This upcoming autumn, I will be adding a blazer, a classic white shirt and a black dress. I have chosen all of my fabrics. I have narrowed down the sewing patterns to choose from, both new and vintage. I will choose buttons soon. Thank you for this "countdown to classic class".
I love black, so I have three little black dresses, a black trenchcoat, some blazers in neutral colors ( 2 of them in black) and some tailored trousers. I can't wear white button downs, as they simply don't suit me. My torso is one size bigger than beneath, so white makes it look even bigger.
Neutrals are clasdy but can become boring. Red is a sexy colour. What about vests. They are versatile and add interest as few people wear them. Standbout from the crowd. Hats add interest too.
High heels are stupid and dangerous, not to mention out of style. I haven’t seen a woman wear them here in San Francisco for forty years (only in Insta/Pinteresr photos, where I know they’ll be instantly removed). A mid-heel is plenty for any occasion, however dressy.
