I'd sub in a hares ear in place of the pheasant tail. For some reason they dont work for me!

Haha, it's funny what works for some people, I feel the same about a Hare's Ear, they never seem to catch many fish. It must be a confidence thing more than the fly....

Do you tie your own mouse fly patter or use someone else's pattern? The pattern you showed looks awesome! I'm always looking for a good mouse pattern.

I tie my own and other people's patterns. The Artimouse by Chris Cutler is a great pattern. I have some in development.
