They show that things in the world of entertainment and pop culture are changing for the better when it comes to the entire representation of all types of people and communities that have been striving to find a place in a complicated world.

And absolutely, one of the most important part in a relationship is being able to act like yourself and not hide behind a mask, and finding an open-minded, accepting person is key (that's hard though, a lot of people are very superficial and judgy)

@@k.s.l.7518 Maybe they aren't the first, but they are the "Godfather" of LGBTQ relationships on tv. I did a report on them in a film class in college and their relationship really did break down walls. esp. their first kiss they had in the episode of "the body".

Don't get me wrong, I adore Malec, I've watch all of Shadowhunters five times because of Malec, but Gallavich is in my opinion the best representation of a gay couple on TV, the evolution of the characters, especially Mickey is so amazing.

Malec are the absolute best because they’re literally the healthiest relationship EVER. They’re mature, they know when they were wrong and always apologize, they put the other above themselves and love each other endlessly, they never cheated or even flirted with someone else, they aren’t possessive or controlling and they balance each other out. I know I’m ranting but they own my whole ass-heart

@Nicole Taylor I don't understand why. All couples have their ups and downs, does that mean they don't desverve a mention? Overall I think their relationship is beautiful and they do get a happy ending. I was honestly surprised they mentioned Brittany and Santana over Kurt and Blaine, I think their relationship is more important in the show.

@Nicole Taylor No couple are perfect (which would probably include the ones on this list). What matters is that they have learned and changed for the better for them to get closer then ever (along with the impact they had for LGBTQ representation on TV).
