Nothing greater than seeing people genuinely in love with a hobby and the absolute joy they radiate when they pull a rare card. It's the hand shaking that always makes me laugh lol
I've got no clue about MtG but I do know that the fact that the Alpha Black Lotus is the most valuable trading card of all time, and I don't think it'll ever be topped. Even with the extreme popularity of Charizard due to it being part of the highest-grossing IP on the planet, that one MtG card still reigns supreme. Kinda crazy when you think about it.
Wait, Guys, how much is First edition Charizard actually worth (Maximum price i m talking about) because me do not know for sure, i thought it was 500.000 dollar, Right?
Yeah, Even as a Yu-Gi-Oh fan primarily, you really can't beat the classic Alpha Lotus pulls. But there were definitely a lot of fantastic pulls here. and it's kind of cool seeing pulls of all these other TCGs outside of YGO. Very nice video!
@@kovacuator do you mind linking the video? As far as I'm aware, the only video recording of opening a black lotus are the 3 the guy in the video opened and one at a GP
I think the Leonhart 1st Ed charizard was such a big deal in the community because it went viral and brought so many new people into the hobby of not just Pokémon but all TCG’s.
@@veganpenguin9857 Right, so cringe it almost seemed fake. Looking right into the cameras over having a genuine reaction to an insane card is weird af to me
The Black Lotus is the best because you can see him shacking, you could see him opening the original seal; he went one by one, and was already satisfied when he saw the dual land, the last card would be a just fun extra... a "booshing" Black Lotus, he was shacking, I was happy for him.
Growing up as a Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh fan it's great to see some nostalgic pulls. I always enjoy watching vintage card openings and some of the newer stuff too to see what's going on in the TCG world. MtG is something I never played but I definitely want to check out some of those pack openings after watching this!
It is also important to mention a majority of his product is stuff he bought back in 1993 an never bothered to open so its really millions of percent of profit 😆
As someone that knows absolutely nothing about Magic, #1 and 2 definitely deserves that spot. I didn't even know that black lotus card can go for 1 million dollars. THAT'S INSANE
Right! Like I understand that a big part of the he fun of opening packs is the physically opening the pack but when you have the potential to open something so valuable, cut the seals.
Then there's me opening packs in my truck as carefully as I can just in case I get a hit. Open the packs right and you can put them back in to get you home to sleeves and tops.
Name one time reasonably opening a pack with caution (but not the "correct technique") has damaged it on video. Otherwise this is such a dumb take. The only examples I could find of cards being damaged while being opened were ridiculous examples like when MaxMoeFoe tears them open in the middle and tears the cards in half with it
I'm not a real fan of any trading card games, but on a human level i love this for all of you. It's not everyday that something can make a grown adults hands shake and tremble with excitement and anticipation. At least not something positive. This is really great for your community and i'm happy for all involved that this brings you such great joy.
Anyone's hand would tremble if you told them the piece of cardboard they're holding is worth a million dollars. I've been a competitive mtg player for almost a decade now and i never liked this aspect. Post malone bought a one of kind magic card for like 2 million.. The fact that people who dont even play the game and just want to "collect" exist just sickens me.
@@maddog788ngl this is a weird ass take. It's like saying stamp collectors are sick for not using the stamps or coin collectors are twisted because they don't use the money. People collecting stuff is a valid hobby even if they don't use the thing for its intended purpose. No shade of course because your opinion is also valid, but calling people sick is kind of mean
Man these make me so mad at myself for not taking better care of my collections growing up. I did take care of them when I had them, but at a certain point I just stopped caring about where they were or what they were doing, so they ended up in the wrong hands 😭
This is such a wholesome video. It's so great to see genuine collectors have their TCG dreams come true in just a few packs. Still can't get over opening a GLAS box and getting both Ghost EHCN and Magic Formula...
RUXIN!!! Honestly so happy to be included in this video! Thanks so much!!!! #keepitcasual 😜 Link to the GLAS video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OAUh7k301c0.html

Just found my childhood Pokemon binder and the old memories came back. This compilation definitely ignited the collector flame once again. Thanks for sharing 🔥
The difference about mtg's biggest pulls compared to Yugio or Pokemon is that most of magics best pulls have competititve game value to them as well as being extremely rare. Ist edition Charizard or blue eyes arent exactly competitively viable, but any of the power 9 of magic being played in a game of magic is likely to warp the game.
I mean the power 9 are banned from competitive play and there are way cheaper alternatives for most of the cards on the reserved list so I guess it can help but it doesnt really matter all that much. No one is gonna play a mint condition alpha card.
@@trevor245 the power 9 are all vintage restricted (so not banned). And there aren't really cheaper alternatives for things like dual lands. They still see competitive play and are vintage and legacy staples
@@kieranl5249 When I was active magic player, Vintage was called Type 1. So Trevor is wrong and right. Most of these cards were and are still allowed in certain formats of Magic, but cause of the recognizable corners, Alpha cards were banned ages ago
@@argamon2025 The "Alpha corner" issue has been rendered moot by opaque card sleeves. Alpha versions are perfectly legal for any format for which the card itself is legal; however, the full deck must be in identical opaque sleeves.
@@AndrewMoffitt Thanks for the update. As written, my knowledge is quite outdated. I played until Tempest and still have my collection and lots of memories from old times. The internet destroyed the creativity of the game. Basically at every tournament you faced the same decks. But this change of course then makes sense for the price spectrum. Even as there were more printed at my active time, Beta version were a lot more expensive cause Alphas were only collector cards.
Haven't been a paper collector of any game for many years, but man being a kid and pulling something dope with friends around was some of the most fun ever. This video kinda reminded me of those times.
Even I, who had never played or known anything about MtG, knew how special that Alpha Lotus pull was when I first saw it on YT. An iconic moment, and honestly, I expected absolutely nothing else at #1.
All of these pulls are absolutely insane, I’m not really a fan of Magic the Gathering but I definitely know about the Black Lotus, pretty sure it’s literally one of the rarest trading cards as well as one of the most sought after in history. My favorite pull from this personally has to be Leonhart pulling that 1st Edition Charizard, just such an amazing and iconic card to get and I was a really huge Pokémon fan when I was younger and I had a dream of trying to collect every Charizard card since it’s my favorite Pokémon, still am a fan today but I definitely like Yugioh a lot more nowadays. All of these openings are so incredible and I remember watching every single one back when they came out.
What a great video, honestly. So much fun to watch and chills on each one. Personal fav is #7 because I love the collabs you guys do and that one was nuts!
I bought about 500 Magic cards from a yard sale in 1996ish. They got lost along the way of life, but these channels (and card pull ASMR lol) make me wonder what I could have had in there.
My favorite cards of all time are the Blue-Eyes White Dragon DDS-001 and the 1st Edition Shadowless Charizard. Not just because of their value, but because how beautiful they are. The DDS with that amazing speckled holo, and the Shadowless Charizard with the most beautiful shade of red I’ve ever seen.
I really love to see the happiness of pull a fantastic card out of a pack, a lot of emotion go trough a pack of cards, love collecting and the community around this tcg. My favorite card is blue eyes, a classic one, never pulled one but it's amazing to see this pulled!
I love Old School Expert! He was one of the first channels I watched when I first started playing Yu-Gi-Oh. He made me really appreciate old packs and classic cards, to this day Metal Raiders will be my favorite pack and Red-Eyes my favorite card.
So glad to see CYS on the list with that mental GLAS box!! Watched it live and it was crazy - a new benchmark for GLAS openings. As for yourself, I'd personally put the RP02 Blue-Eyes Shining on the list over your opening with Leonhart as it's a VERY rare pull on YT.
Awesome video, and brought me back to my childhood collecting cards and video games. When I was very little and YuGiOh had just come out, my local card shop put on a raffle and the winner would receive a frist edition complete Exodia set. I remember going into the shop with my mom to put some money in any chance I could convince her. Both my cousin and I got one of the OG starter decks, Kaiba and Yugi, for Christmas that year and I really wanted Exodia so I could have the grandpa muto deck with exodia. Little did I know, that every day my mom had been going to the card store and putting money in for the raffle without me. She owned a shop nearby so she always went on her lunch break or after work. Well, we ended up winning the raffle and I was absolutely over the moon. Honestly brings a tear to my eyes thinking about it now and how thoughtful my mom has always been when it came to my interests. It was my prized possession until one day I lost the whole set and I can't remember how. We occassionally had cleaners come through the house so I always kind of thought maybe they accidentally threw them away. I remember tearing up my houe top to bottom looking for them but no luck. It is crazy to think what those card go for now, but since I owned them as a little kid they would definitely not have gotten a great rating but I was usually careful with my things and had card protectors so they wouldn't have been in terrible shape. I used eBay a lot in the day and sold video games and such to fund new game and card purchasess and looking back I let a lot of games go that are way more expensive to get back these days. Now I have a second wave of little coussins and they collect Pokemon cards. Every year for Christmas and their birthdays I buy them booster packs, binders, card protectors, and games and teach them how to take care of their collection. I'm happy that I am able to share this part of my childhood with them, and share my love and joy for collecting and caring for your collection.
I only follow and play MTG, so I was getting a little concerned when I kept seeing Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh pulls being represented. It’s interesting to see that any person still considers pulling Black Lotus as the best trading card pull you could do, but definitely worthy of it
I love the mix of Magic, Pokemon, and Yugioh in this top 10 video. The video with you and Leonhart opening Legend of Blue-Eyes packs should be bumped up to at least #5 (I might be a little bias because it has two of my favorite card break RU-vidrs 😂).
Great video, I love your short explanations after each clip in case someone wasnt familiar. I think its hard to pick top 10 so I'd love to see a part 2. I'd suggest the WoW TCG pull of Spectral Tiger pull on Asmongold TV as a great pull!
Thanks for showing this. I remember the black lotus video from a few years ago, that is still one of the best pulls ever shown on camera. Epic pulls list, I completely agree.
I was there for one of those 3 Black Lotus pulls with Open Boosters and he’s one of my best friends. We film together and with Rudy a lot. That moment was one the literal best moments of my life. I will never forget that rush!!
This was really interesting for me, just to see the potential that other tcgs can offer in regards to high value cards. I really enjoyed the leonhart charizard moment as it was for a good cause and charizard just made it that much better.
for me i play & collect Pokemon cards for Ex, GX, full art with few others for the banner also Yu-Gi-Oh as will in super or higher foils in other languages if i can find them in store if they have them in singles cuz i like have 1 banner not for trade or sell just to show 2day kids the Wow & they love looking at it
Such a great video Ruxin! Between the openings, Master Duel, and videos like these, you are absolutely killing it my friend! Look forward to your videos everyday :)
Haha these videos never cease to amaze me, I chuckle every time they get this excited, even less exciting when y’all switch the cards around to out rare card in back that’s boring just open the pack and move on
it drives me nuts knowing every card you see being pulled is one i had when i was a child... and they got given away/sold at fleamarkets by my parents... Very sad now i think about it
After the release of Crimson Vow, I got one Gift Bundle Box for myself. There was one collector booster pack, and a few of the regular set booster packs... and guess what... I have pulled a Sorin The Mirthless Showcase Foil... but from a regular pack! Not the collectors one... That was pure luck. I'm so happy for that pull.

Still have a lot of these cards to this day. Fun to see people with such joy when opening the packs, even if the joy is for different reasons than back then.
I don’t play magic, but I know the history of the rarity of the Alpha set AND how broken Lotus is. That Black Lotus pull is my absolute favorite card game pack opening by a MILE.
This video was really well done. Felt different in a very good way. Nothing wrong with your usual stuff at all but this was something special. Would love to see more of these kinds of commentary compilations, maybe even with sports cards or just more great pulls around the web. It could even become something semi regular for your channel, reviewing other RU-vidrs best pulls. Youd get a lot more unique viewers from those channels fans I bet.
This top ten was awesome; my only qualm is that, I actually think the number 10 and 9 should be swapped! While the Rayquaza was cool, the ghost plus formula was such an interesting pull!
My husband passed and I was going through his stuff, sobbing of course. He had entire boxes of unopened Magic the Gathering packs. I had no idea they were valuable and just gave all the boxes to Goodwill. Hopefully, they get to someone who wants them. God bless 🙂
Let’s be honest growing up as a all around tcg fan seeing THREE!!!! Alpha black lotus’s is absolutely insane !!! I’m a huge yugioh fan been playing since lob release but before that I collected magic n that’s just really cool but awesome video bud
I know its no black lotus, but I've had my own fair share of god packs while playing over the years. However, I think my crowning jewel that I can remember was when World Wake came out. I opened a Jace the mindsculpter in foil and normal in the same pack. If anyone is reading this and knows about MTG you'll understand how excited I was as a kid to get that pull.
Even though I'm a yugioh guy, I think Leonhart wins for me with his Charizard pull. Love how he has to take a sec to hold his excitement in to carefully sleeve the card
When i was a young lad i used to ride my bike to this shop that sold pokemon packs, and i would usually have just enough for a single pack every couple weeks. One day i pulled the lugia from neo genesis and was ecstatic. I ran to tell my dad i pulled it because he would sometimes buy me pokemon stuff on my birthday or christmas. One of my fondest memories. Never get that lucky on packs anymore 😅
Epic giveaway!!! Edit: Rux loved your unbias! You crafted this video to perfection in my opinion wouldn't change any order. And tho I started with mtg when i was young im 100% yugioh now but yeah lotus belongs in the #1 spot because they paved the way for all of trading card games 💯. Please do more of these really enjoyed it
Loved this video, I’ve been a TCG collector and player for years and years, and I’ve played all of these games from this video and even more than we’re mentioned. This was such a great walk down memory lane.
I find it so funny how this is a thing, where back in the day, when I pulled Holo Charzards from packs and handed them to the kids, I got alot of joy seeing them happy to have the cards. I still remember when my son pulled a black lotus from some Alpha packs back in 93. MTG was just down the road and dealers around the area weren't able to sell alpha beta and AN boxes. Picked up a bunch cheap. WISH I knew then what I know now :)
Very much so enjoy watching this video. Every now and then I find myself coming into contact with trading cards n makes me remember those days, then I flick on this video and thoroughly enjoy!
Great video as always! Love reliving these hype pulls! Especially the first ed Charizard and the Black Lotus pulls. I think you and Leonhart pulling Dark Magician should have been a bit higher. Maybe because you two are in my top five favorite tcg youtubers.
Leon pulling that Charizard is beyond iconic that’s my #1 because I’m a Pokémon guy - but you can’t argue with a black lotus. It’s the most valuable trading card of all time 🙏🏻👑
Gotta give yourself more credit man. The Lotus is amazing and a 1st Ed PSA 10 Lugia from Neo Genesis is amazing but your entire opening with Lee was insaaaaaaaane. You guys pulled so many amazing cards 🃏 🔥🃏
The fact I remember having multiple Dark Magicians and blue eyes hurts, never knew I was playing/collecting during the first generation, I’m going have to search my parents house 😂
Another one that comes to mind for me, is the Warcraft Card pull Asmongold did with his posse. They had joked the entire video about pulling a Spectral Tiger (mount card) and then pulled it. They went bananas. At that time it was $10k
