Would you be able to compare how fast these cases yellow? That really Impacts the longevity of these cases in my opinion and has made me hesitant to pick up a clear case in general.
Most brands that are well known now have basically eliminated the yellowing risk for a reasonable use timeframe. I have a iPhone XS spec case that is still perfectly clear. Scratched to hell and back but still clear n
@@dylanwhite6539 I wouldn’t say that’s true for all clear cases. Just take a look at the iPhone 12 spigen ultra hybrid mag case on Amazon. You’ll see a slew of reviews complaining of yellowing within months or even weeks.
@@RandomF3llow that’s true. I got the clear Spigen clear case and it turn yellow in a few months of usage. After that I went with the Otterbox clear case. It last me over a year and a half with no yellow. Just plenty of micro scratches. It was on my 11 pro max. Giving it away to a family member so I just did a Otterbox warranty. Getting a new case soon for it. Sometimes spending more is a good thing.
That is actually a very valid point. I think I just gave up my desire to see the color of my phone through my case now. Mous limited 4.0 is my runner up if I don’t find a case the displays my color choice.
@@JbHomestead Spending more is almost always a good thing. Cheaper is never better in terms of quality. I had to hammer that home for my Mom in particular. You waste more money buying and replacing garbage items rather than buying premium and keeping it for a long time.
There are actually improvements to the Mous Infinity iPhone 13 Pro case to the last generation version. The Tech Reviewer has stated them in her video. I believe the improvements would have bumped it up higher in your ranking lists.
I have the casetify ultra impact with MagSafe and i honestly love it and think it is worth it. I did watch more videos of people reviewing the case and doing phone drops with it prior to purchasing. I also have tested the MagSafe and it works great.
This is the video I needed 2 weeks ago! Haha I've seen some of the cases you've reviewed and were really considering them so I'm glad they are in top 10. I ended up going with an ESR case (no magsafe) which came with 2 screen protectors, and I got to say, for the price I paid for ($12 Canadian) I'm super happy. Yeah, you get what you paid for, but I don't think I need any more. I'm not usually the type to drop my phone everyday, and phones themselves are generally sturdy enough to withstand a few accidents anyways. Build quality is pretty good, buttons are clicky, got decent camera and edge protection, so I'd really recommend it if you don't want to spend $70 on a case (although for a phone this pricey paying a bit more for the case is a good idea too).
I actually bought the castify impact clear with mag safe when it first became available. Prior to that arriving I was using the ESR Halo lock clear mag safe case. The ESR was a cheaper feel in terms of the case and didn't seem to add a ton of drop protection but they don't really boast about that part. The mag safe magnet though was STRONG! and I mean really strong!!! When my castify arrived I switched over and immediate you could tell the quality difference in terms of material and thickness and drop protection. However, I feel like the mag safe magnet on the castify has less strength. My pop grip with the ESR never fell off and I had to basically pry it off which I liked because it meant it was 100% safe and not going to fail on me even in the worst scenario. The castify will hold well but it will give out at about 60-70% compared to ESR. just have to work out what your needs are. Stronger magnet for accessories and car mounts or better drop protection 🤷🏼♀️ I'd recommend both but I wish they would have a baby lol
@@lcph94 Hi Luis! No, neither of them turned yellow. I used the HaloLock for about 3 months and I used the Casetify for a year. I've had no problems with either of them turning yellow. Although, overtime, of course they get dirty.
@@JustLikeAJewel thanks a lot for your response! I’ve used spigen ultra hybrid and in about 3 months the sides have turned yellow/brown and I’ve been cleaning it regularly. Perhaps I’ll try out a clear casetify. Thank you!
@@lcph94 Hi Luis, no problem. Give it a try. Keep in mind though that the coatings they put on to keep it from changing colours like UV yellowing protection or what not, does not last forever. Eventually it does wear off with use. Some are just better than others and last longer. My friend bought a gold coloured phone case and over time the heat/sweat from her hands caused the plastic to turn purple. It really depends, there's no true guarantee. The yellowing is natural and it's part of material degradation. It's accelerated by UV light from the Sun, heat/sweat from hands. Can't completely avoid it. Just like I said, some cases are just made better quality so it withstands better.
Val - I swear you might as well be my daughters! They have the exact same issues as you do with the Magsafe clear case, AND with the AirPods - my one daughter would literally do anything BUT the weird silicone buds from the Pros and Flex/X headphones with a passion! ACKsessory, I adore you Val!
I would say that in my opinion, your number 10 guys it's actually my number one case. For 6 months I have used the EFM Aspen Case Armour (no magsafe), but eventually because of my job, it became kind of yellowish and foggy, so I bought to the Pelican Ranger (w/ magsafe) and at least regarding to drop protection, it's one of the bests. My phone fall from 5 metres straight to the asphalt with the front of the phone facing down (I was working in a boom lift inside a tunnel). The case literally saved my phone. No scratches, no bends, nothing at all. Of course the case got damaged, but my phone still alive with no marks.
Personally I want great protection for my phone while still seeing the design so that’s why I went for a clear case. It doesn’t look the best with the MagSafe magnet of course but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make. I also got the tech21 one. Again as I had a tech21 case for my regular iPhone 11 and I loved it
@@Spider-Man62 thanks a lot for the response! I guess almost all clear cases are the same. Got a Spigen Hybrid case “anti-yellowing” but still the sides turned yellow like in 2-3 months.
Best reviews on the web. I love my Spigen Ultra Hybrid MagSafe Clear Case. Your review is spot on. Even if it yellows over time, for $20 I can always get another, as opposed to the Apple Clear Case for $50! And it mounts perfectly to the Belkin 3 in 1 MagSafe stand. I’m now a Patreon. Keep up the good work.
This isn’t very relevant to the video but it is very important and thought you guys would like to know ,I wanted to say that I’ve been watching for a long time and every product I buy now I use your videos products, and I purchased the influence case by catalyst for my iPhone 13 pro and flolabs screen protector, and they fit perfect , no gaps AT ALL. Perfect fitment , just thought you guys should know it’s a great case/screen protector combo , and a reminder I love your videos , keep up the great work thank you for all your effort and amazing videos!
I almost got the rhinoshield mod nx but the lack of a magsafe clear backplate was the only reason I decided against it. Went ahead and got the casetify impact case for the iphone 13 pro max. Wish I could have gotten ultra impact with the clear bumper but sadly that's only in black and I wasn't a fan of how 'glossy' the black looked. Oh well, very happy with the purchase and can't wait to get it! Thanks for the reviews!
I just can't get on board with a clear case due to the very prominent magsafe ring (though the ones with a blue ring matching Sierra Blue are much better in that regard). The Casetify branding surrounding the camera cluster would be an additional dealbreaker for me.
I’ve got the clear, silicon and leather from Apple for my 13pro max I just don’t want to be disappointed with the 3rd party magsafe 😵💫 just like before on my 12 promax 😳 Great review guys as always 👊🙌👌
I like clear cases however don’t like the yellowing discoloration that they are all prone too. Would have been good to see that discussed in comparison of these cases.
@@bigmaxcc Started at ~8 weeks for me, and progressively gets worse, two different times, a year apart (yes, I gave them a second chance). Numerous reports of this on Amazon etc (you can actually see pictures I posted there), as in 30+% of the reviews mention it. If you don't care about a disgusting dirty brown-yellow color, I don't know what to tell you. Totally embarrassing to be seen with it in public as far as I'm concerned. Will never buy an Otterbox again, they just don't care
Thank you for the great video. This is exactly what i was looking for and you saved me for making a mistake I almost bought one of those slippery soaps cases. Went with something I knew i wanted but didnt know they had, the rhino bumper. Keep making the great videos!
Please, can you do the top 10 thin case for iPhone 13 pro/pro max? Your previous thin case update is 2 years ago. Thank you. Can you add a bonus review for “Val” hand, when see use each case? Does it comfortable? Does it fit girl hand? Can you do the specific review for top 10 thin and light case for women?
I have the incipio grip and I have trouble with some MagSafe accessories but the grippy sides work really well as I’m a very outdoorsy person and helps me grip it through mtb gloves etc.
Love your reviews. Very detailed! Please kindly have a look at the ESR AIR ARMOUR 360 CLEAR CASE. Would love to know how it matches up with the others on this list.
I love you guys! Lol 😂 Great chemistry. - As for the cases, I’ve been a fanboy of the Rhinoshield products for a long time. I got 2 of the bumpers, a couple different color rims, and the extra button back (totally worth it). I mix and match all the time, love it! AND, I can’t slap on a Fishskin (which I learned about from you guys) and totally change up the look!
Thank you for the great review! I just ordered the Casetify MagSafe Ultra Impact clear case based on your review and I also just subscribed, thanks again for making these great reviews!
I have a couple clear MagSafe case for my iPhone 14. One is a Target brand and the other one is from Apple. One is silver grey and the other is white. I even have a colorful one, too. I also have other cases, too.
I love your guy's channel, and I almost made my 1st switch to iPhone ever this year with a 13 Pro and Apple watch....but I cancelled that order and bought a pixel 6 Pro instead LOL. I couldn't go through with it. I got scared and came back to my safe space with a fresh new Pixel. Maybe someday I'll take the plunge and get an iPhone. So by then, maybe the notch will be gone and so will that lightning port!
Got my kids the Spiegen Hybrid and it seems to be a good case. The ridiculous branding on the Casetify cases is a big no for me. Even the Air Cushion branding on the Spiegen cases is too much and completely unnecessary.
Oh man! This video was a week late for me. I just bought the Spec clear case, and it’s more slippery than a sphere of frozen Astro-lube floating in swamp water
Were you able to get your hands on the new Dbrand grip case with MagSafe? I have it and absolutely love it. The grip is amazing and they changed their manufacturing method so the sides don’t come off anymore
@@pfaibsthe case’s sides protrude as a lip to the back and front which causes the case to stick to a surface without sliding around. BUT the actual “back side” of the case is smooth in case you want to put a skin over it. Currently I don’t have one on it though
I love clear cases, but I can’t stand how those stupid circles look. I’ve been using the switcheasy odessy (I need the lanyard strap) since I got my 13 pro, MagSafe is decent enough through the case for charging but I really wish I could use a MagSafe wallet on it
Can you review apple leather cases for 13 pro and how to patina them properly? There are some videos showing how to force patina on the latest 12 & 13 cases, would be better if we get a full on video from you guys.
I watch a lot of your videos and was looking for this one specifically a few weeks ago 😫😭😭 nonetheless I bought the mous infinity transparent clear case. They actually have the MagSafe ring in grey also and the buttons are very responsive. I like it and feel it should be higher rated
Really like the ESR case it’s cheap but I found it’s got the strongest magnet save all the MagSafe cases of tested and combined with the MagSafe car wireless charger it is almost impossible for the phone to fall off the mount unless you get air in the car every pothole and speed bump I went over and the phone never fell off whereas with things like the spigen MagSafe cases or the even the iPhone on its own with no case it could fall off with a moderate size pothole or bump so that’s why it’s become my daily driver
I wish you guys would display the names in print while editing. You talk fast enough to where I have to rewind to try and catch the name so I can look it up.
Great reviews, as usual. I am trying to find a clear case for my 13 pro max that will lay flat. Most of the cases have an aggressive protection ring around the camera. Do you have any suggestions of cases that you have found?
I’m going expensive: I got the Lifeproof Next (iPhone 12 Pro Max). I like it so far, but yeah….its damn expensive. Great video as always. Val (and Monty) add color and fun to these videos. You guys have great chemistry. 👍🏽
I am flabbergasted about the price of the Casetify cases, I am not sure the quality is present! personally, I use a Spigen liquid air case for my iPhone 13!
What do you think about the Catalyst influence for the 13 pro max? I just ordered it and was wondering how the popsocket grip will work with it. I just love the glow in the dark feature but willing to settle with another case if it doesn't hold up.
catalyst influence doesn't have the ring of built-in magnet, hence the popsocket wont work! the magsafe charger can bearly attracted on it, also because the weight of pro max is heavy *ps I bought that , and mine is 13 pro max
Is there a way you can give more affiliate links that work in the uk? I love your videos and would love to support you by using your links but the Amazon ones in particular tend to be only for USA or Canada. Love to Monty.
