I don’t like stalker movies. I had a few stalkers in my life. I’m 75 yrs old now. One happened to me in my twenties and another when I was in high school. Both people I knew but I didn’t know they were stalking me. Finally my brother was told by someone and he told me. I think he would have tried to take care of it but the guy weighed about 75 lbs more and my brother was only about 5’6”! The guy stalking me was over 6 ft and a marine.
Kathy Bates deservedly won her Oscar for playing the chilling, unpredictable Annie Wilkes. It's the only Stephen King adaptation to date to win an Academy Award. Also, James Caan should have been nominated for his amazing work as well.
Jim Carrey in THE CABLE GUY. He'll be your best friend, no matter what. Brought up by the TV shows he watches, neglected by his mother as a child, possibly raped by his babysitter ("Somebody has to kill the babysitter.").
Honorable mention: Christian Grey from the 50 Shades of Grey franchise. He follows Anastasia Steele everywhere she goes even after she made it clear she'd prefer to be left alone when spending time with her family and he outright tells her that he can track her cellphone if she tries to escape to Alaska. Creepy stalker, abuser, gaslighter and terrible "boyfriend" material.
Christian Grey was not meant to be an abusive character. There's actually people that do wind up being in relationships that do BDSM and not always feel like it's abusive.
Alicia Silverstone's movie career shouldve been much bigger than it was. I blame Batman and Robin. It appeared to also pretty much finish off Chris O'Donnells movie career too.
Agreed. Cher Horowitz is deffo her best role, which surpassed both Adrian Forrester & Barbara "Batgirl" Gordon. Her appearance in Aerosmith's "Cryin'" music video was also nothing short of phenomenal ✨️ 💯
The original ending of Fatal Attraction had Alex taking her own life, but framing Michael Douglas's character for it, him getting arrested, but his wife getting him out by providing evidence that he didn't do it. But test audiences didn't like that so they filmed the bathtub murder scene instead. Glenn Close really committed to the role and researched the character, like why would she do certain things, and portrayed Alex as a sad, lonely, yet deeply disturbed woman who was self-destructing, which I think made her more memorable and number one on this list. And the screenwriter didn't like having to change the ending either, and still regrets it.
I watched the Crush , one hour photo & fatal attraction for the first time last month and boy these movies was really good the 80s was something else I wish I was born back then instead of the 2000s lol
Well, "All about Eve" I didn't think she was the creepiest Stalker, but I certainly didn't see it coming when she slowly revealed her fake name, and the way it ended, what Goes around, comes around, another next actress that stalks also.
Is it true that the trope for movie stalkers is that when a guy does it it’s portrayed as sweet or romantic and when a woman does it she’s creepy or a crazy wackjob?
Er kinda because I've had really weird conversations with women about this actually some women have said they want it to happen to them because it's a fantasy of there's but what these women don't realize is that men like that in real life don't look like David or Noah in real life they are disgusting repulsive creeps
Kathy Bates really deserved that Oscar she was amazing but let's face it she's a force in everything she does. Ans Alicia Silverstone was great in the Crush.
Fear is one of the most underrated movies ever, that was one of Wahlberg’s best roles and David McCall as a character was just compelling and surprisingly charming while being psychotic 😭
Yes no one is talking about fear it is a amazing drama/thriller and Mark Wahlberg being hot As can be show it’s not only the ugly or unpopular guys that are stalkers it the nice looking home town boy 5hat can be a stalker.
Keifer Sutherland Phone Booth, Draper in Play Misty For Me, Di Niro in The Fan, the warden in Unsane, Harrison Ford in What Lies Beneath and of course Di Niros Max Cady being sent up by Sideshow Bob forever chasing Bart.
Tony Scott’s 1996 film The Fan always disturbed me. Robert De Niro, Wesley Snipes, Benicio del Toro, Jack Black, and John Leguizamo. So creepy. Didn’t even get honourable mention. 😮
🤔 how is it that The Lovely Bones didn’t make the list or even the honorable mentions 🤦🏽♂️. That movie is still creepy and a very good depiction of the book for sure.
Im surprised Richard Farley from stalking Laura isnt on here but that movie is based on a true story so maybe that's why hes not on the list because all these stalkers are fictional
Another lesser know. Movie was Bad Influence with James Spader playing a good guy & Rob Lowe being a psychopathic stalker who befriends Spader’s character.
The Crush, Fatel Attraction was so good. But Unlawful Entry should have been on this list. Unlawful Entry and Fear scared the hell out of me. But they are both good movies
How is Mr. Me-Mania not on this list? Yeah, I know Perfect Blue is animated, but that doesn't change the fact that the movie and its stalker is terrifying!
Mark Duplass's Josef from indie ff horror/thriller Creep is definitely a contender for top spot on this list. I'd add Michael Keaton's Carter Hayes from Pacific Heights, but he's more of an unhinged interloper than anything so technically doesn't qualify
Speaking of stockers, have a suggestion for a video characters and non-scaryish movies, like Porkys, or somebody could stalk picking up what’s the kind of mind to me if the original movie
The 80s and 90s gave us an amazing genre of films basically “ Michael Douglas got horny and now his family is in trouble” there’s like three different different films with that premise
You could easily make another list with all the suggestions in the comments....including the more recent You and the third adaptation of The Talented Mr Ripley 😱🤗
Mamoru from perfect blue anybody? They went as far as getting Mima to question her sanity. It’s so scary that when Oshi No Ko came out, it’s quite literally EVERYTHING that perfect blue warned us about about, 26 years later.
Annie Wilkes in Misery is supposed to represent his addiction to cocaine, not his relationship with his fans. He wrote Misery after he stopped doing cocaine, he's been very open about it in interviews, how the book represents his struggles with addiction and how he relied on substances to fuel a lot of his writing so that he felt like he wouldn't be successful without it, but eventually knew he had to quit, and how difficult that was because addiction (like Annie) won't let you go willingly
