Hope you enjoy this latest episode of animatronic malfunctions! If you’ve caught a fail or malfunction on camera you can submit your clips to www.tpmvids.com for a chance to have it featured in a future video!
It's quite a big building (three floors!) with an almost unlimited number of cat sized bolt holes for a nervous feline to duck into. Remember that the Disney cats aren't socialized, so they would have had to use a live trap.
My siblings, Dad and I used to huddle on the couch and watch your videos. My oldest sister isn’t really around anymore, but whenever I bring up this channel to my younger siblings they get quite happy! We’ve watched your channel ever since the parade fails, and it’s so nice to see how far you’ve come! I didn’t have a channel to subscribe to yours back then, but now I do! So of course, I’m subscribed now, and I’m just really happy to see your large following TPM! Thank you for the memories :)
I feel so bad for the Carousel of Progress. It was one of the attractions I was looking forward to seeing the most when visiting Disneyworld and it broke down. Broke my heart. Really hope it gets the refurb it deserves soon
“The bears aren’t supposed to be looking at the script on the ground, they are supposed to be off-book. I mean, they’ve only had 50 years to learn it!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
After what happened to Miss Deb Stone (RIP), I think everything basically got given soft edges and sides for whatever guests/castmembers were likely to touch.
@@emqtychxir What do you think happens when someone gets stuck between a solid wall that doesn't move and a solid wall of a rotating stage that does? People wondered if her screams were part of the show. Clearly I can't tell you properly because the robots won't like it. Google is free and it's been talked about here on YT XP
Omg the cat on the CoP made my day! I knew Disneyland had cats (I've seen a few) but I didn't know WDW had cats too!!! I also love that it's an orange cat, lol! Orange cats have no brain cells in the best possible way. They're all himbos and I love them dearly
3:10 is an accurate representation of my SPD whenever that many noises are happening🤣 He wasn’t malfunctioning, my mans was just processing all them nosies
2:40 i worked at hollywood studios for the college program in late 2021 and one of the cats, deemed the toy story cat (she stayed mostly in toy story land), had two kittens, and my god they were so adorable. she kept them by the tower of terror.

That cat surely was big fan of carousel of progress. Also that is amazing that you managed to catch the projector input blacking out. That audio animatronics control computer surely needs some maintenance
I think it's safe to say that this is my comfort channel. Every time I click on one of these videos and hear that classic "Welcome to TPM Vids Disney Beat, where we talk about all things Disney!", I feel so much calmer. Thanks TPM, I really appreciate these.
"The cat was taken to have a great big beautiful tomorrow" sounds like a disney press-release trying to say the cat was euthanized without saying it was.
Remember when Disney used to actually care about maintenance? It’s been quite a while, but you’d almost never see broken animations before Iger came in.
Oh, my GOSH, Sonny Eclipse was my frickin CHILDHOOD. My family and I always went there for lunch when we went to Disney and I would just stare at the animatronic almost the entire duration of lunch lol
im laughing idk if this was pun intended or not but at 4:01 when henry was up you said emBEARressed , "if i were him i couldn't BEAR the pressure" and bearier
Shuddering animatronics aren't always due to the animation software looping the same frame over and over. Sometimes a regulator can blow and a series of voltage pulses are sent to the motors instead of a smooth current. If the animatronic is otherwise moving properly despite the shakes, that's probably what happened.
IMO, the only reason the dwarves are known for being a better implementation of the projected-face technology is because they have beards. The real-world hair masks the hard line between the animated faces and the physical bodies. Conclusion: Anna & Elsa need beards...
I just want to Disney World for Christmas. All I see is most animatronics falling apart and roller coasters not fast enough. Probably the workers are too lazy to check before letting people in. They're going to lose their company if they don't fix it right.
Personally, I think projected faces, or ‘tv screen’ faces are really cool on animatronics, especially if it’s a major animatronic, because creating an actual moving face is way harder then just sculpting the face and having it as a pre animated screen. This is my personal opinion as someone who likes animatronics, it can work either way (Ignore my fnaf profile, I love Real animatronics more than I do fictional ones.)
Mr. Blue Bird there doing his best Sylvester Stallone impression. While Mr. Potato Head on the other hand is doing his best Woody from Toy Story 2 impression.
Disney actually keeps cats around the park, afair. So chances are the little fella is a Disney cat. No worries, all cats are spayed/neutered, and are up to date on shots. Kind of surprising more of them haven't gotten out lol. The cat is most likely doing fantastic though and is getting a good grub of vermin when they can catch them.
@@2doot he probably got hot and slipped in to cool of and got stuck. Either that, or he was trying to escape a park goer who was harassing him as not every park goer knows about the cats and/or knows to leave them alone
I feel like Carousel of Progress' animatronics need more than "some love." They need to be flat-out replaced. I mean, yeah, it would be sad to see the old ones go, but considering HOW old they are, it's only a matter of time before they stop working altogether.
2:45 if I was there with others who record this I would to sneak to audio-animatronic to get this cat away and then get back again to stand with others
Considering they have cats to keep unclean rodents out of the park, I think they accidently raised a rebel.....who rather be getting the spotlight instead of being hidden away also 7:28, that's insanely small, most 90 kids would remember the giant projectors they used for schools back then, and we thought *those* were small
I would love for Disney to shut down carousel of progress to fix the animatronics but at the same time not to because I feel like they will make some major changes
I seem to remember hearing they were going to do it up and change the last scene. With Tom Hanks voicing John. I remember wondering if it was true or not.
Disney needs to take better care of their animatronics. They seem to be breaking and looking in terrible condition a lot more in recent years. If they don’t do anything anytime soon all the park rides will end up looking like the last few months of splash mountain (RIP) I blame Chapek
I remember when I was at Disney world a couple years ago, we went on the pirates of Caribbean ride and it stopped right in the middle of some animatronics, and we had to sit there for at least 2 hours while the animatronics kept repeating themselves FOR 2 HOURS, to make matters worse my dad was sick (not terrible but still), but we did get a free fast pass
I remember riding on a ride (I don't remember if it was Splash Mountain or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad) one time when it broke down. We had to do an in-show exit, and when we asked a cast member about what was happening, the cast member responded with "when this ride was built, kids were lighter than they are now. So, the additional weight places strain on the system"
