There is so much that you can make a top 10 for each episode.

The books are coherent and have an actual narrative. The series is just a waste of time. The writers of the series are so focused on "keeping the viewers guessing" that they forgot to actually write an enjoyable story with relatable characters that we could root for. Now I only root for Sauron, hope that he burns the whole place down.

Kinda glad Halbrand ended up as Sauron, saw too many people trying to ship him to Galadriel which is a huge slap in the face to Celeborn.

This series is a fanfic. It's insulting that someone thought "I can improve on work by the greatest writer of all time."

Maybe you should make a list of top 10 compatible things with books. Although I do not know if you will find that much.

What about the "wrong" Timeline? As far as I understood: in tolkiens original stories (Akallabeth) Sauron helped the Elfs to forge the rings around the year 1000 in the second age. At the same time Saurons Ring, Mordor and Barad Dur were build. In the year 3000 of the second age Numenor under King Ar-Pharazôn and influenced by Sauron sailed to the west and started a war against the Valar which lead to the final destruction of Numenor. Elendir and his sons fled to middle earth an builded the realms gondor and arnor. So Elendil was never present/ alive at the time the rings were forged as shown in the series. And Saurons was morely brought as a prisoner of war to Numenor in the early 3000 of the second age and started influencing Ar-Pharazôn. Also the plot of Galandriels rebellion ist wrong placed in terms of time and consequences. Maybe i remembered it wrong, i dont know.

Is it really that different that Sauron disguised himself as something else and corrupted Celebrimbor so that he would make the three rings of power? I don't really think it is.

My only regret for the show, and I'm a huge Tolkien nerd, is they didn't show Ungoliant and Morgoth stealing the Light of the Trees in that intro. I hope that's because there will be more to this project, like maybe a Years of the Trees and First age spin off.

Rings of power is not Lord Of The Rings. That's first. Second is that Galadriel is made a main villain in this "show".

So I haven’t read the books and only saw the movies and TV show, but I have the intelligence to know the books have more detail and would take longer to get though! How come if you read the books first you can’t see it the other way?

As per The Silmarillion I’m pretty sure that despite Sauron teaching elvish smiths some stuff, Celebrimbor makes the 3 rings alone and this, along with the fact that Sauron doesn’t touch the rings or the material, diminishes his sway over them. Even this basic lore the show can’t get right, or feel the need to ignore, and instead makes a scene where a 1000 years old Elvish effing MASTER CRAFTSMAN has to get schooled in “Alloys 101 - What Are They And How Do They Work”.

So many changes to the original works that it feels like it would be way better to openly admit that this is fanfiction made into a series

The Lord of the Rings books by JRR Tolkien are masterpieces of English literature. The rings of power TV series is a complete insult. It is like they have wiped their collective asses with tolkien's writings.

I always thought it was a bit creepy her relationship with Elrond in the series. The Silmarillion makes it clear Elrond is Galadriel's son-in-law. Arwen of course being Galadriel's granddaughter.

Everything in this series is not Tolkien. Top 100 wouldn't even cover the discrepancies that the showrunners had done to the lore.

The first time I actually rooted for the Orcs. This series was a lesson in what NOT TO DO. The writing was horrible, the dialogues were hilariously stupid, the pacing was unacceptable, the characters were a joke and the regard for the lore was non-exisisting. I loved when the 1st Harfuck was killed by Eminem. That was the only payoff I got. I'd rather watch paint dry than another minute of this abomination. It should be illegal. It will go down on record as the "What not to do when producing a tv series" guide. And that's the only positive thing I can say about this horror. I'm glad it's over.

I had hoped that it would be a great series but it made me appreciate the hobbit movies as not a bad series of movies. Inexperienced writers made terrible mistakes in the series and adding characters was a mistake. It reminded me of bad 70s British series and a CW budget. For a series that has a big budget it looks cheap and horrible writing.
