery for you and on the next bike the Propain you are perfectly fine with the small 630WH battery? Interesting to see all the new models and that there is again some movement in the market
Hey mate let me explain myself better, the old Megawatt had a 630wh EP8 which is not great on range compared to a Bosch, Brose and Yamaha with the same size battery. The new Propain has has a 630wh and a 250wh range extender so it’s perfect. I hope that makes sense
@SamsBikes my concern is who will buy it, unfortunately there are many out there who buy insolvent bike companies and run them into the ground leaning completely on legacy names without providing the quality and service those legacy names were famous for
While you did a good job reviewing all of these, it's frustrating watching all of these reviews from Europe, only to find that most of the bikes listed aren't available in the States. It seems like there really aren't much in the way of good RU-vid channels on this subject that are from the US.
