The Robert Downey Jr. one was especially shitty. The interviewer asked about things that happened almost 20 years ago and had nothing to do with the subject
It was uncalled for he was there to talk about the film not about stuff happened 20 years ago i really found it uncalled for and thought what he did was justified when walking out.

The Bee Gees didn’t just walk off after Clive Anderson said didn’t remember a song. He kept making remarks such as “you’re hit makers… maybe just one letter short”, “my dog likes your music” and “you’ll always be tossers to me”. Clive also kept interrupting them to throw these insults. Barry Gibb went quiet about 5 minutes in and was obviously pissed off and the guy just didn’t stop. They almost didn’t do the interview at all but production told them Clive Anderson was a huge fan. I’m all for dark humor but the whole thing felt more mean spirited than some roasts I’ve seen and this was supposed to be a normal talk show interview.
RDJ tells interviewers before giving interviews that he will only speak about movies or events or whatever and not about his last issues or personal questions involving his relationships with people. If he chooses to bring it up then that's on his own accord, but he asks them to only speak about the movie. I would be pissed off as well.
Yeah but this in not America. In Europe the interviewee does not get to dictate the questions - that's the interviewer's job. If an actor wants to use a TV show to promote their movie that's acceptable, but the tradeoff is that they have to Do An Interview - i.e. answer the questions put to them. If they don't at least make an attempt to answer the questions they're seen as a freeloader - i.e. they want the interviewer to promote their product, but they refuse to give anything in return. Quid pro quo Clarice - quid pro quo.
@@michaelgove9349 It's always the stars dictating the questions. In Europe too. Because t h e y are the famous people, not the interviewers. Those are the rules. And interviewers don't get to change, bend or break these sacred rules. You see, if they try to, they are seen as idiots and hated by the public.
@@michaelgove9349 yeah how did that work out for them?

@@michaelgove9349 But they are promoting their product. And yeah, if the interviewer has the right to do any question he wants the interviewee has the right to don't answer those questions. Because, you see, sometimes those personal questions can be hurtful or can pull the trigger of a deep trauma/problem. That is why the interviewee has the right to ask that certain questions be omitted.
The Bee Gee's left because the host kept disrespecting them. The fact they hadn't left 3 minutes sooner is a testament to the longevity of their career. There's nothing cringy about it, other than the host with an axe to grind against their disco past.
Yep. Anderson was being a complete dick to Barry Gibb. People really need to see the full interview to get it. As you said, it's amazing they didn't walk out sooner.
But how many interviewers DO know an artist's material? It's like when Dan Rather did that long segment about RUSH and was at Geddy Lee's house. Dan Rather just does not impress me as one who would be into RUSH or rock music in general. Maybe Libberachie, or Barry Manilow

It wasn't a liberal who said "Muslims killed us on 9/11". Quite the opposite, in fact, so why don't you cut the generalizing bullshit and hold the individual accountable instead of where they sit on the political spectrum.
BloodBlackJack don't worry about what the Euro trash think of us. We are Americans, we are above reproach. (That was a joke) The USA is at a very unstable place as far as our political climate goes, this has tensions at the highest they've been since the 60s. Many people are trying to pick a side or already on a side and love to point out the flaws of their perceived enemies. I wish it was a better time, for all of us in fact, but here we are at the crossroads and all we have are lunatics leading packs of blind men to a precipice of doom and destruction.
I️m a HUGE fan of RDJ and iron man, that interviewer was waaaay out of line. RDJ was openly vocal about the fact that the topic was uncomfortable and unnecessary to the movie promo. That interviewer either saw that and kept pressing or decided that he didn’t care and kept pressing.
TechBoy 456 RDJ is one of the nicest guys on the planet according to pretty much all of his co-stars. The interviewer was a piece of shit. You don't get RDJ to walk away otherwise. He did an incredible job leaving his past behind.
i watched an interview by the same guy with quentin tarantino and oooohhh my god he kept PUSHING and PUSHING for an answer to a question quentin repeatedly said he had already answered. i felt so bad for robert. hes been sober for 15 years. he hasnt been incarcerated in 15 years. he was there to promo the second avengers. thats it. if the movie, for some very odd reason, mentioned roberts past, then and only then would it have been okay for him to ask such a question.
Sometimes the interviewer is just crossing the line trying to be either too funny or too "professional"but instead turned up to be just annoying and rude that they deserved to be waked out and RDJ did it smoothly and classy as possible.. He was there to talk about movies and not his personal life. When the show is different and the interviewer is polite, it wouldn't be any problem with talking about it. he did it ones already. This one just wanted to embarrass him and present himself as a smart pushy journalist. You don't do it to anybody especially to someone like RDJ who achieved much more than this pore , so called, self-proclaimed "journalist". Well done!
Some reporters and the media are dicks! They only care about their ratings and views not about the subject. Is known that media take information and choose what to reveal to public to draw different attention and opinions altogether. They can twist stories and truths just to get their minutes worth.
The tit doing the RDJ and QT interview is called Martin Bashir. Little weasel of a man that had 5 minutes of fame for trying to be controversial. He's a dickhead.
The Bee Gees did NOT leave because the host forgot about some song. How stupid. Barry was CLEARLY annoyed much earlier, and he also explained that the "negative" line of questioning was the reason after the interview. How ignorant.
As a JOKE. Seriously. Fine, maybe he took offense, but the overall representation about the Bee Gees being upset about forgetting a song is CLEARLY inaccurate.
In the UK there are rules that promotional interviews like this can't be purely promotional since that would constitute free advertising. Therefore there have to be questions about things other than the film itself. The stars all know this, however Krishnan does seem to have taken it upon himself to use these occasions to try to get deep into serious matters. It's a shame we no longer have true talk shows where people were willing to come on and talk at length about something other than what they wanted to promote, but it should be obvious that these press junkets are not the time to try and replicate that.
Rdj's walkout wasn't cringey? He had the right to walkout because those interviews were supposed to be about Age Of Ultron, not about a topic Robert has repeatedly said has made him uncomfortable talking about.
Yet if 90% of other celebrities did it, people would call them entitled brats. Many here suck up to RDJ just because he hasn't fallen off the wagon yet. Phillip Seymour Hoffman went almost two decades without drugs, and we know how that ended up. Once an addict.....
Dale Henderson you’re such an ass. People aren’t “sucking up” to RDJ. They’re commending him for walking out on an interview that obviously made him extremely uncomfortable. Another thing, you can’t predict someone’s future. Especially whether or not they’ll go back to doing drugs. Sometimes people learn their lesson. RDJ appears to have done so
@@dhenderson1810 He's done those interviews, a bunch of times, what more is there to say? Plus, who brings that up while he's doing a press tour for a Marvel movie? Not the appropriate setting for THAT subject
it seems to me that the interviewer talking to rdj was attempting to make the interview something it wasn’t. almost trying to make it a “he reveals all” that’s not what the interview was intended to be. it was supposed to be a couple of questions about the new avengers film. kinda really upsetting to see an interviewer not stick to the topics rdj agreed to answer.
@Rachel - But that's what Americans don't understand about Europe. In Europe, interviewers are not seen as advertising agents for a film. Their job is to reveal something about their interviewee that people don't already know. American actors often find this confusing, because they're used to American interviewers who are pretty much shills for the film industry. In Europe advertising of the movie is merely seen as the bait to get the celebrity in the chair and answering questions. And what's more, if they only want to talk about the product they're promoting, audience attitude will be, "Who does this entitled prima donna think he is? Answer the question he asked you!" Only in America is an interview seen as an advert.
@@michaelgove9349 The problem with the interviewer wasn't that he was asking questions. "Their job is to reveal somthing about their interviewee that people don't already know" yes but you see he's been asked these questions before and they are not fun questions. Just opening up old wounds. You obviously didn't understand what Rachel was trying to say. If they don't get what they were promised, they are allowed to leave. He went to an interview about the movie. So the questions should be about the movie. And sure they can ask personal questions from time to time but there's a limit. A limit I believe this man crossed with his insensitive question.
When interviewers turn into inquisitors it is a chicken shit way for one to conduct themself ignoring the intended purpose of the interview in order to get better ratings at another’s expense is despicable. I’ve screwed up in the past and just because I don’t entertain the masses I can choose to keep my past in the past if I don’t want to address it. I defy anyone to overcome the grip of addiction, past painful relationships or anything other negative experience on the most catastrophic level that a person can go through and come out not just alive but thriving in the Spotlight with Millions and Millions of people up your Ass as if that is a valid reason to take cheap shots because you help people enjoy their miserable lives. It’s not Okay it’s not alright.
Celebrity: Hey I’d like to focus on the topic we agreed with and not my personal life. Otherwise I’ll leave. Interviewer: *brings up trauma and unrelated topics repeatedly* Celebrity: *leaves* Interviewer: Wow what an asshole am I right?
Brian Griffin I know. I know he's infamous for making people piased or upset. it's just if you have a soul why would you question a man who's had a super tough past about his past. some people just suck. I've seen that Tarantino one though too and he was piased
Sometimes "Legitimate" journalists are more invasive and thoughtless than paparazzi. Maybe having some standards for decorum, respect for the subject of the interview, and curbing unnecessary bullshit need to be discussed at most news and entertainment studios. After all, only a couple of these walkouts could have been impossible to avoid given the interviewer had half a brain and a shred of human decency. Whoopi was especially right to walk out on that sack of idiot garbage for saying all Muslims were guilty of the actions of the radicalized extremists that attacked on 9/11/01.
All of the interviewers aren't real journalists though. It's easy to sit in a chair to ask questions. None of these people go out in pursuit of the truth. And ultimately it depends on the person. Being a journalist/non-journalist doesn't stop you or your bosses from being a complete twat
This is what all WatchMojo videos are like. Each entry gets introduced, and the commentator gives explanation, history, and context. If you don't like videos done in this format I wouldn't recommend any other of their videos.
The Boy Cruz let me reiterate so you can comprehend basic English. I'm fully aware of how watch mojo lists are. I've been subscribed for a while. That being said, this video seemed extra wordy compared to previous videos of the same nature. Understand? Or understand?
that's right even for the usual formula this one is badly cut, the commentary wasn't bad but it really missed some more footage of the actual cringe moment
Because they don't have the rights to the interview. brief clips can be used to discuss the topic under fair use; straight up playing all the interviews in their entirety is not fair use.
Of course. Assclown channels like this want to TELL you HOW to think and feel about certain issues and situations. It doesn't suit their political agenda if you start thinking for yourself.....
Okay, Barry Gibb did not just get up after Clive Anderson had made a joke about not remembering a song. He had made insulting jokes multiple times about them as people, then they finally walked off.
Just watched it based on your comment. I think the host was simply trying to be funny, charming, caviler, and his humor, and to an extent, his British humor and demeanor, simply didn't translate. But I don't think he was trying to be rude. I don't think that was his intent. A problem is that Clive doesn't seem to have anything interesting to talk about, so he is trying to pump up an interview that has no where to go. And this Clive, who I am not super familiar with, has ONE, a very forceful personality. Very in your face, and it's not for everyone. Me included as well. TWO, He would do well to ask more interesting questions, and then STFU. He is so manic that it almost puts everyone including the viewer on edge. Hmm, yea, right, yea, sure, yea, sure, I need to always say something, yea, sure, hmm. It's like he is asking a question, and then trying to rush you through the answer, because he really doesn't care about the response at all. It's like he has 40 meaningless questions about the history of their lives, and feels the need to ram through the whole list in 10 minutes. And THREE, he likes to take their words and turn them into jokes, like you might do with a good friend, but there not friends. And worse, he turns the joke on them, and not himself. If he had done those same lame jokes, but made himself the butt of the joke, like a Conan O'Brien would do, then it might have worked out. BUT you can tell that Barry Gibb took the tosser comment way to much to heart and was stewing on that for quite some time as he brings it up. In Britain, it's really not a massive slur most of the time. It's far more casual then he might be used to.
I don't understand at all what exactly the BeeGees were angry about. It couldn't JUST be that Clive Anderson couldn't remember one of their songs. If so that would have been rather petty, I should think.
Robert Downey Jr. I will never not love him. That interviewer asked totally inappropriate questions, and I’m glad he was just like “I’m uncomfortable with this, it’s unrelated to the interview” and he left. Some people, like me, would stay, perhaps not answer depending, but I would feel _obligated_ to stay. We know more enough about his past, and it’s seriously not even our business. He had a bad past and he came out of it better then any of us ever could. He is a role model for many people, including me, because he had a hard life and he came out a star. Screw that interviewer. He sucks.
Pretty sure the interviewer Krishnan Guru-Murthy is known for doing that sort of thing, "gotcha" questions and generally just being a prick. Quentin Tarantino walked out on the same guy.
I'am really sorry but I have to say this: I thought this is suppose to be informative, but every time I watch "watch mojo" I found out the narrator end up talking too freakin much, and didn't give enough "evidence" for the topic. I'am very disappointed.. This is a constructive criticisme, I hope there's some progress regarding the narrator. Here some advice: if you like to talk so much, have your way then, but please don't cut the audio source. It's very annoying to lose some information such as the "dutchess' video". Thank you.
The one with Ryan seacrest didn't seem that bad really. He didn't ask that bad of a question and Robert didn't seem flustered. PR guy was just not having it
Shizamza Shazam usually when interviews like this are held, the PR person is in touch with the interviewer's people and there are a list of questions prepared before hand for the celeb to address/answer. The PR person gives the interviewer a list of no-go questions which could be about the celeb's recent divorce or break up or flop movie and if the interviewer still mentions those topics, the celeb walks out at most times.
They asked this question solely for ratings. Regardless of his answer, it could have started endless media attention. "Robert loves working Kristin, (then some romantic love affair twist)" "Robert doesn't really like working with Kristin (does this mean they hate eachother)?" No matter what he says, they increase their ratings and profit at the expense of both Robert and Kristin. At first I thought the same thing, until I realized if I were a PR manager, I would have never allowed someone to risk answering this just so they could continue to talk about him for 3 more weeks, spreading rumors and assumptions and gossip. There really is no way to win, especially when I'm sure they asked this question specifically knowing his PR manager wouldn't like it. [If none of this makes sense, I'm just clarifying now I haven't slept in like 24 hours and none of what I'm saying has made sense for a while now, so I might delete this later haha]
If you believe that was fake then you didn't see the actual interview... then again people like you go all over the internet saying everything is "fake"
The interviewer from Robert Downey Jr's is actually really annoying and pisses off celebrities a lot, this isn't the only time someone has walked out or gotten offended by him.
I'd rather have an interviewer like him who doesn't kiss these celebrities butts. These people make millions just for speaking the words of others in front of a camera and they expect to be treated like gods who can't be asked tough questions.
TheTruthiest You've obviously never been on either side of the interviewers chair. Interviews have agreed upon topics in advanced for the sake of the television program. You dont think its the least bit disrespectful for the interviewer to ignore the topic and trie to put the interviewee on blast. Yeah what a great guy. But im sure you yourself are a perfect angel thats never done anything wrong in your pathetic life you wish to forget or just go one day with out being harrased about. Thats what most interviews have turned into. Slam the person who agreed to show up for a polite conversation. That's what sells. RDJ has gone to many events for kids dressed like Ironman/Tony Stark just for the sake of the kids. You think Actors act like gods. True of any group whos rich. Some do. Some dont. Are you a football fan? Or any other professional sport for that matter? Bc they are just severly over paid slaves that only do what thier told to do but make more in one game then average people will see thier whole lives. Yet i bet your willing to cut them slack for drunkin drivers, druggies, rapest and molestors bc they play a little boys game that your fat ass likes to sit on a couch and watch from a thousand miles away. I hear more about actors like Chris Evans, RDJ, and Johnny Depp going and doing good things like vist cancer wards, sick kids donations and charity events dressed up as characters they've played. Making sick people feel special for just one small moment of thier lives and giving them one good thing to remember then you will ever hear about a sports player doing so. They are the most self indulged POSs on earth! Or how about a rich person or CEO. Never. They're so consumed by greed theyd kill thier own family's if it meant an extra tax incentive. But hey im just speaking "The Truthiest" here. So do your homework b4 you open your pecker holster of a mouth.
TheTruthiest having you privacy invaded in the first place is highly disgusting then having someone look you in the face and ask about it when you you're there to answer questions about an entirely different subject matter, it's an ambush to get a big headline. It's disgusting and no just because they're celebrities they shouldn't have to open up and tell some sleezy dickhead everything.
Just cause someone is a celebrity doesn't mean they have to put up with shit anymore than the rest of us. Stay on the actual topic of the interview or suffer the consequences, and if you are on topic and asking what's relevant and they still get upset or offended, well that's their right and you just gotta suck it up.
"We will never forget the stunned silence as the two titans left the stage" (about Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walking out on Bill O'Reilly. 1) I never noticed a stunned silence. 2) Titans? Purlease!
Number 10, 8 wasn't cringey at all. Assange had every right to leave and there is no right way for Paris to answer that question. The interviewers were as typical as the reactions.
Assange is a fugitive from justice. Far from being "politely interviewed, he needs to be extradicted with extreme prejudice to a secure location and waterboarded to within an inch of his life.

@@GorcStew correct. Tarantino got frustrated with repetitive questioning about violence in his films when Tarantino had already gone on the record about such matters in-depth in the past. That interviewer got his job through political correctness and left-leaning shtick within British TV these days.

The Bee Gees didn't leave because Clive Anderson forgot a song title. I saw the interview when it was first on TV. I have so much respect for RDJ for walking out when he got uncomfortable with the inappropriate and personal questions that weren’t related with Avengers. Can you believe going in to promote and talk about a movie you were in and then getting berated with very personal questions about things that happened to you in the past? Especially when the interviewer is talking about things that happened a long time ago? Love that he was still respectful and tried to be nice even though it was clear he was very angry.

In the Clive Anderson interview, Clive basically makes jokes at the bee gees expense, basically mocking their appearance and out right insulting them. The straw that broke the camels back was when they were questioned about a period of hiatus when one member had a hit single, another member mentioned that they also had a single and Clive said “I forgot that one”, after the same member had mentioned that their singles are “like their babies”. Honestly, I think it would be a personal insult to your own pride to not just leave at that point.
The breaking point of that interview was when Clive asked about some public possibly thinking that BeeGees were just a bunch of "wankers." Barry took offense to that vulgar language and insinuating that someone, somewhere, didn't appreciate them.
My dad had just passed recently when that RDJ interview happened and it made my blood boil, which is a hard thing to do these days. A close friend told me he thought the questions were OK to ask, I disagreed. If that idiot wanted to ask those questions, he should've asked RDJ for a moment after the interview and said I'd like to ask you some more personal questions, possibly in another interview, would you care to do that. What a jerk...

I saw the whole interview. Barry Gibb tightened up over the "tossers" remark. Gibb mentioned that the original name of The Beegees was The Tossers. The host joked that they will always be tossers. At that point, Barry Gibb tightened right up. The joke didn't faze Maurice or Robin.
Trump hates dumb liberals accusing him of shit that clearly didn’t happen just like this whole impeachment crap which is just making the dems look even more like jokes 😂
There an old Green Day gem of an interview. They didn't walk out. Instead, they walk away from the shows host, grabbed instruments from the show's band, and began playing. I believe they played scattered
The Bee Gees didn't simply walk out on Clive Anderson because he claimed he'd forgotten one or two of their songs, he was incredibly rude and belittling of them from the time the interview started, calling them "tossers" among other slights. I'm surprised they stayed talking to him for as long as they did.
Example 2: Jim Gordon in a scene in "The Dark Knight" trailer that didn't happen in the movie before he was "killed," therefore leading me to believe he was only faking his death when I saw it in the theatre.
Well O’Riley told the truth in that case. Radical Islamic Terrorists did kill for Allah on 9-11. Even if an argument was made that they weren’t “real Muslims.” These same women would be easy to lump true Christianity into being involved in bombing abortion clinics.
