I love it when videos go into the old and ancient stories of ghost, goblins, and fae. This was a great video! A couple of notes: the actual spelling for banshee, if we're going the traditional route, is 'bean sidhe' (bahn-she). Also, Samhain is pronounced as 'sah-win' or 'sow-in', not sam-hane. It's very easy to get the pronunciation wrong, when it's not phonetic for most English speakers. Also, be warned, if you name your cat Bean-Sidhe (Banshee), it's likely going to live up to the name, mine did. LOL
The chupacabra I believe is actually a real critter. Although I think the story has been glorified over the years or perhaps “science” actually got ahold of one for their genetic mutation experiments. There’s a video I was listening to (like background noise) awhile back talking about a shipwreck. I didn’t pay enough attention to many details, and only raised my head a couple times. One of those times was when this ship ran to ground. Some of the critters it was transporting was killed, some still onboard, some recaptured and some.. never found. The description of a mated pair sounded like the chupacabras. The ship ran to ground somewhere around Mexico..? Could have been a bit more south. So thank whoever was collecting these critters for this nightmare.
I believe that the jellyfish-like "alien" (43:14 - 44:10) in the video is actually a big fin squid, a deep sea squid that was discovered around 20 years ago, it usually lives around hadal zone is actually the only squid known to currently live in that zone, not sure what it's doing at the surface though.
The Sidhe, or fae, commonly thought to be the people of the goddess Danu after losing a battle to invaders they were giving the option to leave or to live under the hills and forests of Erie. They retreated underground and are known as the people of the mounds. Never give them your name, there is power in a name. Never make a deal with them, they don’t lie but myth tells us they can twist and shape words around that would have you offering up Your first born and believing you made a good deal. It doesn’t have to be socks, you can turn a jacket or shirt inside out and twill prevent you from being pixie led. A piece of ground clover in your pocket will also serve as protection. Never call them fairy, the wee ones, the good folk, the gentry, the good neighbors or the mound people. Also for those looking to encounter them, in between times dawn and dusk, not dark but not light, also in between places, where the meadow meets the tree line of the forest, where the sand meets the ocean, where the creek meets the bank are your best bet.
The Kelpie horse! I just watched a video on a new discovery of a “dinosaur” found that isn’t like any previously found. The skeleton looked suspiciously like a water horse. The head Definitely looked horse. There was fins in the front though
@@downside_ from 2 months ago? I wish I could. I believe I’m subscribed to the channel but not sure on that. Maybe try, new rare dino discovery ?? I’ll try to find you what I watched but might be a minute
It drives me crazy if people are going to put themselves forward as being knowledgeable on a subject, they should learn how to pronounce things properly!
My favorite story is the moth man, the moth man is a creature that looks like a crossbreed between a moth and a man obviously, he was seen over a bridge one day and then a few days later it collapsed killing 42 people and ever since he has been known as a harbinger of doom, some say he was seen over chernobyl before it had it's meltdown and actually the town of Chernobyl had nothing to do with the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant they just named it
Although I believe that Sasquatch exists, I definitely don't want to get up close and personal with one. Seeing one from a distance would be just fine.
You guys should check out the legends from El Salvador some of them are creepy they even have a devil hour where at both noon and midnight there are whirlwind all over the place
In eastern Europe they have the Wurdalak, a vampire that only preys on the people he loves the most in life. He will call out the loved one's name, and if the person lets him in, he will attack. Not a good idea to let a VAMPIRE into your house.
They also shape shift into a love one you know, my bigger brother when he was little was fooled by them thinking he was playing with one of his little cousins, my aunt was the one who caught him in time playing in the backyard forest area after 4 am , she called him back inside and he was shocked seeing our cousin is still in bed asleep.
I went to a college with secret tunnels underneath the theatre. They were created as a bunker during the Cold War and went about 200 feet down. People brought a couch down there and cafe and all incase of a the war growing.
I’m confused on how the men had to carry their coffins on their backs? What was holding the coffins on to the men’s backs.? Why didn’t they just get up and walk away from the coffins??
I love these videos but the first girl annoys me somehow. I love her because she does a damn good job but why does almost every sentence end with her sounding like her batteries died?
The Femme, French for Woman, in the fist set of this video pronounced “Samhain” wrong. C’est , French for its, pronounced Sow-ain. With “Sow” rhyming with Cow.
2:35 - 2:50 Its fiction baby girl it's not that deep. There's nothing wrong with having different versions of something. Its like people forget that. Twilight and the Vampire Diaries wasn't bad at all i actually liked them quite a bit. This is coming from a guy.
Not everybody doesn't understand Old English for instance Shakespearean English makes more sense to me than modern English I would have understood what was being said but you didn't even bother to go hey oh well it doesn't matter because it wasn't revelant if it wasn't relevant it wouldn't have been part of the story I hate stupid people that don't that they're stupid and just go oh well
I'd read EVERY folklore tale about peasants as vampires before I'd read one page of Stephanie Meyers books. Sparkly vampires aren't tragic... they're hilarious. Anne Rice for life!
They are more humanized vampires. Seriously I never understood the constant whining about the vampires in twilight or TVD. And even the vampires in both series were still perceived as incredibly dangerous.
