I agree I Will Survive deserves more than a slight mention, but there were breakup songs for decades before that song came out. Ain't It A Shame by Fats Domino; Hound Dog by Big Mama Thornton; Donna by Ritchie Valens in the 50s, and there were definitely breakup songs before that, as well.

Another breakup song I think deserves an honorable mention is Call Me When You’re Sober by Evanescence. It is an emotionally raw rock ballad that express the frustration and pain of being in a relationship with someone who is unwilling to seek help for their alcoholism, even when it is causing damage to a relationship. Amy reportedly wrote it about her ex Shaun Morgan, lead singer of Seether (who Amy famously sang Broken with, which is another song that deserves an honorable mention). I think it is amazing that their relationship gave us Broken and Call Me When You’re Sober, two breakup songs for the ages. Good list either way!

I will never stop thinking about how Irreplaceable by Beyonce. Ne-Yo, who co-wrote the song, said that some parts of the song (like "everything you own is in a box to the left") were inspired by his aunt's break-up. That story behind the song is the reason it will forever be on my mind

It's almost criminal that Fleetwood Mac didn't have one on this list. The Chain, Go Your Own Way, and Silver Springs are all top tier break-up songs. Flowers by Miley Cyrus is my fav ... for me, showing emotion (anger, sadness, taking revenge, telling bad things about him/her, screaming, etc) after breakup is the worst way to move on from ure ex ... being nonchalant as if he/she never existed in our life is good to show that he/she is worthless ... btw ... apart from the list in the video - "It's a Beautiful Day by Michael Bublé" is definetely my breakup song 😉👍
