No 10 is a great idea. Wasn’t going to have a waste tank on my campervan conversion to save space, but don’t want to empty straight onto the ground. Thought about a bowl, but now I have the perfect solution. Many thanks.
Love the fun in this video, I laughed out loud at Mike trying to put the phone into the case, well done Tricia for not letting on. You both work so well together.
Hi Libellula, sorry for late reply, must have missed this one. You may be newbies, but it will not take you long to get into the swing of things. We sure had a good laugh and carry on making that one.
Great video. Loved that you kept the tease in. I'll look out for the payback video as I'm sure it's coming! I found every tip super informative. Thank you both.
This video is par excellence 👌 Some wonderful ideas thank you. Looking so forward to getting my first motorhome, and these ideas make it even more exciting!
What a power couple! Thank you for creating this video, it was very helpful and informative. I've just got my first camper van and im so excited to start my first road trip. Wish you both all the best :)
Greetings from Poland. Very interesting to see your essentials. My essential? - you guys. You bring so much enjoyment and laughter into my life. Thanks so much.
Love your videos - and loved the idea of the magnetic hooks. Bought them for our Toyota Alphard - only to discover our interior is non-magnetic! Back to the drawing board. Keep up the good work.
Ha ha, good one. We nearly bought an Alphard from Eco Campers, they are really luxurious for a small van, thats probably why not magnetic inside, there will be added insulation.
Another super video packed with yet more great ideas, thank you! Bunree looks beautiful and seemed so quiet, definitely on the list for ‘one day’. Happy travelling 😎
Hello to you both! I've just subscribed and I'm really enjoying all the great videos. Wonderful tips as well. Thanks so much! Sending good vibes from Texas, US
Hey you guys are just fantastic, my husband and I have watched nearly all your vlogs over the last week. We’ve put a deposit on a van and our adventure starts in August so your information has helped us a lot. We’ve also been to quite a few places you’ve been like Wales, St Cyrus (one of our favourite beaches ) and the west coast of Scotland. I would love to know more about your cooking skills in the van the chilli prawns look amazing…… I’m not a great cook and a bit worried about my lack of skills for campervaning. Cheers anyhoo and keep the vlogs coming. Kind regards Nic & Tony - Drumoak Aberdeenshire
Hi you guys, thanks for watching us and you must be so excited about getting your van. We have had to take sometime off and a lot happening at home but still hope to get a few videos out this year. Cheers for now 👍
Great info as always guys, I like my Kampa collapsible electric kettle and I also have a collapsible kettle for the gas when off site. 👌Mouse VW Ocean Scotland
Wow I sure wish we had those comforts. Great ideas and the space savings. Wow. We did have the collapsible chairs. But your other ideas are fantastic. Great ideas. I'm sure others will find them great to use too.
I’m a newbie to the channel but truly love your adventures & advice. I’m currently “working on hubby” for a Proace ♥️. As a tiny caravan owner (T@b 300) I would recommend a Remoska oven ( from Lakeland or pre owned?) expensive initially but soooooo worth it. We use it at home too to save heating up our oven. Thanks guys & keep up the good work x
Thanks, sorry for delay in replying. Good luck working on you hubby for a Proace. We are still waiting for our new van which is why there's not been anything posted from us lately.
Another cracking video. For me it has to be my ipad as that is what I do all my editing on and filming stuff gets us out and about. Top van item would be our non slip trays as we don’t take our table away with us. Loved the magnets on the jars 👍
Greetings from CANADA. I don’t know how I landed on your channel, but I’m glad I did. Love your sense of humor and all the great tips. I also have to mention how beautiful / handsome your dog is…..ADD ONE MORE TO YOUR LIST OF SUBSCRIBERS.
Love your tips. My insect covers are stuck outside the windows with magnets. We Iike collapsing in our collapsible chairs, drinking coffee from collapsible mugs. Water boiled in collapsible kettle. My induction single cooker will be under my top 10. If you have electricity!
Enjoyed your ideas and the presentation - you had fun with it but didn’t talk on endlessly!! Off across Canada to the west from Ontario this season. Hard to imagine from the depths of a snowbelt coooooold spell.
Number 3 - Tarpaulin, poles and guys ropes. Keeps the rain off the open back doors. Number 4 - Another tarpaulin, poles and guy ropes and ground cover for underneath. Keeps the rain and sun off the side door. If you haven’t got a rail get one fitted. Means you can rest in the fresh air outside the van. Lie on the mat , if you don’t have chairs. Number 5 - A decent drive away awning. Not essential, but great for staying somewhere a couple of days. So you only take it in that circumstance. Number 6 - Fold away stools, and foldaway table. (Store almost anywhere in the van - even in the footwell - and gives you outside comfort in seconds). Takes up much less space than foldaway chairs. Can also be carried with a rucksack on a long walk - see how jealous everybody else is when you are sitting off the wet ground (or wet rocks) enjoying your lunch. Number 7 - Foldaway chairs. If you have the space. But useless for walks - get a small folding stool instead. Or maybe an inflatable “chair” or whatever else inflatable you want to use. Number 8 - A portable compressor fridge (if you don’t have one installed in the van). A potential luxury item, but you can get these for a reasonable price nowadays. Dometic ones are probably the best - assuming a win on the lottery. Number 9 - “portable” urinal and wipes - in certain circumstances can be a god-send. And easily packed away in a rucksack. (mostly a tip for the ladies - men are just disgusting and you don’t need to be concerned about them). Porti-potty if you have space, in a toilet tent or awning. Again, in a small camper van these can be essential for those of a “certain age”. Unless you enjoy “hiking” in the dark - and flashing badgers. Or worse still, having a conversation with an insomniac in the camp toilet blocks at 3 am. Number 10 - personal wash items including toothbrush and paste. Absolutely essential to remain in a partnership - and should I really have to mention these? Learn how to take a “towel bath” (tip for the new, spoiled generation - not anybody over 60). Kettles are not really essential (As long as you can boil water in a small pan - you do wash up last night’s stuff don’t you?). But if you have the space in the van, electric hookups etc. then why not? But you can always buy a cup of coffee somewhere - even at the top of Mount Snowdon (and Mont Blanc on the Italian side - again assuming you had a recent win on the “gee gees”. And you can always try sheep droppings - there, I went a whole paragraph without mentioning Costa Coffee or Starbucks.
Thanks for such an amusing video but it also was very helpful with practical ideas for my wife and I with our first motorhome here in New Zealand. You both have a great natural style
@@suelazarus5502 Hi Sue I have looked but couldn’t find a Kiwi supplier. A missed opportunity for Kiwi firms. I think you could buy it on Amazon but the postage would probably be high
@@patrickclifford2223 Thank you for going to the trouble of finding out this info for me. Much appreciated and you are right when you say a missed opportunity for rv stores and the like. I have looked for micro towels but can only find ones as big as a hanky and not the big towel sizes I saw in the video. Could you please do your search magic again for me? Thanks in advance. Sue Lazarus
@@suelazarus5502 Hi Sue We bought 2 large and 2 small microfibre towels from the Warehouse. They were located in an odd area. Car maintenance I think. The towels work really well and dry quickly. Anyway you could get info from the help desk or buy online
Oh yes & can I add another App? It’s the OS ( Ordnance Survey) great for walks ( tho good to have map as back up in remote areas) as it tells you exactly where you are so no getting lost ! Also suggests walks to try
Love your channel and seeing your adventures. We are about to get a pop top and have two cockerpoos, one of which is the absolute double of Keira! Do you remember where the metal bar is from for the food storage jars? I’m struggling to find any but think it’s a brilliant idea! Thanks so much
Hi Kirsty, wish we had kept a note of it but sorry no, but hope you find something. Thanks for watching and we are sure that you will have lots of adventures in your new van and two fur babies including Keira look-alike. All the best, Mike Trish and Keira.
Great fun and excellent advice. I am just investigating with intent to start but wonder whether I should get one of those special satnav systems for campervans etc as I am scared of ending up on small roads. Advice welcome.
I suppose that depends on the size of van you end up with. We just used a regular sat nav because our van was small and never had any major problems, just once or twice we took roads that were very tight, and next time we would use the street view in Google maps to check before we go👍💕🐾
That was very useful really enjoyed watching , one thought was why not put the mobile phone in the case first then stick to the roof , I have to admit I was thinking of Tommy Cooper I was just waiting for you to say Not like that just like that . Take care stay safe Shaun in Canada formally from Ballymoney Co/Antrim
Ha ha yes it was a bit of a Tommy Cooper moment. That would mean having velcro on your phone cover and putting it on/off roof each evening and would wear away at the carpeting. Easier to keep the mobile cover permanently on the roof, but remember to take your phone out of the day cover first😂
Maybe , By now, you May have ditched those multiple power packs and succumbed to the jackory/ all powers type solution . Hope so . They are game changers for off grid . We have one and we are never without power ; especially with the solar panels :) lovely vid thanks 🙏🏻
