Great idea for a video! I've been thinking about doing a similar video myself. That Joey Tarfolla album rocks! 'Project: Driver' too. The Kyoji Yamamoto album is fantastic too. I recently picked up the Vinnie Moore one... it's great!
Moore, Tafolla, MacAlpine, love these guys! If you wanna get into these guys, you're lucky of the low prices, haha. Chastain would be another one of these shredders whose solo albums are not expensive! Show me your cheap stuff Kim, in these days we can all use some cheap records! As long as the music is good.
@@mercyfulmetal7324 What I like about those guys is that they're not just shredders. There's a lot of melody to their music too (in particular Tafolla). I have lots of very cheap hard rock/AOR records.
Really good video Thomas. Although it may seem like a light hearted take it was a really good showcase of good albums you can pick up at affordable prices. Enjoyed this one.
Cheers man! Yeah, this shows that good music doesn't know a price, there were some absolute bangers in here. The Russian stuff are some hidden treasures, but they cost next to nothing.
I think there might be something there for you. Not the foreign or instrumental stuff though, lol. I think you will like Electric Cinema the most, honestly.
Top Vid Thomas! So many great records can still be got for cheap prices and let's face it some of the expensive rarities don't cut it music wise ha! Ive only heard a couple of these records you've shown, nice stuff and a cool idea for a vid Mate!
True, some rare albums are just more of a gimmick nowadays. This shows you can have some incredible records for very little money. Good music doesn't know a price! Some in here are definitely worth checking out.
Cheers Steve! Some are definitely worth the cheap price. Electric Cinema, Vandenberg, Project Driver. Of course, you gotta enjoy the style of music, but if you see some of these for lower than these prices, they are worth picking up! Good music doesn't know a price tag, neither cheap nor expensive.
Great video Thomas. Those Project Driver and Vinnie Moore albums are great, the guitar playing on both is worth the price of admission alone. Cheers mate
Fantastic topic! I bought a lot of my ZZ Top, Magnum, Genesis, Whitesnake, Nazareth etc. records for 1 Euro and less in the late 90s. You just won´t find these at the prices anymore... still cheap though. Whenever I ordered from Russia I always bought some "Melodia" records for next to nothing as well. The back cover of the Monomakh record is awesome, not only does it have a great moustache it also has the best "manboobs" of all time on a Metal album, hahaha.... I have to play the "Hard Day Group" album now, haven´t heard it in ages.
Melodia, that was it! Haha. The Russian stuff is just so cheap, you can buy some fantastic album for next to nothing. The Hard Day album was very, very cheap when I bought it, like 3 euros or something. Can't imagine buying so many records for 1 euro or less, lol. I think there will be another vinyl depression somewhere in the future.
Shrapnel is fantastic, love their stuff. As well as the non instrumental Shrapnel/Roadrunner bands like Chastain, Vicious Rumors, Phantom Blue, etc. Perhaps I could do a spotlight on this label. Cheers man 🤘
Hi Thomas!!! always cool to see lesser know bands and rare but cheap albums as well...... btw two surprises, seeing Vandenberg and Vinnie Moore's here as cheap record!!! Never heard any of those russian bands, Monomakh artwork is so cheesy that it rock!!! cheers and be well
Monomakh is so fun! I don't know how available the old Russian stuff is over there in South America, but if you can pick this up for a low price, it's a no-brainer! All of these albums are worth picking up for the price! I think you will like Project Driver and Electric Cinema too! Cheers Cristian 🤘
Great vid Thomas, some cool looking bargain buys Have that Joey Tafolla on cassette, I really enjoy it Really enjoy Minds Eye , would like that in my collection Enjoyable vid Mate 🤘
I think you will like Project Driver as well, really fits well with Joey Tafolla and Vinnie Moore. Tony MacAlpine is another one of those great shredders! Luckily for you, Mind's Eye should be a very cheap pickup, haha. Cheers Marty 🤘
Great video and a perfect way to do it regarding the price bracket. As you said I doubt it would be worth it with cds but definitely fine with vinyl. Totally understand where you're coming from with top price album videos but hey we do like seeing what everyone's got that commands top dollar! I don't buy from discogs but probably should? I'm happy enough with what I buy and pay on the places I do for now. If and when I put my collection on discogs I'll probably do a most expensive video. 🤘🏻
You don't need Discogs for a good collection, but it certainly helped me out with some rarities I wouldn't have find otherwise! I do enjoy watching people show the expensive goodies, but I wanted to show you can also have incredible records for next to nothing! Perhaps I'll do a top 10 most expensive albums too again one day. Cheers 🤘
Hi Thomas, just watched the video of your stream with Metal Mickey, and realised I had not subscribed to your channel. Have done now. Great idea for a video, as you say, everyone does a most expensive albums we own from discogs, but this is different. Cheers 🤘 🍻
Cheers man. Hope you enjoyed that livestream! Actually I've seen you around too but never got around to watch your videos, subscribed to you as well man. One day I might do another top most expensive one again.
Pretty much every album you showed looked to me like it should have been rare… not cheap as chips! Now I know they’re inexpensive to buy… watch my Russian Metal collection grow, lol! Always good to see you brother!🤘🏻
Some of these did surprise me a little, not that they were not rare, but not THIS cheap. Luckily it's not the price that makes an album good, it's the music! The old stuff from USSR is overal very cheap, so if you enjoy the old Russian metal, you can buy in bulk, hahaha. Cheers Marc 🤘
Oh man, some of the very best of the Shrapnel releases there. Mind's Eye and Out of the Sun are my top two favorite Shrapnel releases. Pure masterpieces! The M.A.R.S. album is phenomenal as well.
Most of the Shrapnel releases are just stellar with guitar work. My favorites are Marty and Jason. Mind's Eye and Out of the Sun are also top tier shred albums, love them! Other stuff like MARS, Racer X or Chastain are also fantastic.
I'm going to partially take credit for this video idea since I posted a similar video a few months ago, but maybe it's just a coincidence or people thinking the same, haha. Anyway, some very cool stuff you showed here. I need to take a closer look at your channel. I've only watched a few videos so far to date.
First time watching your channel and I see... the video idea is indeed very similar, haha. Fair enough, the "Top... according to Discogs" topic is very common. Not a black metal guy but I'll have a look at your video too. Thanks for watching man 🤘
@@mercyfulmetal7324 Haha, yes, but like I said just a coincidence. Very much a common theme to these here RU-vid videos indeed. I mostly just wrote that for a good laugh.
Great twist on a popular subject for vc people showing off their goods. I’ve found and bought a few rock metal albums really cheap a few years ago but I usually found that they were of average quality except a few gems like Icon debut🤘one for you to check out I think
I've seen that Icon album around a lot, I should really give it a shot, haha. You don't see metal/rock records go for such crazy low prices nowadays. Cheers Brendan 🤘
Dear Thomas, this is Tom again from Japan. This video has very interesting approach no one has yet tried before(?) Yes, cheapest album doesn't straightly mean "crappy thing" and rare one is not always a masterpiece vice versa. Just for honor of Russian metal, so-called "MAIDENish band more than MAIDEN" ARIA is alltime my favorite band and especially I dare say their best album (as far as I believe) "Night Is Shorter Than Day ('95)" is fairly comparable to or even somehow outperform even best moment of MAIDEN!! That album includes "Aces High" and "Hallowed Be Thy Name" moniker at a time in the last part of album!! You should try it if you've not yet listened to...👍
Hello Tom, good to hear from you again! Aria is a fantastic band, definitely the best band from Russia! Love their stuff, I have 3 records of them, Playing With Fire and the debut are my favorites. They definitely do Maiden like no one else could! Hope you're doing well.
