Top 10 Best of Steam 2023

After my top 10 model railway video being quite popular, a few people asked me if id be doing a top 10 steam video, so i thought i would give it a go, i now other people will have filmed many more exciting clips than me over this year but i have included my personal favourite from what ive filmed this year at heritage railways and on the mainline, hopefully see plenty more in 2024.

My favourite steam locomotive is Pitchford Hall. She’s a Great Western locomotive running on what were originally Great Eastern tracks at the Epping Ongar Railway.

I hope to return to train operations at the Epping Ongar Railway during the year. I’ve had a year of illness and think I’m now on the mend!! I’m either a Meeter/Greeter or Train Janitor, going up and down the train with a bin bag collecting the bits!!

My favourites are 46441 test run/return to steam and 45690 leander with 45596 bahamas at the end !!

great choices, i was made up to see 46441 having its first movements in the headshunt, i couldn't make it back to see it having its first loaded test runs but looking forward to seeing it running in the new year, thanks for watching. Tom

i believe that was her first movements under her own power in over 20 years, we watched it having its inspection and passed its test before making the move, hoping to see it next year in service
