Man I wish I could enjoy fico di Amalfi since I do really love fig but for some reason when I tried it there was an instant cat urine/litterbox scent, it was so sharp and accurate to me of how much like pee it smelled like. Maybe the samples I've tried were really bad but I dunno. Of the figs I've tried recently, my favorites would have to be cedre figalia by atelier materi, invisible post by 19-69, and debaser, all with philosykos as a baseline to judge off of, since I love that.
Great recap of fig fragrances! I looove Diptyque's Philosykos EDP, but unfortunately doesn't last on my skin, otherwise I wouldn't be in search of THE fig perfume. Recently I discovered Fico Nero by Simone Andreoli and I was blown away how similar it is with Philosykos EDP, only Fico Nero has longevity that Philosykos is missing. What are your thoughts comparing them side by side, projection wise and overall similarity? Cheers
Totally agree! A lot of people compare anything with fig to Philosykos but Fico Nero truly does have major similarities to me too. I agree about the projection/longevity as well! Philosykos seems to have low to moderate projection/longevity at best, whereas Fico Nero seems to have moderate to good (even compared to the Eau de Parfum version of Philosykos). Gris Charnel is such a classy and elegant take on fig! I still need to try the Extrait version, since I've only tried the original as of right now. -Wes

Thank you so much! I just checked my fragrance sheet and I somehow still haven't tried Premier Figuier! I totally thought I had - thanks for bringing that up, I'm going to order a sample soon! I have a fragrance site launching this summer that's going to have a "best of fig" collection sample pack for sale so that's perfect timing. That one's not my type of scent more just because I personally dislike patchouli and most oceanic scents, so it's just about it not being my personal taste :)
