I used to try to do online dating. Several guys tried to catfish me to get money out of me, found out when I did a reverse picture search on them. Also, even though I was sending real pictures I got accused of catfishing. Some guy in Florida was convinced I was his ex. I gave up on dating entirely. Too much drama.

For a lot of reasons and for different reasons too. I heard of one case where somebody catfished smbdy else out of revenge oO. Some are psychopaths, some want others to suffer, some do it for the money, some do it because they want love but feel they can't find it if they present themselves as themselves etc. ^^

I was once catfished by a guy who literally looked like the twin of Wormtail from Harry Potter (not the actor, the character in the movies). I heard screaming in my head at first sight. I feel like such a horrible person, but he was very codependent and not a hint of confidence (major turn-offs). There's my story and I will never online date again.

#4, Tracy's stalker actually did something worse than going to a.strangers funeral. She filmed from her own cousins funeral and filmed it as well as sending Tracy a picture of the program from it. It was horrible. Plus, the girl had started stalking another woman when Tracy started getting suspicious.

I was catfished by a guy pretending to be a girl. I was 16 or 17 maybe. And the guy pretending to be the girl became my online friend and then after a few months proposed that I should get to know his cousin who's this really great guy and would be perfect for me. And guess who the guy was🤣

Unfortunately, I was catfished by a woman online who was in a group together with me. Well, to be technically correct, the whole of group of us were catfished. To make a long story short, it took a couple months before her whole story started to unravel and then one of the group members searched her images online and found all of them where from the internet, including her pictures of her home. Nothing was real. We still don't know who the person is to this day, but she ran before everyone realized what she was.

OK, teenagers and young adults falling for this stuff I can kind of see but when you are a full-fledged adult with children of your own you should have a little little more apprehension when it comes to things like this. Or you would at least think they would operate with a heavy amount of caution, especially anyone who has any type of fame or notoriety. Additionally, if I met someone on a dating site and they come at me with a business proposal red flags it would be going off all over the place.
