@@cheyennebrennan966 Yeah, he has a wonderful voice. I don't get the criteria here in making the list -- if it's vocal quality or familiarity or what. Caine's voice is distinctive but it isn't superlative compared to the others.
Alec Guinness? Derek Jacobi? Ralph Richardson? James Mason? Albert Finney? Malcolm McDowell? David Niven? Peter Sellers? Lawrence Olivier? Richard Burton? Peter O'Toole?
@@kristashafer93098 Well, they still don't like to be called english. Being from northen Ireland doesn't mean you're not irish. The IRA has started again. It's better not to inflame conflicts.
@@DeaconTaylor i think they should have separate lists for men and women. As for your choices, it could be because you're a guy.😉 Wait. They should have a separate list "Sexiest Brit Male voices" Rickman FIRST, Cumberbatch 2nd, Irons, Connery, Hurt, etc. 😁
Richard Burton, Rex Harrison, Peter Cushing, Ian McKellen, Alec Guinness, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, Charles Dance, Liam Neeson, James Cosmo, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy... I can do this all night...
1) Benedict Cumberbatch 2) Jeremy Irons 3) Alan Rickman 4) Anthony Hopkins 5) Michael Caine 6) Sean Connery 7) Patrick Stewart 8) Ian McKellen 9) Christopher Lee 10) Ralph Fiennes.
i’m probably the only one saying this but i think Hugh Laurie has a gorgeous accent, both American and English. i swear i love his accents, both of them. you could recognise either of them anywhere
Richard Armitage, he's got lovely voice. I've just finished listening to "The bloody chamber" he read with Emilia Fox, they both did amazing job. I also always loved Alan Rickman's voice.
A bit disappointed not to find Ian McKellen, Peter Cushing, Alec Guinness, David Tomlinson, Benedict Cumberbatch and Angela Lansbury anywhere on this list. Let’s just face it. When it comes to actors and actresses with iconic voices by country, the United Kingdom is going to require a top 25 or 30 at least.
No Sir Ian McKellen? A voice that has been imitated by millions of people all over the Word for the last decade! This list shall not pass!!!!! In addition, no Sir David Jason the voice of Danger Mouse and Count Duckula!!!!
Where the hell is Billy Connelly? Alex guiness? Alistair Simm? Dame Maggie Smith? Sir Ian McKellan? Ian Holme? Hell the cast of the carry on films like Kenneth Williams, Frankie Howard, Barbara Windsor? And you only have Tom Baker as an HM? Smh
James Mason. You cannot mistake it for anyone else. Very British upper class. Richard Burton. In the Longest Day, a shot down pilot is doing Shakespeare.
Also, do not forget James Mason, Michael York, and Benedict Cumberbatch. And maybe there should be an entirely different list for the ladies, there are several more to be added.
I agree with the hundreds of suggestions below, but I'm not sure I saw John Gielgud. More women: Maggie Smith (mentioned in the comments but I had to repeat it), Juliet Mills, Sara Miles, Glynis Johns, Hermoine Baddeley, and, never forget, Hermoine Gingold.
You need to make another list for the great British Actors of the Classic Film Era. There were so many like Richard Burton, Ronald Colman, James Mason, etc.
Diana Rigg, Patrick Macnee, John Rhys Davies, Peter Cushing, Pete Postlethwaite, Mollie Sugden, Wendy Richard, Nigel Terry, Basil Rathbone, Alec Guinness, and Kevin Costner as Robin Hood......KIDDING, just kidding.
There were so many more well known, more recognized voices that were left out of this list, and the order was crazy. Rickman in the bottom half? Should have been at the very least top 3.
John hurt should have been first, Jeremy irons, Maggie Smith, Derek Jacobi, Christopher Lee, Patrick Stewart, Michael cane, Brian blessed, Liam Neeson, Alan Rickman, Peter otoole, margolies
Die hard 1 and 3 are probably my fav movies in the franchise. Mainly because of Alan rickman and Jeremy irons playing the main villains. The middle movie, number 2, honestly wasn’t as memorable to me, mostly for the reasons I mentioned before...
I do believe that any classically trained English voice sounds amazing, so choosing is difficult. The only voice that is sexier and more lyrical is Irish.
#10 - Shocked that they didn't mention that in 2007's "Music And Lyrics", the ladies discovered Hugh can sing! #9 - Once Stewart spoke the words, nobody even remembered Shatner's recitation of 'Space... the FINAL frontier.' #8 - Amazed that the only voice-only word Alan ever did was the Caterpillar in "Alice In Wonderland" and Marvin the robot in "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy". #7 - How did most Americans never know who Dame Judi Dench was before taking the role of M? #6 - Nothing would be more tragic than Hurt only being remembered for "Alien".
