Hi, professional bartender here who actually works as a bartender and bar manager, not someone who's working with social media. If you crush the mint leaves whilst making the mojito, the drink will become very bitter rather than sweet. This is because overmuddling the leaves will not only release the oil but also the small stem into the drink, making it bitter. Instead, muddle the lime, sugar and rum and slap the mint in your palm before adding the crushed ice. This will make the drink a lot fresher rather than bitter. Happy drinking!
John Juhasz, you magnificent bastard! Here's to fighting, stealing and drinking! If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you should check out the whiskey tribe. You have basically stated their number one rule! You are destined to be one of us!
*Old Fashioned* is my favourite cocktail of all time. It is so perfect in every definition of the word. It has one of the most unique tastes of all the cocktails I’ve tasted in my life!!!
When you have 9 million subscribers, it means that you are broadcasting to a very diverse group of people with diverse tastes. So a different % of the audience likes different videos and most people by and large, welcome the diversity. We understand that most people, if they're not into the topic of a video just wont watch and that a small minority think that we've ran out of ideas or the idea is useless, simply because they personally don't like the video. There's 7 billion people in the world, RU-vid is a billion things to a billion different people. We like variety and diversity, we have a broad range of interests. We do what we like, we do ideas that our audience suggests that we might be interested in doing. The bottom line is, there ARE people in our audience that will find this video interesting, and because it doesn't cater directly to you specific tastes doesn't mean it's a useless video, it just means the world doesn't revolve around you, that's all. But maybe just give the video a go anyway, you might like it!
Why do you guys always have to clarify why you chose the topic or sometimes talk shit when you get backlash. You guys have 9 million subs and cry when people hurt your feelings. You guys can correct my grammar now like you always do when someone gets under your skin. You guys are pathetic
+Solace- We've never corrected anyone's grammar before, but we do enjoy engaging the audience, so if there are a number of "running out of idea" comments or any other kind of comment, sure we'll reply, most people like it. Signed, KG
lol don't mind those people. They are just copying others comments about running out of ideas, when the fact is they are the one who running out of idea about what to say
What? Well if anyone wants me to take a sip of beer or vodka they will have to eat an entire carolina reaper then drink an entire bottle of everclear or vice versa but they can't drink water or milk or anything else that will save them from the lethal spice and alcohol and can't eat anything that will save them either. i don't even care if it will consider me a murderer if they do it
+who knows Is it because i don't choose to poison myself with what i hate and because i don't like drunks? I never get more than 1 Pina Colada because i am not a drunk, i have no desire to have seizures again, i'd like to be able to drive, i don't want to get sentenced to jail because i raped or killed someone after i got seriously drunk, i don't like the way people act when they are drunk, and my mother was a drunk who died 5 times because she drank so fucking much every single day.
I'm not sure which is worse, that old fashioned was number 4 behind a jack and coke, or that the manhattan wasn't on the list. neither was a gimlet or gin fizz, both superior drinks to most of what's on this list.
As being "Cocktails for men" Jack and Coke I would easily put in first, ordering near anything else (aside from beer or shots) will have you judged as feminine with todays culture, at least where I'm from.
Alain Byam You are taking his comment personally for no fucking reason? Idk bro check your self before you wreck your self. His point was that this top 10 was not as good as some of their previous one and that watch mojo just uploads "terrible" top 10 to fill the gap between the good top 10. If you did a little bit of thinking you would understand what he's trying to say. Dumbass
@@Gator12 - Isn't the Wisconsin Old Fashioned made with cognac? Bourbon is probably the most popular right now, followed by rye across the U.S. For this list, I would've replaced the Bloody Mary/Cesar with Manhattans. I don't see what's particularly manly about Bloody Marys, and lots of women drink them at brunch. Not very many people drink Bloody Cesars.
Top10MetalSongs It's a drink from the family known as a "Highball Cocktail," which is a base of spirit mixed with a larger amount of non-alcoholic liquid. So that includes jack and coke, gin and tonic, pimm's cup... Signed, KG
I've drank everything from the cheapest beer in the store to bootleg liquor to $15 drinks at a luxury restaurant to wine coolers, it doesn't matter to me as long it gets me right lmao
I was at a bar with my friends and we was all trying out fruit alcolic cocktails like sex on the beach and Tequila Sunrise etc. Later I ordered a cocktail called a manhattan and I was not expecting it to give me such a kick. Its a very strong cocktail and its now my number one cocktail drink.
love some of these drinks as a guy... but always found it silly when people equate masculine or feminane qualities for a mixture of liquid chemicls. enjoyed the video though
Tina Belcher speaking of which, I went to the bar tonight with my coworkers and whilst they all drank a pitcher of beer I only other hand was the only guy with a piña colada and they made fun of me for an hour straight 😤
+Matthew Hood my boss drink long island ice tea without ice.... without ice doesnt mean not chilled... have u ever order cola without ice in mcdonald... ?same logic
+Dummi42 For more seasoned drinkers it isn't uncommon as water dilutes and also softens the taste of the liquor. However I still never order without Ice. I love a cold cocktail. If I was to drink it room temp I would be drinking straight with water on the side.
I loved this list and still need to try a few of the variants mentioned. A personal favorite that I'd recommend to anyone who likes a spicy drink is the Moscow Mule.
They put them in the other list. The "girly" cocktail list (cocktails with brighter colors and sweeter tastes). Yes. That is the official term. Why did they not use the official terms?
@Broly The Sarcastic Savage I think he said that because "martini" is a more recognizable word than "vesper". Us Americans be dum, especially during the Cold War, so "martini" was easier to remember. Maybe. Don't quote me on that.
A Black Russian or a Whiskey Sour would be more manly, less feminine than f. e. a Long Island or a Strawberry Mojito. I don't know why it be like dis but it do
***** I'm not sure, but that's the impression I've got from it. I guess it's from the pretty colours of the ingredients, and that the drink can be quite sweet. Personally I have no qualms with drinking a Long Island.
So i am that guy who goes to a bar and orders a Whiskey Neat usually Bourbon sometimes Scotch or Rye always a double 😹😹. I will enjoy a cocktail on occasion i do like Whiskey and Coke, Rum and Coke, Whiskey Sour, Old Fasioned, Mojito, Margarita. Never had a White Russian but kinda want to try one. Also never had a Manhattan or a martini and not super interested in them
I started bar drinking cause I turned legal last year. Thankfully in my country there isn't some masculinity standard where men are ridiculed for ordering "fruity" drinks.
That standard was created by an older generation than us. I’m very straight, go to the gym kinda guy. I love Tequila Sunrises, Screwdrivers, Margaritas, etc. The fruitier the better honestly.
+Heisenberg It's not Watchmojo, the videos are suggested by the community. Stop whining and go suggest something then, if you're so damn full of ideas. www.watchmojo.com/my/suggest.php
Actually, you don't, the martini is more booze typically speaking. Some bartenders/bars will do 3oz of spirit, plus fortified dry vermouth. No respectable bar will server you a long island with 3oz total of booze. The reason people think long islands are strong is because of the sugar content mixed into the drink, if its made correctly you will drink it faster not realizing what's in your beverage. If anything it's a rookies drink and telling of someone who doesn't enjoy the taste of the spirit but wants to get fucked up. There's several other examples of stronger drinks that don't actually mask the flavor of the alcohol in them but rather enhance them, making for a slower more enjoyable drink, and someone who knows when to call it quits.
"Adios Muthafuka aka Adios aka AMF" its like an long island but has 6-7 diffrnt shots of diff alchy in it. Hence the name, would get hammed out partying on Vegas with that cray blue cocktail.
My favourite is "A Right Hand Twist" 40ml Kraken Rum, 25ml Sweet Vermouth, 25ml Campari, 7.5ml PX sherry. Stir on ice, pour over an ice rock in double old fashioned glass, squeeze orange strip oils over top & put it in the glass. A delicious man's drink by a London bartender published in a Waitrose paper Rum supplement in Autumn 2020. Nick from York
i think the best cocktail for men is the "black fox" cocktail, its just sooo strong and minty, gives the guy great breath as well haha :D and its a new one too, so thats nice.
Piña colada. Or at least the combo i make in the blender. 3/4 lt. pinapple juice 1/4 lt. Orange juice. 1 lemon worth of juice. 1 branch of celery. Concentrated coconut oil (up to you) Ice. Thats all good for a family friendly drink. If you want to add vodka or Rum, go ham. Blend, enjoy. Thats for about 4-5 glasses. Or unless you are me, 2 jumbos for myself.
I’m sure. Then again, there’s one alcohol I’ve only ever had once, but it was one of the most enjoyable ones I’ve had, it’s just not a cocktail. Sambuca. Not quite as strong as straight vodka, but boy was it fun.
The list's name is a BIT inaccurate as to what these things are officially identified as. Darker, more bitter cocktails (such as the martini) are referred to as "manly" cocktails, and ones that are brighter and sweeter (like margaritas) are called "girly" cocktails, though they can be drank by any gender, only really being limited by preference. They're old terms, of course, but they definitely did NOT age well. Not really a professional though, so don't quote me on this.
Nikolai Belinski That's one thing I never understood about you english people. Why is it accaptable to call humans "males" or "females". Always has this like... animal/biology ring to it :/
TheGeneralWolf Oh gee. Since when did it become okay to refer to guys like they are some kind of test subject by calling them "men?" I respect women all the time, so don't give me that crap you feminenazi.
