Top 10 BEST Episodes of Attack on Titan

1. From you, 2000 years ago 2. Final Chapter 2 3. Friends 4. Memories of the Future 5. Hero 6. Dawn of Humanity 7. War Hammer Titan 8. Final Chapter 1 9. Declaration of War 10. Warrior Friends is probably the most profound/mature chapter Isayama ever wrote, followed by Bystander. It’s like they belong to a different genre, while clearly less hype than the other top eps, I think it has a certain artistic quality and writing I will never forget.

I think this was a pretty good list and hard to argue with. I would add two honorable mentions with "Perfect Game" and "Reply". Erwin's speech to the Scout recruits in "Perfect Game" is so moving and truly brings meaning to all deaths in the series. "Reply" isn't quite as good compared to the rest, but the coup d'etat is executed quite well and changes the tone of the story. I also want to point out that I completely think it's fair to add the Final Chapters to the Top 10 list, I'm seeing criticism that people think it was not as good or is being inflated due to recency bias. Part 1 might be 'slightly' inflated, but you have to remember it has the following: 1. The opening sequence of the Rumbling that shows the sheer terror of what is taking place. 2. Hange's heroic sacrifice, but also Armin and Reiner volunteering to sacrifice themselves leading up to Hange stepping up. Part 2 is definitely not overrated, not only is The Battle of Heaven and Earth potentially the greatest battle of the series, you also get Armin's and Eren's final fist fight as titans, Eren's final memories with Mikasa and Armin, members of the Alliance becoming Titans to fight for Eren, THE REVELATION THAT EREN KILLED HIS MOTHER. It's got all of the great action scenes alongside a number of story developments that make it not only a perfect ending to the show, but among the top episodes of the series.

I can't make a top 10 because after my favourite 5 everything gets difficult, but I'd say: 1. Hero 2. Final Chapters (part 2) 3. Warrior 4. Memories from the future 5. Declaration of war Honorable mention: Perfect game Perfect game is simply there because Erwin's final speech into the charge in Hero is probably my favourite single moment in the series, but then again, everything actually goes down in Hero and I still think it's the best episode in the series. Everything just feels so intentionally perfect. The fact Eren and Armin - the original main characters - are the ones to take down the Colossal Titan - the original, iconic big bad - and they do it with just their old trusty blades instead of Thunder Spears... it's just basically a soft ending to the first part of the series and I think it's handled beautifully. The entire reconquest of Shiganshina is definitely my favourite arc in the series. However, the actual ending is almost as good. I think saying the final confrontation with Armin ruins Eren's character just means you didn't actually understand Eren. It's also sort of sad that a 19 year old can't show a human weakness or he's deemed "weak". That being said, if they kept it faithful to the manga it definitely wouldn't be this high because their confrontation in the manga is... very, VERY questionable. But they fixed it in the anime. Also holy shit Levi actually got hit no way

My spoiler for the show was going to the wiki and seeing the status of Paradise Island was “destroyed” Let’s just say that gave me false expectations and I really love the ending that they gave us

Please remove those two final chapters and add the episodes name "Bystander" and "assualt"! Assault : we finally get some satisfaction of blasting Marley and do some justice for paradise! Bystander : most emotional episode in my opinion!

I feel like, if we did not get the bullcrap with final season, final season part 2, final season last cour part 1, final season this, final season that, Attack on Titan could be considered the best manga/anime work of fiction without any argue.

Your list was great until you put the final episode in top 1. Dissapointing.

This list fkn sucks. Recency bias dialled to maximum. To think the final episode is better than Hero is blasphemy… where is Warhammer Titan and Assault episodes? Warrior down so low where it was one of the best directed episodes ever? Just plain recency bias. You majorly discredit the first two seasons out of favour to some deus ex machina revelations of S4… 10 years from now people will realise how much better S3 was than S4…
