Tyler always looks like he just worked a 60 hour workweek and this is the last thing he does before that weekend 10 hour pass out. Which is such a juxtaposition to Cam's boundless energy (I swear he is Naruto) Also I was so happy for Stronghold Arena for my malcolm deck, then saw the kicker cost. Was really sad.

While I don't play cEDH, I love this channel. A lot of my deck building is seeing decks on this channel and trying to power them down to see what strategies can survive in my play group (Partners usually put a target on me)

idk if stenn will actually make into elsha because it prefers for those mana reducers to be artifacts or artifact creatures so the artifact tutors can find both the reducers and divining top, along with that elsha doesn’t want too many creatures because it can stop it from being able to go deep enough to find a win using elsha’s ability but i could be wrong and stenn could actually be worth adding

Vohar is also a 1 card win con with the consultation combo. Cause you can use the first one to get oracel then the second one to remove your library!

Can’t wait for the elas deck, I made a very similar deck as soon as I saw it spoiled. Seems like a cool razacats commander.

Threats Undetected is worth testing in Selvala, Heart of the Wilds. Any combination of the following 4 creatures will get you to the Kogala / Hyax combo. Kogala the Titan Ape, Hyrax Tower Scout, Woodland Bellower, Fierce Empath.

I'm a little sad we won't see Meria in the next video but I am excited to see how Jensen performs, I've always wanted a better option for a Lurris companion

I'd kinda like to hear the reasoning on why plaza of heroes won't make it into CEDH. Maybe I'm just biased because I play Tatyova as my CEDH commander, but I feel like it's decent as a protection option when something goes wrong, especially in decks which need their commanders to do things i.e Kinnan, Thrasios, etc

Nooooo, I'm building a Ramses, Assassin Lord Voltron deck right now, it's definitely not a top tier deck, but I hoped it could steal some wins due to being novel and no one expecting a Voltron deck at a cEDH table. Now you guys talked about it, which means that probably half of the format knows about the card now ^^ I'm really hyped for powering this out turn 1, keeping a low profile for 1 - 2 turns, maybe drawing cards with Curiosity style effects and then playing Hatred & Phyresis or Tainted strike or something like that & going for the win

Looking forward to your take on Vohar. This is the commander I’m most excited about from this set. Both a scepter outlet and a doomsday pile cracker. Think this will be very strong

Serra being a cast is wonderful for cast effects. Serra having a exile effect on those cards make's it kind of garbo. We have a legendary bird that does the same thing(returns 3 cmc creatures) with historic spells and hardly anyone plays it. More versatile, but once per turn and doesn't go back to grave afterwards isn't going to cut it.

The thing I love the most about the sylex is Karn, the great creator can get it back if you blow up the board

Super excited for Lagomos myself. I love me some dumb wincons and Breath of Fury is about as dumb as it gets. Defiler of Dreams seems amazing too. Combos with Shrieking Drake for an Aetherflux kill or produces Mox Sapphires out of 1 drop artifacts for Urza (not that there’s many U cost artifacts but still)

Threats Undetected could be good in food chain lines. tutor squee, scourge, goblin matron, 4th can be anything. That way you get ur combo piece no matter what, then go off from there. I know there are better tutors in green/red but this could be a 2nd copy.

I think Plaza will see play in certain decks. Anointed Peacekeeper is a stax piece I'll probably try out at some point. Electrostatic Infantry is good for Magda. It's bonkers that a card that is the same as an existing card but worse in two ways is still a card people are excited about.

Surprising no one mentioned vohar one card wins off of tainted pact or consultation.

They are missing a diamond in the rough here and I am glad I am one of the few people who see it.

Relic of Legends might see play in kinnan as well. It nets 4 mana with kinnan on the field which is nothing to sneeze at. Gets even better the more legendaries you run (Kogla, Nezahal, Jin-Gitaxias Progress tyrant etc.)

i've never build a cEDH deck but Ertai could be a big threat if you pack blink instants in your build so you can blink Ertai when it's on the battlefield to kill or counter anything paying very little mana since it's an ETB trigger

I've been playing Braids in a KCI eggs shell and I think it might be the best way to consistently get her draw early on because most people don't want to sac their mana rocks to prevent it

i have deck list for the new Braids, Arisen Nightmare and already tested her , sooooo good. As a mono black player in Cedh i love this card.

The big issue with Micromancer is being a 4 drop and the effect still being worse than Spellseeker. Was talking in the Thumbless discord and yeah it's just painfully not good enough.

Interesting that you guys didn't have the new sheoldred in the top 10 for either of the list. As a stand alone I think the card isn't that great, but the card goes infinite with K'rrik and Vilis (using K'rrik ability you can pay 4 life to activate Vilis's ability to give -1/-1 to any creature, you then draw 4 cards, but then gain 8 life due to Sheoldred. This goes infinite and you can continuously do this to wipe the board and draw your entire deck and then figure out a win from there). While this seems like you need a lot of things, it being mono black allows you to play all the best tutors and the deck is already playing entomb/reanimate effects so it's not actually hard to assemble K'rrik, Vilis and Sheoldred onto the same board state.

No discussion of Shanna, Purifying Blade? She seems ridiculously strong. Sure she’s mana intensive, but she draws so many cards. She’s probably good enough to go in the 99 of Bruse/Thrasios too.

I’ve always wondered for these set review videos, how do you all go about choosing which cards you think are best? Do you each make a list individually and then come together and compare notes? Or, is it more like everyone sits down at once and goes through the cards one at a time?

elas il-kor screams gravecrawler combo to me personally. wish it was a zombie itself, but its not hard to get another zombie on the board to keep the gravecrawler loop going.

Duplomacy makes tokens from legendary creatures and artifacts. Tokens you can then copy because they are no longer legendary. That is insane.

Another honorable mention here could've been the blue board wipe.

I'm surprised Dihada, Bender of Wills didn't make the Top 10 considering the upper bits of the commanders were considered just poor options for existing combos, like Rona. Dihada works as a card advantage engine that can also create lots of mana through her -3, and she has a combo with Underworld Breach as long as the card Flicker is in your hand or graveyard, letting you cast Flicker with Breach to flicker Dihada, allowing you to -3 her again to mill 4 and create 4 Treasures. Because this combo only needs 2 Treasures and 3 cards in the grave per loop, you net 2 mana and 1 card in the graveyard per loop allowing you to mill your deck and create a lot of Treasure which you can doubtlessly find a way to win with from there when you have an Underworld Breach and so many Treasures out. Even if you are in neutral and trying to find your combo pieces, building your deck around legendary interaction pieces can allow Dihada to draw you cards without even needing to attack your opponent. She isn't Blue, which is a major downside as far as interaction goes in cEDH I know, but I still think she combined together to form a very interesting commander.

Sten is very good at switching from value cost reducer to combo enabler, but I don’t see it making it onto too many Elsha lists. She’s very greedy for non-creatures. Sten competes with Birgi without the added utility of the Horn of Harnfell, which is a Top substitute.

I'm kinda sad the defilers and jhoira weren't mentioned. Depending on the color, it may not be too great but most of the effects that do something is based on permanents,, not creatures

I disagree with you guys about plaza of heroes, it will see play especially in those builds that want to play their commander ASAP + protecting it Cedh lists are so tight and using a land as extra protection for a combo piece (I mean some commanders) is not bad at all

Serra Paragon is a very good Sun Titan, probably better than Titan in many cEDH metas, but a 3/4 is very unfortunately not a 4/4, or more importantly a 4/5 flyer. Also, are people just gonna try and loop Serra Paragon and Out Of Time? Micromancer is giving me some interesting options in Chun-Li, where it seems you might be able to tutor up a selection of instants for Chun-Li to exile and use, the best I can think of is just dig out and cast an extra turns spell, which is a lot of mana for Azorius (I suspect your low end is 7 mana total, and 3 spells), so probably not cEDH and more just 'more annoying Narset that doesn't whiff as much' because you can eventually just recast Nexus of Fate after tutoring it up each turn. I'm not saying this is a good plan, but it's looking more viable than it used to. Karn's Sylex seems really good in mono-coloured decks that want wipes, but it can hurt a lot of stuff as a Stax piece while threatening people with a costly wrath. It's more versatile than Nevinyrral's Disk, but it's also much clunkier as a wipe, and people don't play that piece for obvious reason (I guess mono Blue could play Disk, but should look at Sylex much closer obviously). Cut Down is interesting in particular because it hits so many Hatebears, but most importantly you can Cut Down a damned Opposition Agent for B, making it much easier to hold up an instant to do that necessary task if you're running a tutor deck like Zur or Sisay. Yes, you can run Path and Swords and other options, but you should look closely at this, even if it's not remotely versatile. "When a Tymna and Bob truly love each other, they hold hands really tight, and 9 months later you get a Stronghold Arena like you!" Arena seems like a decent card, but I am sad it's Abzan because I don't play Abzan. Maybe Tymna/Ikra for some lifegain in the right coloures? Ikra/Bruse for more life and Red, non-Tymna lists need the cards more anyways. Ramses seems kinda good in some pods where people are on life payment game plans that can either be interfered with via counters (you're in Blue) or whiff sometimes, and can easily be killed next turn when they have nearly no life to win, the issue is that people will know what you're on by default and will try to kill anyone who's low on life. Hatred and similar big buff effects will work well, and Dimir has Consultation still, so this will work as a Commander. I suspect you'll miss having draw in the Command Zone, but idk, there are some old Assassins that use poison counters, for a jankier version? In a Pod with a tutor Commander like Sisay or Zur, not being able to cast more spells can still let them win, you might even substantially enhance their odds by removing the risk of interference.

"#1 card that won't see play: Plaza" Ooh, people aren't going to like that one. I do think it will see some play, but really only in budget versions of commander dependant decks. If the card ends up only being $1-$3 then having a 5 color untapped land for that cheap isn't super common and can be nice. The only other lands that do that right now are command tower and exotic orchard which are both much better, but it is still an option.

…no Sheoldred? It’s practically another outlet for Breach combos

The "begins" are still spiraling into craziness and I can't wait to see where this insanity can go! And I strongly disagree about Temporal Lockdown. It can be bounced in a format full of bounces, is on a color where most your Hatebears and Stax pieces are on the CMC range and you don't gain absolutely nothing by playing it, unlike Culling Ritual that basically is the playable version of this effect. I really don't see the appeal of the card.
