There are too many hilarious shows to have just one countdown. I hope there's another list like this.

I love spaced.I still love it.The warm fuzzy feeling from spotting the cultural references and the funny and mostly likeable characters made it fun to watch.Again it was so achingly hip that it may well feel dated if doesnt already but i do love it

I'm American, and I'm happy to see you've included several of my favorite British shows (in no particular order): Red Dwarf, The Thick of It, The Young Ones, Spaced and Ab-Fab. How you could leave out "Blackadder" is beyond me, however.

Great seeing RED DWARF as #1 I had seen it on PBS back in the Day I Assume the first 8 Years of the Series up til Back to Earth Missed that + the second Renewal "Smoke Me a Kipper I'll be Back For Breakfast" or something along those Lines that Rimmer had Said.

Great list! Wish The Mighty Boosh had been a bit higher up though, and Blackadder was greatly missed!

Coupling! Coupling is the greatest! I nearly died laughing to the episode "the man with two legs"

what about dinner ladies, royal family, fawlty towers, one foot in the grave, only fools and horses, gimme gimme, porridge, blacker adder, the office, father ted, the vicar of dibley, dads army, bottom ect. you need to make another top 10 just this few cult classic sitcoms.

Considering this is meant to be a list of *CULT comedy series* I don't understand why *Steven Moffat's series 'Joking Apart',* a terrific two-season, 13 episode comedy programme that was aired on BBC in 1991 (pilot), 1993 (six episodes), and 1995 (six episodes), wasn't included in this list. *The rights were purchased from BBC by a fan of the series* who had the actors record commentary, then DVDs made to sell (that are SO much worth their cost). :) It was a *much funnier* show than another of his comedy series, 'Coupling', which achieved an attempted remake in the U.S.A.

Great list, glad red dwarf is number 1 (deservedly so) and great to see LOG so high. Would have added Bottom on the list though. Also, some people on the comment section really need to learn what the term "cult" means.

No. 1: red dwarf, YES!!! But no blackadder? No bottom? (tho bottom was after the young ones) and no only fools and horses? (tho it was briefly shown at the start). Glad red dwarf was tops but I feel you missed a few greats out. P.s if your in trouble he will save the day, he's brave and he's fearless some what may, without him the mission would go astray he's Arnold, Arnold, Arnold rimmer without him life would be much grimmer, he's handsome trim and so much slimmer he will never need a zimmer!

The fact that they're popular (or, at least, widely known) means that they can't be classified as cult shows. Real cult sitcoms would be things like Dial Z for Xylophone, The Miraculous Ferret, Shorty's Saga, Captain Blancmange, Emma and the Roids, The Beige Society or Olaf: Diary of an Underwear Thief

How the fudge did you manage to compile this list and remove all the laughs. That's a talent!

I could possibly understand you skipping Keeping up appearances, but Fawlty towers??? (and Blackadder, that a lot of others have mentioned)

WTF... where is The Vicar of Dibley, Yes Minister/Prime Minister, The Office, Fawlty Towers, Black Adder, Extras, Minder, Hamish McBeth, Ballykissangle, To the Manor Born, The Good Life, The Goodies etc... I am not saying Red Dwarf should not be at the top of the list, it probably should, as do The Young Ones and Black Books (personal fav, esp the Sweeney Ep) but some of the rest are dross.

Hey, whaddaya know, many of the best TV shows of all time are on this list. Still, I'm surprised Peep Show didn't make it onto the actual list. For my money it's the best of the lot.

How is Nighty Night a cult classic? Barely anyone talks about that show. It was ok..very dark and Ruth Jones was great but I can't believe it actually has a "cult following" to this day like the others do. Was the 2016 series of Red Dwarf really "well received"? I didn't even know it happened until after it aired and then when I watched it all...it only had a few small laughs. The canned laughter has gotten stronger over the years and whoever controls it is really trigger happy. It certainly is number 1 in terms of "cult" status but mostly because of the older seasons, kind of like The Simpsons and Family Guy etc. Black Books should have been higher and I would say that both Father Ted and Men Behaving Badly had cult followings but then they might be on your other lists.

I love British Comedy. We don't get enough of your reruns. I love it if BBC America would stop playing all the Star Trek reruns and put on any of the TV shows. Or if we could get a real BBC channel. I loved the Young Ones and l think l saw Jennifer Sanders as an extra on this show. Ad Fab is one of my all time favorites. Don't take Star Trek off we just need more comedy.😍🤗😜😹🦄☺😈😘😍😆

Where is "Are You Being Served?"

'Absolutely Fabulous' produced episodes until 2012 not 2004.

Great list but Black Books number 8, really? It should be number one without a shadow of a doubt. Dylan Moran's performance and writing is genius and Graham Linehan also co-wrote season one. I often wonder why he stopped after season one. Moran is also an incredible stand up, perhaps the best there is, 'Monster' is absolutely hilarious!! Anyone who hasn't seen it should check it out now!!

The Mighty Boosh is the best show, so sad there's only 3 series!

the IT crowd should be in here. sometimes it relied too much on people falling over but there were alot of epic moments in that show. Perfect casting too.
