In my opinion, Mr. Colin Firth is one of the most talented actors of modern cinema, his talent can handle any of the most difficult roles, and he is undoubtedly very handsome, courageous and intelligent.. A real Englishman in the best sense of the word.. With love from Russia. ..
From my point of view, Pride and Prejudice should be within top 3😕 if not the first..his portrayal of Mr.Darcy is simply magnificent😍 no one will ever succeed in trying to overperform him
I am a 23 year old girl but in love with a 60 year old man. This started since Pride & Prejudice then after, I watched all of his movies. I am so hopeless. He just increased my standards. Anybody here who's younger than me?
I get that "The King's Speech" is number 1 because of the Oscar, BAFTA, and other awards....but "A Single Man" should be at least number 2...an amazingly nuanced performance that should have won him his first Oscar.
@@colin574firthie2 you are the best actor acting as mr darcy. I have watched this series so many times. You will always be be my favourite "mr darcy". Stay blessed
Well, of course, you're right that "Pride and Prejudice" and "The King's speech" are the masterpieces! And I like it much. But no one haven't mentioned "Girl with a Pearl Earring". Colin Firth is beautiful in his mental anguish. Half a look, half a touch of hands... this excites more than the ardent passions on the screen!💯🙏🙏🙏♥♥♥
I enjoyed the 10 selected and guessed 'The King's Speech' would be number one but I agree with you - his Mr Darcy for the BBC should be included in the top 10!
One of his earliest movies "The Advocate" is one of my favourites. Set in the 1500s in France, he plays a lawyer, looking for a quieter life outside of Paris. Based on some true legal battles at the time, including the trial of a pig. Good movie.
I agree completely. They clearly didn't examine all of his work. "Love Actually"? It was lovely, but did not belong on this list. I thought Valmont was wonderful, and he was outstanding in it. I considered it much better than "Dangerous Liaisons", which got all of the attention. Sadly, I haven't seen A Month in the Country yet, but I will.
To me, Colin's best movie was THE SECRET LAUGHTER OF WOMEN. I own several other DVDs featuring his enormous talent. Colin also makes me wish that all great performers were immortal. .
Are you kidding me, Bridget Jones at no.10? The Tinker tailor soldier and English patient is not a 'colin firth' movie. Come on. The honourable mentions were atleast worth it. You could have included Mamma Mia. Disappointed.
True, his role in "The English Patient" was relatively small. Who made this list? They don't seem to have any idea what they're doing. The English patient was a good movie, and Colin was in it, but it wasn't a Colin Firth movie. They are not the same thing.
Replace Shakespeare In Love & The English Patient with Genius & Arthur Newman, and add Hope Springs, and What A Girl Wants (cute movie, I love it) Lots of Colin!
Most definitely liked him best in The King's Speech (2010) which in turn won him a deserved Academy Award for Best Actor. I also liked him The English Patient (1996), Shakespeare in Love (1998), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) and Kingsman: The Secret Service (2015).
THE KING'S SPEECH is definitely #1. EASY VIRTUE is #2. In the latter, Firth plays a tormented and searching WWI vet who struggles to balance his wants with genteel, country life. He gives the character more realism than Noel Coward ever dared to breathe into it. That in itself is exceptional.

1. 1917 2. Kingsman: The Secret Service 3. The King's Speech 4. The English Patient 5. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy 6. Bridget Jones's Diary 7. Love Actually 8. Shakespeare In Love 9. A Single Man 10. Kingsman: The Golden Circle
I fell in love with Colin Firth after seeing him in “Operation Mincemeat” on Netflix. Having seen only “The King’s Speech” among all the other movies described here, I still love that movie best!
Абсолютно с Вами согласна. Колин великолепен во всех проявлениях своих героев, даже в мерзком образе Майкла Питерсона в мучительно длинном сериале "Лестница" .. , 🌞🤝😍
❤️Thanks for your unconditional love and support you have been showing me. It has been a difficult time for me but your love keeps me strong. I can’t appreciate enough the support from fans who have been standing by me through thick and thin. Where are you watching from?
This list just makes you realize how truly talented Colin Firth is at his craft. I’d put A Single Man at number 2 and remove Love Actually altogether. Good movie, good performance but not exceptional. Still undecided which movie I’d replace it, but Pride and Prejudice definitely needs on this list. I suspect it’s due to being a television series and not a full length motion picture. He’s just exquisite.
I also love P & P very much. Besides the one with Keira Knightly it is my favorite version. But I have to admit regarding acting it was not yet his best time. He just stares all the time with more or less the same face expression at Elizabeth. ;-) His amazing acting abilities came in my opinion later, especially the recent years. But every artist needs time to develop.
A Single Man Colin Firth interpreters a homosexual man who haslost the love of his life, his acting is so moving, the portrayed of George Falconer(his character) is so great that makes you wonder that he could exceed himself, specially in the scene that he receives the news about his lover´s death(Jim
Of course not to correct myself, but to add to my comment, The King´s Speech is great, the extraordinary,, certainly His performance is so impecable that you get speechless
Hi Panchi, you are right about the English patient ! But Soldier spy is one of my dvd's and with Colin Firth. And also right about Bridget at 10 !!!! So many better movies with him.
❤ i just LOVE Mr . Firth !! But i missed so much...i discovered him in Mama Mia ...where he was so GREAT....then i looked for all his previous work...i was never disappointed ❤
It's so crazy I just love him with Brigette Jones It's Just a movie I know their chemistry was so amazing He Read Bridgette inner most thoughts I don't think she would have ever shared her diary
Hugh Grant or Colin Firth... Colin Firth as far as I'm concerned there's no comparison! How can you leave out Mr Darcy?! Seriously? Mr Darcy!!! As far as I'm concerned it's not a list if Pride and Prejudice isn't on there.
Thank you for you constant support, love and care your support and care have brought me this far thanks a lot. Send me a mail via Colinfirthfansprivate@gmail.com
Colin Firth was very good in The KIng's Speech. However, I will remember him forever, in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, outstanding and Mr. Darcy! ... I have not seen him yet in Mincemeat.
Loved the number one, but in fact I love all the film's he has been in. He is such a good actor. Can't wait for his next film, whenever that might be. I would have liked to be Bridget Jones ❤️
I ❤ every Colin Firth movie, every character, every role tho Kings Speech is #1 but it was Mr Darcy i first fell in love with❣️ Colin Firth is by none the best Brit actor of our time 🇺🇸
Thank goodness you didn't mention the cheesy Mamma Mia. 😬 I do believe "Another Country", deserved a massive mention as it was the movie that pushed him into the lime light, it deserved at least #2. Yet #1 was spot on! 👌
Also he has made so many films and he is such a gifted actor. P&P made me a fan. Yeah, kinda disappointed. Hwr, i think he is not too fond of "Mr Darcy". I actually wish he understood (at least why, this fan) loved him playing Darcy. Not down-playing your talent, really. You gave a pretty nondescipt Jane Austen best loved hero a person i can relate to. To be sure, when i re-read P&P this time around, Darcy was just as nondescript as he was when i first read about his love story with Elizabeth Bennet. No BS.
