To me, that was more gut wrenching than the fight. Bruce was already drained, looking to collapse and only after crawling up the Batcave stairs, looking to find a short spot of relief and much needed rest, finds his surrogate father lying, bleeding on the floor and then to add insult to injury hears the voice of Death, taunting him. Bane! The sanctity of his home violated was too much for Wayne to bear. Bane was here for a final confrontation. Bruce knew that there was no surviving this fight, he was ready to die at this moment, but he was going to give it his all. He wouldn't give Bane the satisfaction of an easy defeat. However, with the physical and mental exhaustion taking it's toll on the battered Dark Knight, his defensive prowess was depleted and his agility built up by years of physical perfection, was nothing to the steroid infused monster and the fight was over long before it began. Bane decided then, killing him would only end his pain, silence his shame and Batman must continue to suffer, so he broke his body, as he had already broken his spirit.

What's your point ? Bane as a character is anything but cheesy. Those "references" are usually for expository narration. You don't hear Bane going around spouting "I broke the bat! I broke the bat!" every other line of dialogue. The suicide squad comics barely even mention Batman.

1.That wasn't green arrow that helped him during the fight, that was carrie Kelly. 2.It's not that unrealistic to believe batman could beat superman, I'm sure it wouldn't be that far fetched to assume him of paranoid and plan ahead of time to keep him in check. 3. And lastly, in a way neither of them really "won", it was just something that Bruce had planned to fake his death so he wouldn't be hunted down for the joker's death which he didn't cause.

Batman has a fight with Superman and manages to "beat" him. It doesn't change the fact that the regular DC Batman has never even come close to matching it, nor does it make this fight valid for debate. It's like if you got in a debate and brought up Supermans mind-wiping kiss powers from Superman II. Sure, A Superman did that, but not THE canon Superman.
