I find it astonishing how quickly this show shifted from "cute little frog show" to "wanna see your main character die?"

Fun Fact: Grime losing his arm was foreshadowed because throughout the show his cape was covering his arm.

Justin Felbinger's performance, especially in The Hardest Thing, was enough to break all our hearts. The raw emotion and love he put into every line of Sprig was just so affecting! BRAVO!

For me, the Marcy being possessed by The Core was the darkest scene of all the series. True Colors was a mix of dark + sadness, and The Hardest Thing was mostly sad. But aside from that, I was shocked that True Colors was the only episode with a warning. Olivia & Yunan episode was far more traumatic in my opinion.

Never forget how strong Amphibia is with it's moments, especially the series finale. I'm grateful that Amphibia ended on a high note.

Finally Amphibia is getting recognised by the public. It really proved itself to be more than just a normal kids show. One more thing Anne’s emotional heroic death kind of reminded me of Fern’s tragic death in Adventure Time’s Come Along With Me. Also my favourite character is Marcy.

Something about Marcy getting possessed will always make it #1 for me. It was genuinely terrifying and I did not see it coming. Even with everything else that happens before it or after it, it will always be the darkest scene imo.

The fact that Ms Mojo knows about the fandom's theory of Anne losing her arm... crazy!!

Never would have guessed that this series would show how dark it can be, especially with how they stepped up their game with the last two seasons.

So here’s a few facts that make #3 and #2 darker. For number 3, the reason why true colors was delayed was because Disney had them add in the ending showing marcy was alive, we were supposed to think Marcy was dead until we saw her again in season 3 And for number 2, the possession scene was cut down by almost half a minute, marcy was supposed to mentally fight against the core instead of being immediately possessed, but Disney decided it was too dark and had the scene shortened

Marcy's screams will never fail to hurt me. Right when I thought I was getting my favorite character back they do this.

In all honesty, I was shocked that Marcy getting stabbed was only at #3. True Colors was the only episode with a content warning before it aired, so I thought that would be enough to boost it to the top. Also, you should do a Top 10 Darkest Owl House Moments! I know we're still waiting for season 3, but I feel like there's enough to make a list for it.

Marcy getting stabbed and later possessed messed me up the most. Since she's my favorite character so I wasn't the same for months after "True Colors". But I'm glad she's fine and doing happy right now. But seeing that happen to the sweetest and most relatable character on this show is heartbreaking.

Darcy's creation is definitely the darkest scene of the show and honestly one of the worst things I've ever seen (I mean that as a compliment). I mean, you guys said it best: it's a fate worse than death. Anne dying was beautiful and crushing, but Marcy getting her consciousness overwritten was just awful on a whole other level. The fact that she orchestrated the events that put her in that position makes it even worse. She did everything an isekai protagonist is "supposed" to do and was rewarded in the worst possible way. 10/10 scene without a doubt

Sasha Waybright is my favorite character from the start. I have a knack for liking villains with potential redemption in the end. Seeing their character developments as the story progress is really interesting for me.

I relate to Anne a lot in terms of her casual attitude and how she'd always let people walk all over her, but my favorite has to be Marcy. Her dorkiness, clumsiness and hyperfocus have made her into our little adorkable nerd who we want to protect.

My favorite Amphibia character is and always will be Marcy! Being the most tragic human character from the show, I connected to her the most and felt sorry for her. Aside from that, Marcy’s intelligence, cuteness, clumsiness, and love for anime is why I love her so much.😄

Finally the show gets more recognition

I believe Sasha Waybright is my favorite character in Amphibia. At the very least, she is my favorite of the calamity trio. Plus, when you think about it, Amphibia really is a dark series with lighthearted moments. The threat of death is always looming over all the characters, with Anne actually dying in the final episode. Not to mention the moments when Anne, Sasha, and Marcy's friendship was on the verge of ending in the worst of terms. Seriously, it was a miracle in it of itself that they were able to save their friendship and remain friends even when they drifted apart. Along with the numerous traumatic moments that Amphibia had. This show had plenty of dark moments. Edit: the Anne Boonchuy that came back is the same Anne Boonchuy, not just a copy. It really is up to interpretation because Matt Braly didn't give a clear answer when questioned about what happened to Anne.

When the show brought out these moments is really brought out the show, It showed that even kids shows can have dark meanings and imagery. It really makes Amphibia stand out, Amphibia managed to bypass some of Disneys rules and did what they did. Amphibia will always be apart of my life.

-BIG SPOILERS FOR TRUE COLORS- Man, the whole scene where Andrias let Sprig fall to his death, and what followed after, was THE darkest moment for me. Sprig's Fall, the Plantar's despair in their faces, and Anne being in absolute shock, inmediately followed by the most heart wrenching flashbacks moments ever, were absolutely painful, but hearing Sprig's "You're a Hero, an ugly ugly ugly hero!" moment broke me to tears, just to proceed to yell as a little boy with Anne's "give him back" moment and what followed after! A roller-coaster of emotions, that I haven't felt in a big big time. Matt Braly, I love you so much ! Thanks, for Amphibia, and the love you gave us these last years !

A great show. I still miss it. Can't believe it's been a month already.

Seeing two of your best friends; getting stabbed in front of your very eyes and the other says “you’re better off without me” is heartbreaking

I know it was overshadowed by the stabbing, but I was really expecting Andrias' attempted murder of Sprig to get a high spot. It was one of the most purely sadistic acts I've ever seen in a cartoon. Dude really went "I will now attempt to murder a child" and did it like three times in ten minutes.

I knew Anne's death was the darkest, but the part when she and Sprig hugged and cried at the end of an episode in season 2 was left out.

Marcy’s scream during her possession still gives me shivers when I hear it

I screamed my head off when I saw Grime get his arm chopped off! Not counting when Tiger Claw's hand got chopped off in TMNT 2012, I don’t think I’ve seen that in a kids cartoon when someone becomes an amputee Finn the human’s arm turned into grass and Della Duck cut her leg offscreen! This was just 😱😱😱😱😱😱

Man! Seeing Amphibia darkest moments is really dark and emotional to see

1. Apothecary Gary's mushrooms actually serve a plot point in season 3 2. "True Colors" actually had a viewer discretion warning before the episode aired 3. Andrias letting Sprig fall is actually conected to Leif

Also just a reminder that Marcy's "death" in s2 caused some issues at Disney. The s2 finale was postponed for a few days and Disney played with possibly censoring the scene (not showing the sword through her chest and only showing the light of the sword's flames, there are a few concepts of this online). Afterwards, Disney finally agreed to show it if they put a disclaimer at the beginning of the episode that some scenes had disturbing content. The fact that this disclaimer wasn't used for any other episodes throughout the rest of the show is pretty telling of how big of a deal True Colours was at the time. They didn’t even show the disclaimer dyring "Olivia and Yunan" (when Darcy is created), "All In" (dismemberment, death, loss of hope), and "The Hardest Thing" (war, death, trauma, existentialism).

I know I’m an hour late, but when I saw the thumbnail, I was happy. Anne, Sasha, Marcy, Sprig, Polly, Hop-Pop, Grime, Olivia, and Yunan need a vacation after everything they’ve persevered through, and needless to say, I wanna hug all of them for being such great and lovable characters. It’s only been roughly a month since Amphibia ended, and with The Owl House nearing its [incredibly unwarranted] conclusion, The Ghost and Molly McGee and [to another extent] Big City Greens are the only more recent Disney animated shows I currently have left to lean back on.

A month later I’m still crying because Amphibia ended 😭😭😭😭😭

When I first started watching Amphibia, it just seemed like a cute little kids show about frogs... Then fast forward to me sitting watching the last episode as it aired, I was crying for the whole episode, I ended up crying for a whole hour straight after it, I cried so hard I nearly threw up, I calmed down and then I cried for another half hour, then I watched it again and cried more. I was not ready for how upsetting this show would would be, but I'm DEFINIETLY not disappointed. Some of the characters were extremely relatable... When I watched Marcy's flashback of the sleepover... Where her friends did not care for her intrests... That hit a little too close to home. When she was in The Cores mind scape and there were the copies of Anne and Sasha, her realising that the real versions of her friends would not want what she wants was so painful to watch, knowing that my friends are like that too... In the beginning of the end when Sasha and Anne find out how Marcy felt with the whole "Your friend? Don't be silly. You're not friends. Not anymore. And examining Marcy's memories, it's doubtful you ever were." Line... That shook me to the core. The writers did such an amzing job at showing each characters emotions, making them feel so real. I thank everybody who worked on this show, it has to be one of my all time favourites.

Its been a month since Amphibia officially ended and seeing people making post and watching the show makes me so happy that more people are loving this silly (but dark) frog show ! ALSO THE REUNION SCENE WHERE SASHA IS FALLING AND U JUST CUT AS SHES FALLING

My favorite character is Anne Boonchuy💙, she grew up so much in Amphibia and I love that, besides she is so cute and her way of being, makes many love her.❤

I am beyond happy that one of my favorite animated series of all time finally got the spotlight it deserved on this channel. And all it took was for it to end...

From all the cartoon shows I've watched, there's no greater friendship than the one between Anne and Sprig. Those two will always be my favorite characters of all time.

I once imagine to what would happen if Amphibia did a crossover with gravity falls. I still have goosebumps by remembering Sasha’s sacrifice and dark Marcy as one of my dark favorites of the show.

When I watched the “True Colors” episode as it aired, it was so amazing but at the end, all I could do was gasp and go “Marcy!” before being left with the wish to see the next episode.😭 “Amphibia” is such an amazing show and proves that cartoons can be complex and meant for more than just kids.

I loved Amphibia I’m really sad the show is over also I really liked all of the characters equally I couldn’t believe all the dark moments this show had and I agree with everything on this list also I’m really glad I gave this show a chance as I wasn’t totally interested at it at first thinking it was gonna be a boring show (since it was about a teenage girl getting trapped in a world full of talking Amphibians) it just didn’t feel like something I’d enjoy but when the episode Wax Museum was announced and that it was gonna be a crossover with Gravity Falls (which was one of my absolute favorite Disney shows) I decided to watch the episode and I ended up really enjoying it so I decided to watch the rest of the series and I really enjoyed it so then I became a big fan of the show

Despite the dark moments, I really enjoy this series. It’s one of my favorite series along with My little pony friendship is magic, Ducktales 2017, Gravity Falls, The owl house and the ghost and Molly Mcgee.

What about when the Plantars were about to get dissected in a lab hidden in a children's museum? That was the moment that disturbed me the most. And the Gravity Falls wax museum episode! I'm surprised neither of those made the list. Oh, and my favorite character has always been Sasha.

In fact one of the greatest series I have ever seen since most likely Avatar, gravity falls, svsfoe, and even one piece and dbz, not to mention solid story elements and endearing characters since Iron Giant and Capture The Flag, though I was expecting more the foreshadowing of loosing or sacrificing Anne’s arm and Sasha’s eye

Finally, more people actually gets and understand Domino’s explanation and are not just hearing what they want to hear. Anne is gone, sacrificed herself to save everyone, and the Re-birthday thing is for the Anne clone. It is utterly brilliant, doesn’t undercut Anne’s sacrifice and creates a whole new slew of questions and possibility for story telling.

Mar Mar is my favorite Edit: I absolutely love how Ann was dressed as a link from legend of Zelda breath of the wild that is hilarious.

The only thing that I stressed over more than the dark outcomes was the possibility that this show's execution would fall as flat as many others did back in 2019, the failings of which shattered my faith in shows altogether until this one's finale restored it. It was so bad for me I had several Hunter-esque panic attacks before the finale aired.

It interesting to note that fans notice that news report of the from invasion anniversary and Anne’s birthday are happening at the same time in the last episode. This is a nod that Anne was reborn on the day of the invasion after dying, and that it was less than a year that the three girls went missing.
