hey i wantyou guys to know that over the years i’ve been watching you, ive had serious bouts of depression. it’s been fucking bad lately. you guys are the only thing in my life to consistently make me smile on a regular weekly basis. thank you for what you dudes do.
I would say top three is Rasta form Decapitate, Randy Blythe From Lamb of God and in numero uno of course our boy Austin Dickey! But you have to get on that more melodic shit. Your cover of Abigail and reincarnate ... awww my balls...
I love Kyo as well. Never enough Kyo appreciation lol. This list is solid. I’d add Tyler from Traitors up there too his live vocals those lows are fucking nasty.
@@kionicxnm As being a big fan of MIW I can't give Chris anything higher than B+. He has an amazing and unique voice and has awesome screams and bleghs. With that being said he really struggles in terms of stamina. Very obvious on live performances and another thing is he clean sings some parts that are meant to be screamed due to lack of air (ik it's really common in metal genres in general, but with MIW it stands out a lot more). Of course, that is just my opinion. No hate towards MIW, as I said, I love them! \m/
In no particular order: 1. Cj McMahon - thy art is murder 2. Phil Bozeman - Whitechapel 3. Randy Blythe - Lamb of God 4. Alex Terrible - slaughter to prevail 5. Joe Duplantier - gojira Honor roll: Corey talor - slipknot Phil Anselmo - Pantera Kmachiavelli - kmac2021
Alex Terrible - Slaughter To Prevail CJ McMahon - Thy Art Is Murder Phil Bozeman - Whitechapel Mikael Åkerfeldt - Opeth Trevor Strnad - The Black Dahlia Murder
I'm surprised there's not a shit ton of comments on this flaming you for putting CJ at number one. Fuck what anyone thinks I agree. CJ's vocals are fucking insane.
X Doctor Satan X p sure most ppl agree that CJ is a fkn beast. Everyone under all their new stuff is like “thank god they kept CJ on the album”. Gonna miss the fuck out of him
5. Bryan Garris - Knocked Loose 4. Chuck Schuldiner - Death 3. Randy Blythe - Lamb of God 2. Alex Shikolai - slaughter to prevail 1. Spiros Antoniou - Septicflesh
I mean they are talking about screaming here, as you can see in their lists like 60% of it is Metalcore or Deathcore, I'm guessing thats why they Didn't get Mikael, Devin, Joe Duplantier, Ihsahn or Dan Swanö on their list, nonetheless I'm not the biggest core fan but some of the guys on the list had some powerful voices!
1- Ryo Kinoshita- Crystal lake 2- Tatiana Shmaylyuk- Jinjer 3- Sam Carter- Architects 4- Randy Blythe- Lamb of God 5- Phil Anselmo- Pantera Honestly I’m disappointed that Ryo wasn’t in this video
Specially since helix is right around the corner and they’re best material i feel is about to screamed live in america for the first time ever! See you mofos in fucking buffalo!
he's really not. he's just Japanese and English speakers seem to prefer English speaking bands. they're bigger than Slipknot in Japan. i swear, i've been listening to them ever since my weeb phase in middle school and i have not met a _single_ person that hasn't heard his singing and given him due props even if the music isn't their cup of tea. i still have a couple of friends from high school and college who listen to them regularly - no other Japanese bands, just them, because they're phenomenal musicians that make the dopest music. it's not a matter of underrating, it's a matter of exposure. it's _your duty_ to enlighten your peers and show them the holy light of DIR EN GREY. _et nomine patris, et fili, et spiritus sanctus, amen._
Kyo and Mike Patton will always be on top in my list. Kyo's whistle in Dozing Green and Patton's crazy vocal performance in Cuckoo for Caca was simply extraordinary.
I happen to think the lead from Brojob is pretty underrated in my opinion. He just has an interesting sound to me. Pretty low but it doesn't sound like a rockslide. Some vocalists out there could be dubbed over a rockslide and I'd be nonethewiser. Not hating. Just adding some thought.
5. Chelsea Strickland - Accursed Creator 4. Tobias Schultka - We Butter the Bread With Butter 3. Tatiana Shmaylyuk - Jinjer 2. Anthony Notarmaso - After The Burial 1. Randy Blythe - Lamb of God
5. Sam Carter - Architects 4. Spencer Charnas - Ice Nine Kills 3. James Harrison - Oceans ate Alaska 2. Winston Mcall - Parkway Drive 1. Carlo Knopfel - Breakdown of Sanity
I would say my favorite is still Corey Taylor. Especially during the Iowa tour, his vocals are so full of real anger. They get under my skin better than anything else I’ve heard. Improper technique, but damn it sounds mean.
@Elijah Mercer ever heard of an auto correct feature. Gimme your email if you have a hard time believing my phone doesnt seem to like that version of the word. I'd be more than happy to send a screenshot of my phone actively correcting it.
Daaaaaamn, I've been listening to Dir en grey since they were only known among teens who were into anime and harajuku fashion... I'm SO DAMN HAPPY that they're getting recognition. Kyo is an amazing vocalist.
I would definitely wanna add…Alex Terrible, Dickie Allen, Bryan Garris (though one pitch for the most part, he does it so well) and Danny Worsnop for all the low amazingness he’s given us with the first few AA albums…also so glad Austin that you included Ben Duerr…my personal favorite I think
I think there will never be a better vocalist and screamer than kyo , best boi , but I love a lot too. 1 kyo 2 corey taylor 3 chester bennington 4 ryo 5 serj tanikan
in no particular order, kyo (dir en grey), travis ryan (cattle decap), dickie allen (infant annihilator), and a lot more that i cant fit into a top 5 ;)
Cattle Decapitation is amazing I got to see them live when I went to see Carnifex at the Summer Slaughter Tour of 2019 and the line up was amazing I was actually introduced 3 bands Cattle Decapitation, Nekrogoblikon and the Faceless
My top 5 favorite screamers would be: Corey Taylor - Slipknot/Stone Sour Ben Duerr - Shadow of Intent/Hollow Prophet Phil Boozeman - Whitechapel Travis Ryan - Cattle Decapitation Kyo - Dir En Grey
My Top 5 1. Travis Ryan - Cattle Decapitation 2. Serj Tankian - System of a Down 3. Tatiana Shmaylyuk - Jinjer 4. Trevor Strnad - The Black Dahlia Murder 5. Dickie Allen - Infant Annihilator
finally someone thinks serj is great too. he doesn’t scream too often but when he does it’s golden cause he has a fairly good range in his overall vocals
1. JT Cavey - Erra 2. Bjorn "Speed" Strid - Soilwork 3. Jon Mess - Dance Gavin Dance 4. Richard Sjunnesson - The Unguided 5. The dudes from Ice Nine Kills
dudes, haven’t you youngins ever heard M. Akerfeldt on The “Fathomless Mastery” album by the band Bloodbath? It’s often described as straight-up DM but it’s all Deathcore to my sweet ears. Give ole’ grandpa a listen (on that particular album by Bloodbath) and get blown away. I really, Really appreciate your videos (and learned of Infant Annihilator- thank you, from your vids). But if you can make them a little less generational? I am 62, but generally like the metal from the early 90s on. (not at all into Metallica- Iron Maiden- blah blah blah- but prefer Opeth, Morbid Angel, Gojira. . . )
@@giorgis7373 I love how the people says that Slipknot is trash, is bad, etc., but they never say why. Why u don't go to listen your technical brutal extreme incredible death metal underrated sweden bands?
@adri i see your point I don't really like the way he sings tbh I prefer his screams I used to listen to slipnkot I don't think they are trash ,I believe they are overated but they helped metal become more mainstream
a personal favorite of mine is Spencer Charnes. He has a pretty wide range of screaming and can hit a extremely low scream without making his voice garglely. It can be really bone chilling.
Krysta has a great set of lungs on her. It's an obvious song choice but her delivery in Kevin Bacon never fails to give me chills. Wish she had stuck around. She is doing some good things in a new project called Empyrean Lights.
@@efboy Well Saku is pretty crazy lol. And Jealus is incredible. This band has made so many songs I consider to be absolutely beautiful (wether they are extreme or not at all) that I cannot keep track of'em.
5:01 Actually Corey does.......For example: New Abortion, Metabolic, Iowa , Sarcasterphe, Weren Lies Continue, The Virus Of Life, A Liars Funeral and much more! I hate it when people say: " I'm a fan of Slipknot! " When they only know Slipknot's hit songs.
My number one vocalist is Chad Gray from Mudvayne, his vocals were so unique, his screams so agonizing and his high shouts had a very distinctive sound, those were very "full" (I'd say), screams. I love the way he sang in LD50
Corey taylor has dynamic screams as well as crazy raw primal depending on the album his voice now days is amazing cmf2 👌☺️🤟.. Chad when they filled in for slipknot has to be one of the best screams ever its so powerful 🥶
@@MrCk1234567890 I totally got what you meant, hahaha. It means he doesn't give a shit about the conversation and is only there to say what he wants. He's contributing absolutely nothing. Goddamn energy vampire.
IN Flames - Anders is def in my top 3... Even with how the band is changed over the years, I've always loved his vocals. Howard Jones is great too imo. My favorite vocalists are the ones that can bounce between screams and cleans without problem - Devin Townsend (the best), M Arkfelt, Tommy Rogers, Anders Etc.
Philip Anselmo especially back in the Pantera days. No one could, can, or ever will be able to duplicate those screams. Plus at least one of those albums DEBUTED AT NUMBER ONE on the charts. Will never be any heavy metal band better than that. Cemetery Gates song at the end where he is screaming and Dimes guitar is challenging his screams. Pretty sure he out screams the guitar. CRAZY INSANE!!!!
