The upgraded tokens for Quacks is a must have, definitely takes the game to another level. Next thing we are gonna start doing is probably sleeving cards
@@MIsForMeeple I didn't think I was going to be someone who sleeved my cards. But ended up doing it for my magic the gathering cards and really dug it. So currently trying to sleep my Marvel Champions cards.☺️
Great video - I also have a collection of extra baggies for those games that are short a few! Also love those sticker for Parks, they are fairly inexpensive and add more life to the games we love
I just backed the GameTopper on their 3.5 Kickstarter, and this video is making me even more excited to get it! I had to get the Adler due to space limitations but it should still elevate my game experiences. I added a couple extra game mats as well. Great video. A nice upgrade can certainly move a game from good to great.
That's awesome! You will LOVE it! We like ours so much so that we don't ever want a normal gaming table. GameToppers just have so much versatility over other gaming tables and they're so functional for gaming in everyday life. Being able to pack it up, move it or store it when not in use is such an awesome feature. It's also nice not being stuck with one color game mat and having the option to change it out to suit whatever game you're playing.
Love me some upgraded components. I also love board game storage solutions like how PARKS is set up. Great video! I didn't know of board game toppers! I thought you had a game table the whole time haha!
I love how PARKS is organized! I wish more games came like that. The game topper fit our needs better than a table. We easily move it from our dining room where we actually play and in front of our shelves for filming
You both have given me some great ideas about Gempire! Like maybe offering some metal production tokens, or some quill feather extensions you can add to the markers you use in the game! I'll have to keep those in mind for my website!
Great video! Here are my top 10 accessories 1. Game Topper (I was fortunate to get a Game Topper in 2018. I leave it setup permanantly. A pleasant addition to any gaming experience.) 2. Card Sleeves (As noted in a previous post, keep your greasy fingers off my cards. I cringe when playing with unsleeved cards.) 3. Inserts/Organizers (I love birch organizers. Throw in some 3D printed inserts and custom foamcore, and I have over 50 inserts/organizers. Yikes!) 4. Board Game Stats App (This app is invaluable. I have over 1200 recorded plays. Plus, it syncs with BGG.) 5. Component Trays (It's always nice to have trays. I am eagerly awaiting my Wyrmwood hex trays that will arrive this month.) 6. Upgraded Components (Metal coins, bakelite tokens, and other accoutrements to enhance gameplay.) 7. Neoprene Playmats (I use the large mats on my Game Topper, but smaller mats are great for travel, especially for games with cards.) 8. Dice Tower/Trays (These keep the dice from rolling all over the place. They are a nice addition.) 9. BGG Files (Rules summaries, dividers, and other resources to help make everything easier.) 10. Quality Dry Erase Markers (The markers that come with games are junk! I always have a good set on hand.)
I love a good insert! When everything has a dedicated space and nothing moves around that's my board game paradise. I never really thought to use better dry erase markers, gonna have to pick some up now. Thanks for sharing, love your top 10!
I am not big on accessories for games. They do look pretty, but are rarely helpful for me. Also, I rather want to spend money on more games than on upgraded components. Baggies are a different things, though. Love them. I have never seen the board game straps. They looks super helpful.
Accessories are never needed. The straps have saved us a few times from boxes opening up during transit. Highly recommend if you have any games bursting at the lid
Lately, we haven't spent much on accessories or games, for that matter. We're tying to cultivate our collection a bit more, so it is only games we really really enjoy.
I can't stand those flimsy little dice boxes in Cubitos. I've been trying to think of an alternative; those colorful boxes look perfect! I also love the dedicated game bag you have. We've been using one of those big reusable grocery bags. Definitely time to upgrade that. And I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I had no idea Game Toppers were a thing! I hope this isn't a dumb question, but is it attached to the table, or if not, how sturdy is it? For instance, if someone leans too heavily on the railing, will it slide out of position easily?
No need to be embarrassed, I think Game Toppers came out in 2019, so they are still fairly new. They don't attach to the table at all. Underneath the topper is a rubber material that protects your table and stops it from sliding or slipping. They can be a little pricey depending on size and accessories you want but compared to a full board game table it seems cheaper. Just looked it up they came out in 2017 and they had a second kickstarter in 2019.
Oh I forgot to link it in the description. Great list video, Mitch and Morgan! If you would be interested in receiving some, I would be more than happy/willing to send you some of my invented product, TI’TAINS (US Patent Pending)! It’s hard not to be slightly biased, as it is my invented product, but I personally use TI’TAINS for a variety of use cases/applications (for hand/card management, organization, etc), to board games. - Howie
