I KNOW RIGHT. though i understand because their friendship shines more in the second film which still hasn't come out on blu ray and the first one was developing into the strong bond that we see in the second(though that's not to say the bond wasn't strong in the first) . But still then again their friendship in the first one was way stronger than the one in Wreck it Ralph(only my opinion).
Not necessarily, they don't really communicate with each other in the first movie. It is more like a relationship with a dog and a boy. It just does not give much substance other than that.
They'll make another. This is pretty much classic animated movies. Trust me, if they make another one like all the others, I know they'll have Hiccup & Toothless on there
Anyone else feeling that they completely forgot Hiccup and Toothless, Jim Hawkins and Mr. Silver, Mulan and Mushu, Quasimodo and the gargoyles? Cause those easily beat many of the actual appearances of this video, and by far.
Jacky Martin you do know that the writer of the book gave permission for the change that toothless became a dragon he could fly on and in interviews it is indicated that the terrible terror is the actual toothless. On a other point that has nothing to do with the fact that the friendship displayed in both movies is exceptional.
Jacky Martin She's actually one of the few authors who didn't mind the changes to her book as long as the film was good and she said it still respected the source material.
comicking428 yeah the movie is great but I mean they kinda already have the script written for them and they already know it's going to be animated so why wouldn't they want to save both time and money by being a little more faithful to the book?
I would have put on Hiccup and Toothless, Dory and Marlin, and either Carl and Russell or Ellie and Carl Fredrickson from Up! Seriously Hiccup and Toothless should have been on here! There friendship is incredible!
Mr. Fedora Yep. Same. But f there were a CARTOON best friends, Ash and Pikachu should be on the list. And I think Kristoff and Sven should have been #1.
I think Todd and copper should have been higher because out of all of the friends on this list you feel theirs was tested the most and they fought though it
What about Charlotte and Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog?" Those two had a great friendship, especially on Lottie's part. She was obsessed with marrying a prince and becoming a princess and was relying on the "man-catching beignets (sp?)" to help win him over, but when she saw Tiana covered in sugar and upset, she didn't even give that a second glance. She not only helped her get cleaned up, but gave her a beautiful dress to wear for the party. And when she found out that Tiana and Naveen had fallen in love, she was more than willing to help them break the spell so they could be together. She wasn't even hesitant. I know a friendship like that would've been frowned upon in the South during the 20s, but since that was a Disney movie, it made it all the sweeter.
I just realized a plot hole in the Monsters franchise. If Mike said that Sulley was jealous of his "good looks" since fourth grade, and in Monster's University it was the first time they met. WTF!
Hiccup and Toothless in How to Train your Dragon,Boog and Elliot in Open Season,Ariel and Flounder in The Little Mermaid,Alex and Marty in Madagascar,Barry and Adam in Bee Movie,Dumbo and Timothy in Dumbo,Lewis and Wilbur in Meet the Robinsons,Lightning McQueen and Mater in Cars,Cody and Chicken Joe in Surf`s Up,Rodney and Fender in Robots and Harold and George in Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.

Man, Hiccup and Toothless are so much better than most of these picks. Not being on the list, or even honourable mentions, that's like... crimes against friendship...
I agree with number 1 and 2. But Tulio and Miguel from "Road to Eldorado" should have definitely been at the third spot. Let alone Alex and Marty from Madagascar, Robin Hood and Little John, Tarzan and Terk, Howl and Calcifer from "Howl's moving castle", and so many other friendships that are more iconic and better portrayed than Ralph and Venellope.
ok, i understand that these results were voted by the public, but perhaps you should have split the list into two. 'The Top 10 DISNEY/PIXAR friendships in movies', and Top 10 Cartoon friendships in NON Disney movies. There were too many that you missed! Like: Hiccup and Toothless (HTTYD) Carl and Russell (Up) Lightning McQueen and Mater (Cars) Marlin and Dory (Finding Nemo) Snitter and Rowf (The Plague Dogs) Iron Giant and Hogarth (The Iron Giant) Littlefoot and all his friends (The Land Before Time) Miguel and Tulio (The Road to Eldorado) Balto and Boris (Balto) And plenty others...
Victor Jimenez Not really, the top 3 should have been Timon and Pumba, Lilo and Stitch, and Fox and the Hound. Buzz and Woody are so overrated, Toy Story movies are great, but that friendship has nothing on the 3 I just named, I mean wouldn't Woody and Andy be a closer friendship than Buzz and Woody, idk maybe I'm just biased.
As a child thinking that life was rainbows and ponies, The Fox and the Hound was one of those movies that made me realise how cruel people and life can be. Such a touching friendship.
I grew up without TV, and my siblings and I watched Disney movies all day long instead. Seeing this reminds me of the special place they hold in my heart.
So agreed. It is so odd that Kristoff and Sven for example made it as an honorable mention when that trio was left totally out. The bond between Jim and Silver was way deeper. I think the reason is just because Frozen is more current movie and got way more attention.
My brother and his wife have the same formula with their dogs. First Dog is named Koda (after the bear cub in "brother bear" and their other is Buzz...can you guess from what
Love your guy's videos and you do a fantastic job, but DreamWorks How to Train your Dragon should have been on this list. Hiccup and Toothless are an amazing duo.
WHERE IN THOR'S NAME ARE HICCUP AND TOOTHLESS??! I HAVE THE WHOLE COLLECTION OF HTTYD AND I CAN TELL YOU HICCUP AND TOOTHLESS SHOULD BE ON THIS LIST AND SHOULD BE NUMBER 1.
I just realized that the Monsters University movie has a fatal flaw in its premise. It shows that Mike and Sulley met and became friends in post-secondary, but throughout Monsters Inc and its teaser trailers, the two are portrayed as having known each other since elementary school. As enjoyable as the former is, there is still no face and no palm big enough.
The Fox and the Hound should have been way higher on this list. It should have at least over taken Wreck-It Ralph. Not only did they have a more caring relationship, they loved sacrificially. It added much more to cinema than many of the other movies on this list.
Tuleo and Miguel from the "Road to El Dorado" are my all-time favorites. One is a lovable grifter, i.e. Tuleo, the other, an suave and compassionate dreamer, i.e. Miguel. They are a perfect example of opposites attract because one brings wealth the other brings adventure and they play-off each other perfectly. Friends truly never say goodbye!
I would've stuck Spongebob and Patrick in the HM for good measure. And before anyone says that they don't count because they're on TV... Boom. The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, 2004. So there. :p
Hiccup and Toothless in How to Train your Dragon franchise, Ariel and Flounder in The Little Mermaid, Alex and Marty in Madagascar franchise, Barry and Adam in Bee Movie, Dumbo and Timothy in Dumbo, Lewis and Wilbur in Meet the Robinsons, Lightning McQueen and Mater in Cars franchise, Cody and Chicken Joe in Surf`s Up and Harold and George in Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.
