Hi Luke. I have Brew Crafters and the game is based on Agricola and is about the same weight. Don't be fooled though, for me this is an Agricola killer and I would always choose to play this one over Agricola. There is no feeding mechanism (although you have to pay money for upkeep) and while you do need to brew beer it really feels like you can choose a strategy and stick to it instead of being forced to do a bit of everything. I highly recommend it. The only downside is that you need to organise the bits really well or set up will take a while. It took me nearly one hour to punch and bag everything but it is really worth it.
How very interesting to watch this video after your Innovation video. JOTL is not innovative, it’s just a smaller/shorter version. You also said publishers should take chances and Obsession has a unique theme, like Pret-a-Porter.
Luke, what was your mechanical issue with Firefly? Just the luck regarding the misbehaving cards? I get on ok with Firefly and usually win and get around the luck issue.
Gloomhaven has a digital adaptation, if you want to play it but don't want to spend all the money for it. & Board game arena currently has El Grande & Champions of Midgard in alpha playtesting.
This is a really interesting list, there are a ton of games I will probably never play. You play a lot of games solo, I play a lot of games 2 player so if its 3+ I am already struggling. I own Battlestar Galactica but it has never got to the table yet. I do plan post pandemic to put together a game group and also go to a few conventions. This might help to get some games played.
@@TheBrokenMeeple I do hope to go to some conventions later in the year if it's possible, it would be good to arrange some games, not that I know anybody lol.
Missed live stream. Sorry folks been playing My City campaign with my daughter! Kids got me back to gaming so... I do not agree with you Luke on kids front! 😂
My first thoughts were Captain Sonar, TI, Battle of Five Armies, War of the Ring (I also love LOTR), Through the Ages, Chaos in the Old World, Anachrony, Tidal Blades, Rising Sun & Blood Rage.
So this list is just my gaming shelf :-). I have Star Trek: Ascendancy, Agra, Lords of Hellas and Battle of Five Armies from Lukes list, with KDM and Sidreal Confluence next door. And I have Gloomhaven, Everdale, Nemesis, Cosmic Encounter, New Angeles, Captain Sonar, TI 4, Star Wars Rebellion and Champions of Midgard from Nathans' list :-)
I get your feeling with TI4 that it could have done with a bit of less playtime, but have to disagree on the M.Rex thing. Not all games end with a winner who has been playing space Risk above M.Rex ;) It's a long game though and needs a full compliment ideally to really work ( i dont mind it at 4, but then you have the 2 strategy card picks..) There's been a lot of games trying to come and claim the 'TI4 in x hours' title, but it's a weird game to condense I guess cause no games really have bene able to claim it.
Luke there are a lot of great cideries in the US now with a large concentration of them in Michigan, New York, California, and the Pacific Northwest. Fortunately Cider (also Perry and Mead) were ancillary to the craft beer explosion that has happened here within the last few decades .🍺
There has been a playthrough for Kingdom death monster by Bairnt on Meet me at the table I couldn't get it on ks but after watching his series I wish I could have.
Oh Luke you HAVE to play sideral confluence - so much better than cosmic encounter (although I am a big fan of real time games)... Maybe I'll bring it along to UKGE although think I said I would also teach you obcession then too! Going to have to do a weekend at your games club at some point!!
@@TheBrokenMeeple once the country opens up a bit more I will look at practicalities!! Meanwhile if your ever in the south east (Brighton/Worthing) let me know and we can do some games!!
