A lovely bit of nostalgia thanks. I used to love Versus Uomo, it was my signature scent in the 90s for many years, I had loads of complements wearing it. I wish they would bring it back. I lome the Bulgari Aqua scent too but like a lot of flankers they don't last long before they're discontinued.

I'd be surprised if Guerlain has indeed discontinued Mouchoir de Monsieur - it's been in production since 1904! My personal discontinued favourite is Phileas by Nina Ricci. I first bought this in a scent shop in St Helier, shortly after its launch in 1984, and wore it daily 'til it became imposssible to find in UK department stores. The closest fragrance I've been able to identify is Yatagan by Caron, 'though it's missing something compared with Phileas.

Some great choices here. Gucci Nobile is probably the one fragrance I miss the most. A wonderful fougere. I also want to mention Amouage. It's a pity they discontinued some of their best fragrances like Bracken Man, Silver Man and Myths Man.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming release from FragranceBuy's Fomo. It's almost certainly a clone of Envy. Kelan from SOSJ also mentioned a dollarstore version from EAD called Enthral that he also thinks is spot on. 5£ I think? 🤔 Might be worth looking into.

I have Dua River Fougere. It's pretty good but not as nice as the real thing. I have the real thing too. The vintage can bottle. Phoenix Shaving's clone of Rive Gauche Pour Homme is really good too.

@@michael_galicia I’ve tried it only once. From what I can remember it had a bit more of that star anise and dried down with a woody aspect. There is a seller at the mall where I live that has a bottle in his case I’ve thought of purchasing it but still haven’t. Back about 5 years ago he had loads of older / vintage bottles of great frags even older bottles of polo green and Fahrenheit , Dune , Jules . Gucci LIDGE He was asking good prices although still expensive. He said an eBay buyer came in and bought all of it. The Rive Gauche was overlooked I guess.

@@mrrob4590 Thanks so much for the comments. I purchased a vintage Cartier from a small shop and they gave me a 6 pack of Intense samples of like 2/3ml vials. So my only reference is of the Intense as I never had the vintage original bottle to compare it to.

You're spot on Dan. But more than a sign of the times, I think it's also a sign of the target consumer base. Seems the tap that's attached to old people's butts is running dry. 🍑 I think we just have to reach deeper. If you get my meaning. Maybe that'll learn 'em.

Mr Smelly I live your videos but this one is so depressing. You may as well call it “Great things you can no longer get.” Have you tried those reformulation companies that can make a bottle of a fragrance that is no Longer in production? Would be interesting to try one.

Bowling Green was a serious loss in the fragrance community . Guerlain is cool they have a great catalog but to call it a dusty version of heritage is outlandish . It's more citrus herbaceous heritage is semi buttery
