Julie, you look so happy, but I see the brink of tears, which is normal. You are truly an inspiration for so many. And family is the most important. We did the same when our daughter was young. We gave up our “dream” home on a lake to move to a city subdivision, to be together. My husband worked much like yours. And he was never home. It was the best decision we made because it led us to a our new dream home of living at the beach in Panama City. So yes dreams change as your life and family changes. Go live your best life and I’ll be around for the changes no matter which way they go 🥰🥰🥰

Julie, I know the agonizing decision of moving, especially when you've made the house as lovely as you have. My hub and I have custom built 6 houses (from the ground up) and completely renovated 5. It was honestly very heart wrenching leaving each one. However, in my experienced yet humble opinion, I would HIGHLY suggest building for you. Your expertise, handy capabilities and unique style would help you not only save money but more importantly gift you with the house most suitable to your family's needs and wants. I love and respect all the changes you've made not only in your life but also your channel. As long as you're on, I'll keep on watching! You go girl!!!!

About 18 years ago, we decided to move our family from CO to KS feeling the same-a better family life with more opportunities for our family esp with the costs being less. No regrets. Get to visit and enjoy CO and come home to less traffic, less lines, and in general, less expensive life. Im still a Bronco fan though 😎. Hope all goes well with this new adventure.

I LOVE trying something new. You always end up meeting the most interesting people. I’m 67 and I just really started this DIY-thrifting-decorating… This community is slap full of different personalities. It’s hard to stomach knowing that some people out there are complaining about what you are or what you are not doing. I can’t wait to see where your vision will take us and those complaining fools can just jump off the train.

@@cartergallagher5754 I’m from Alabama and it’s pretty hot here, but a lot of people have it much worse :( I find it hard to swallow that some people feel they have a right to tell someone how they should live their lives. Julie is much better than me. I would have to put someone in their place right quick. Julie teaches me things I don’t know and is right up my alley! Good for you Julie, please don't stop doing any videos... Anything you learn new and renos tape it all... The journey will be amazing. Plus to learn new things with you is a good thing.... As a single mom and gramdma i am finally in my " forever" home 😆 so your renos and wood working for the home and decor helps me so much . by the way that ryobi nail gun is amazing and worth the money 😊 with renos on a budget and health issues. When you make decisions based on what's right for the family, you can't go wrong. Coincidently, I've spent the last 2 weeks getting our house to go on the market as we bought a place out of state. Big changes coming our way.

I know your feelings on selling your dream house. We made the same decision back in 1986. We moved states too and had to take a smaller house and with 3 teen boys it was a major sacrifice. But we moved to get out boys in a better environment and better school. But after 35+ years, we look back and see it was the best decision we ever made. We still live in our smaller house and love it. So much less up keep. And we have double the acreage than we had before. Thank you for sharing your struggle and favorite thrift items.

I don't have issues you do or show different things. I've sewn 56 years. I have always upcycled thrift clothing but I totally don't make what I've done before. Now I'm adding crafts!

Julie I watch you all the time under my name I just have my son's phone . I wish you would share more of your home with us more often, I love it !!!!! ❤ I was never into baskets except metal ones, the others I just saw as dust collectors, you're winning me over. Since you like freezer baskets, locker baskets are something I collect. That number and extra metal piece just makes me melt. I don't have many,my soon to be ex husband used to buy them for me 😢

Welcome to the Hospitality State ! There are some beautiful homes with land that you will find for your very own one day. My husband was military so we lived all over the US, but came back here to live. I’m trying something new…a flower garden with thrifted / rescued 1/2 price plants and thrifted items from Marketplace. I recently got a truck load of flagstone…it was lots of work to load and unload but now I’m thinking about a fountain or pond. Doing things to your home makes you love coming home. Making a decision with the thought of family behind it is always the best decision. Good for you for making a thoughtful decision. Seven years ago, my husband and I moved to a town with a slower pace with less people around. We are retired and after we unloaded all of our stuff, I swore I would never move again. We had 120 boxes of stuff plus all the soft goods and beds. That was after we had made many trips to the thrift store before we moved as we were also downsizing! It's been wonderful out here and we're truly happy. Happy move!!!

Congratulations! We've moved all over the country, as did my parents, for career and to take advantage of opportunities for success. Although we missed having extended family nearby, we would not give up the friends and adventures we've enjoyed as a result.
