@@Pikachu_on_percsDont just repeat things you see on the internet. Her having a significant arch doesnt mean tidus the protagonist isnt the main character. That's like saying Luke skywalker wasn't the main character it was darth vader. Bulma isnt the main character of dragonball because shes the one who recruits goku and actually wants to find the dragonball in the first place goku is.
Dragon Quest IX remake for the switch, anyone? Edit: Pure raging it wasn’t announced at the 35th anniversary livestream, but I haven’t given up hope!! Edit 2: Fellas I’m not actually throwing a fit, ‘Pure raging’ is hyperbole and also I am British. It’s slang from where I am 😆
Looking back at this video 2 years later, this video hasn't aged well. There's just too much mention of Dragon Quest Heroes 2 for (almost) every single entry.
Yeah, this is really Asended Super Shill level god mode central..... I recommend Sackchief, Mr. Gentleman and HappyConsoleGamer if you want something more genuine.
Sentinels of the Starry Skies will and always will be my favourite, it was beautiful, it was amazing, I cried, I laughed, and I’m still obsessed with it 💕
Yeah, sentinels is up there. DQ11 has the best story telling bar none. My daughters cried over the Mermaid story. Hell, I almost cried. Really tragic! And I think DG 12 is going to take the entire series to the next level.
DQ3 is the hardcore fan's favorite, which refined the systems introduced in DQ1 + 2. This is an extremely polished JRPG that probably had the strongest influence on the whole series. From what I gather, the popularity vote goes to DQ5, which is the FF7 of the Dragon Quest series. It perhaps has the most dramatic story of them all. DQ6 does nothing wrong and the content is huge, but as the final part of a trilogy, the novelty is gone. DQ4's chapter system is also very well received. DQ7 stands its own. I consider it fan service. It has so much content that it can be overwhelming for non-hardcore fans. But for those that just can't get enough of Dragon Quest, this is probably the title to spend the most time with. DQ8 was probably the most successful, though, but I think it's because for the first time Akira Toriyama's artwork really came to life in 3D. It's an incredible world to explore, with addicting music and lots of humor. Sadly I haven't played DQ9-11 (but 10 is more of a spin-off anyway). The most popular spin-off now seems to be Dragon Quest Builders. It adds the charm of Dragon Quest and its great music to Minecraft. The hack-and-slash titles DQ Heroes are ok too, but this video handles them enough.
let me fix that list for you for OP here. 10th: Dragon quest heroes: roc---buy Dragon quest heroes 2 9th: Dragon Quest IV - Buy Dragon quest heroes 2 8th: Dragon quest heroes 7th: Dragon Quest MOnsters: jok-- Buy Dragon QUEST HEROES 2~!~~~~~ etc.
I get it. You're sponsored by Square and they want you to convince people that Heroes 2 is worth playing, but did you really need to mention the game in EVERY SINGLE ENTRY?!?!?! Holy crap is it annoying. I love me some Dragon Quest, but the constant referencing back to Heroes 2 breaks the flow and makes the list feel less like you picked your favorites and more that you picked ones that have some form of reference in Heroes 2.
I'd point out that you could reference DQH2 from EVERY game given that it includes stuff from every game, so ad or not these are likely still his favorites since all of them can reference it.
Ryanmiller70 apparently youtube policies forces you to talk about the sponsored product the entire video, otherwise they accuse you of false advertising. I've seen youtubers complaining about it recently
So starting the video I was ready to jump to my boy Jirards defense. After the first couple references it seemed okay but now I'm 3/4 the way through and idk if I can finish. Jesus Christ it's so cringy every time he brings it up again. Dude we know.
yo not for nothin, but if this was that much of a gripe wit you ppl, then maybe you shoulda paid more attention at the beginnin when he said this is my favorites. my top ten. wtf didju think you were in for at that pt? masochism i guess, cos i'll never understand why instead of doin anythin else wit your time you'll sit through an "unpleasant" video just to bitch an moan at the end, when.... exactly what you anticipated happened? whats that sayin? insanity can be described as doin the same thin over an over an expectin a different result.
Dragon Quest is the jpg that made me want more of them all. I hate admitting it but I hunted a lot of these down. heros 1 & 2 are on my steam wish list. so no PS4 you have pc open too.
As much as I love FF, a lot, I hate when people forget about DQ. FF wouldn't exist without DQ and today they go hand in hand containing making great RPGs on both ends. And people also need to stop saying just Square instead of Square ENIX. That's like saying DQ doesn't even matter. It needs more love and respect.
As much as I want to cut you some slack for sponsored video, mentioning DQH2 every five seconds is akin to those suspicious reviews that mention cassino games for a small profit. I'm not sure were are you going with this.
It's not that. To Jirard's defense, the only part where he lies is the one where he says "square enix told to talk whathever I want", because you can feel that the DQH2 bits were added post production, as if he had shown the original video to them and heard "not enough merchandising" as response. I get that he ended trapped in the work and/or wouldn't want to let square-enix down, but a better disclosure would be fine.
How DARE he try to keep food on the table! HOW DARE HE!!! Nobody makes a living on my watch! Everyones a pauper or die! I get it, not everyone can get over sponsored videos. But the reality is they're a necessity in a post adpocalypse world for intermediate level channels like Jirards to continue to hire the multiple people it takes to make a show every week. You can watch them or not, but if you're going to watch one don't complain when it's an ad...after they told you it'd be an ad in the first ten seconds. And if you really enjoy Jirard chances are you can look past it to the meat of whats behind the video. Yes, the ad is there and mentioned several times, but we still get the list we came for in the first place.
Dragon quest IX has to be the best for me. This was the first true JRPG I ever played and I loved it. I have about 100 hours in it and even convinced my mum to buy a copy. She now has over 500 hours. She has revocated each job 10 times and has every non DLC clothing piece and has completed every quest including the DLC ones.
SquirtTurt i remember first getting it and just straight playing it without breaks for days, it was also my first jrpg or rpg in general and it has to be one of my favourite childhood games
OMG man I used to play DQ9 with my brother so many years ago. Sadly we was unable to use the old DS online features because of some compatibility issues but that doesn't matter if we miss out on some DLC. WE STILL ENJOYED THE GAME!
in all honesty, if a DQ game gets a 3DS remake, it has to be IX it's practically made for the 3DS from the online functions to the pseudo-streetpass system, it pioneered the mechanic, and it was a damn shame for the DS servers to close down because the free cameos from the past characters were amazing, and it always helped to have some certain items in stock from DQVC
Builders and Builders 2 found no problem in becoming my personal favorites, both of the Dragon Quest franchise, and in my ever-growing list in all-time.
Ninten Edgy Man DON’T GET HIM STARTED ON THAT A-FRIGGIN-GAIN, DAMMIT! I’ve heard enough DQH2 references in this video to last me a lifetime, and I haven’t even gotten to #5 yet as I type this!
Jesus Christ, most people just mention their sponsors at the beginning or at the end of the video... you mention it all through out the video. If I took a shot for every time you mention DQ Heroes II I'd be in a coma.
+1.21 Gigawatts It's because the deal wasn't to mention dragon quest heroes 2 similar to how one does with a Crunchyroll ad. But to make a video about dragon quest heroes 2. I think making it a part of a top 10 series for the video is much better (and financially smarter) than just making a gameplay video of the new game.
If I was subscribed, this would be the point where I'd unsubscribe. I know making a living on RU-vid has been rough since the adpocalypse, but Jesus dude, that doesn't mean you have to take every shifty-ass deal that comes your way.
+Moosh *"every shifty-ass deal that comes your way"* This sort of shows how little insight you actually have to this specific situation and sponsored content in general. He gets more offers than he could make use of every single week even if all he did was making sponsored content. He obviously takes the best he gets as intentionally taking a bad deal that harms his credibility (but gets him more money) is not in his interest. But yeah regarding the rest of what you said. You could also just go out of your way and only watch the videos that aren't sponsored, it wouldn't take much effort. Or as you say simply stop watching. When I say "you" I don't mean YOU but everyone reading this. I feel like there's a lot of anti-fans here that intentionally watch things they don't enjoy so that they can expose their negative energy onto somewhere.
I didn't mean literally every shifty deal. I know there's worse out there, but there's also plenty of sponsors that don't put conditions in the agreement that you have to bring up the product every 5 minutes. It harms the quality of the video, makes the script feel awkward and forced, and hurts the credibility of the channel more I feel than just doing a half hour video about the sponsored product. I'd much rather have a video that's 100% advertisement that I know to skip or one where the advertising is so subtle and subliminal I don't even notice it. Or a short plug for ScamCrate bookending the video. Basically anything that isn't this.
+Moosh Well, I already went into most of what you said. You should read my original comment that wasn't targeted at you that is in this thread. This video is supposed to be a sponsored video about dragon quest heroes 2. But instead of making a gameplay video about it that will get way less views he chose to incorporate it into a top 10 video that he likely would have done regardless at some points. This is very smart from a financial point of view. And it's not a malicious motivation to do it as he is not making ridiculous amounts of money from this. I personally think it feels quite natural as the promotion and the video share source material. And I'm able to tune out for the short moments that he talks about the new game as I would with micro ads throughout a sporting event etc. He was open with the fact that it was a sponsored video seconds into the thing. And he get's basically no money from views anymore so it's not clickbait either. Especially if a person only watches for a few seconds. Are you mad because he made you waste a few seconds watching the video to check if it was an ad? Ironically he probably wasted even more of your time and you likely went through the entire video even though you knew you wouldn't like it from the start.
I sunk in well over 220+ hours into my first playthrough of Dragon Quest VII back when it first came out for PS1. I didn't even make it to the bonus dungeons simply because I missed one Tiny Medal. Definitely was quite the journey for me!
This is way too much advertising. I appreciate talking about the games, but the ad bits kill the entire flow of the list, making me want to stop watching more and more.
inexperienced in what way? every now and then he makes a sponsored video, and every time, people bash him for not actually understanding how sponsored videos work.
The DQH2 shilling was as subtle as a fucking brick, wow. Like... Couldn't just leave it at the start/end, had to AGGRESSIVELY push it through the entire list? Also 8 is best because of Yangus alone fucking fight me
Or just like, make a separate Dragon Quest Heroes 2 review and make a list of top 10 main DQ games. No hate, but like if after every entry there's a mention of the sponsored product, just make a 15 or 20 minute video covering said product. This is like saying ----- top 10 Coca Cola Products, sponsored by NEW COKE! Number 10 Cherry Coke, really good reminds me of NEW COKE! Number 9 Vanilla Coke, niche product but delicious, just like NEW COKE! ----
I hope that's a joke, there's no way Dragon Quest 5 is better than DQ8 or DQ11 in any way, not in story, not in gameplay, not in sidequests, nothing on it is better.
@MarioPeloful It is better than those two, ESPECIALLY in story. It's a brilliant "coming of age" - story. And it doesn't shove very heavy handed huge character backstories down your throat, because you are there when the backstory happens! But maybe you will understand that once you are a little older.
Ive played 8, 9 and 11 and for me the best is 8 no doubts but im currently into dq5 on ds and its freakin awesome, Im just in love with this game dont know of when Im finishing it Im gonna have the same feeling but at 6hours of gameplay I have its just awesome I swear, u cant compare dq11 or 8 to this one, thats a retard argument as every of these ones are on different platforms, is diablo 3 better than 2 or even 1? Is dq11 better than 8 only by graphics? Ppl who think that way may need to rethink twice cause thats only bullshit
While this entire series is nearly flawless, none can match the caliber of the magnum opus of the series: Dragon Quest V. The story is touching, and everything from the graphics to the music perfectly compliments the plot. I just love it!
Dragon Quest 7 is the most nostalgic game of my childhood. My parents were separated and every weekend i'd visit my dad and we get a bit further in it. I had the prima guide and I tried to memorize all the different items in the game. And I hate the fact DQ has been less successful in the west, cause I'd have all of them 3 times over
Dragon Quest 5 ds will always be my absolute favorite. The story was one amazing roller coaster ride. You got to experience a young boy have his father die and get enslaved. Turn into a teenager, then into a man and get married, then become a king and then have kids. What other game can you say that you, your wife and kids and pet saber tooth tiger teamed up together to save the world from evil? Also Bianca is best girl ;) and she is a monster in heroes. Also Empire strikes back is better then return of the jedi, just sayin.
I think what my favorite part of Dragon Quest V is being able to go back to places over each time period. Seeing what happened with the location, how characters are holding up, and what has changed. Plus, the party chat option is amazing and I love using it to hear every character's thought on everything that happens.
Okay but imagine: 9, with all the no longer available features and downloadable content, a new online multi-player modus, looking as good as 11 does and having full voice overs, especially for Stella.
Pretty sure DQ9 was one of the games that people have set up on the emulated Nintendo Wifi thing. Remember reading something like that when I was playing through it on emulator and cheated in that No longer available content (Then got really depressed that the people behind it also made fantasy life and decided to make the sequel to that a japan exclusive mobile only micro transaction filled game)
Ash Cole I didn't actually use magic burst that much because at full mp it's cap was about 1500 damage, and at high level grottos with high level characters, the mp is better used elsewhere. (healing, kazammle)
Wade Schipprack - you mean the red mage, they were a mashup of the Warrior, White and Black Mages, so 5 classes? Well if THAT'S your point, then the Hero from dragon quest 3 is JUST a mashup of the Soldier, Cleric and Mage classes, and the Sage is JUST a mashup of the Cleric and Mage jobs! (just pointing out the flaw in your personal argument, lol. i LOVE both games(ff1 & dq3))
Dragon Quest IX on release with the online systems, magical grotto hunting, and seemingly endless end-game content: sterling whistle, multiplayer, trading, extensive alchemy. Man, that game was a masterpiece.
I'm a big fan of this game, much like I'm a fan of DRAGON QUEST HEROES II, it had revolutionary graphics for it's time, much like DRAGON QUEST HEROES II. The gameplay has a really unique aspect which the also have in DRAGON QUEST HEROES II, which is really good by the way. The characters are good but better in DRAGON QUEST HEROES II, because DRAGON QUEST HEROES II is the best game since DRAGON QUEST HEROES. This game is sor-DRAGON QUEST HEROES II. DRAGON QUEST HEROES II. DRAGON QUEST HEROES II. Jesus, Jirard. A bit much. xD I don't mind sponsored videos and I understand you probably have a quota. But you said DRAGON QUEST HEROES II so much it basically became a meme.
Torqegood I find it hilarious how a lot of actual characters in the game become playable ONLY if you connect to the internet to get their respective quests and ONLY after you finish the game. Seems like Square Enix giving all the haters a middle finger lmao
+Jedy Zitchterman- I hated the aspect of the optional quests only being accessible online as well, as I missed almost all of them, but it was still one of the best games in the series. Each of the episodic plot segments in the game felt satisfying, and the game play was fantastic, specifically alchemy and the post game treasure map. I would love it to have a 3ds remake, as I could get a chance to play the extra content I missed, and also, perhaps see a resolution to the almighty being split into ten pieces, as the game implies as much.
@@saifuusuri a lot of people did. Black belts were great cause you never needed to buy them weapons and I think they also did more damage too. Red mages allowed you to be more flexible with your party. Having 6 classes allowed you to experiment and play around with different combinations.
@EX7Sonic in Final Fantasy 1 you had to choose four out of six classes and upgrade them later, while in Dragon Quest 3 you could make party members with all the classes and swap them out when you needed them.
Man, I need to try out a Dragon Quest game one of these days... one that isn't Fortune Street EDIT: I bought and am playing Dragon Quest IX, and it's super fun Double Edit: Dragon Quest Builders is dope
I'm currently playing through the NES version of Dragon Quest III, and I highly recommend it! It has a very fun, addictive quality to it, and being able to play as Erdrick is awesome.
For Christ's sake I know that your getting paid for this but can you stop talking about Dragon Quest Heroes 2 for two minutes and focus on the actual games for each entry. Seriously the way that he keeps going back to promoting DQH2 in the middle of each entry is completely undignified.
I'll be honest with you, Jirard. I love your Top 10s. I really do. Most of them, if not all of them, are among my most favorite videos of yours. However, this is by far the weakest Top 10 you've made so far. The subject itself isn't what's wrong about it. I may not be a Dragon Quest fan myself, due to the fact I've never played a single DQ game myself, but it's always interesting to see which installments of one franchise in particular are among one individual's favorites. However, the fact you constantly felt the need to talk about DQ Heroes II over and over with almost every entry on this list was REALLY annoying. I get it's a sponsored video made to promote this game and that's fine. But you should have found a better way to include the promotionial aspect of it. The AVGN recently made a video about Sonic '06 sponsored by Full Sail University. But guess what? He didn't constantly bring up Full Sail University once every three minutes during that video! If I were you, I would have simply talked about DQ Heroes II at the very beginning of the video and at the very end of it, while letting the Top 10 itself have the time to breath without being slowed down by DQHII over and over. I wish someone would edit this video to remove every single instance of you mentioning that game during said Top 10. Sorry, Jirard. I've rarely done this, but I'm REALLY tempted to give you a thumbs down for that video. You BETTER not do something similar the next time you make a Top 10.
I DID give a thumbs down. I couldn't even finish the video. Just mention DQH2 at the beginning and end instead of ruining what could've been an interesting list to a DQ fan.
Honestly, having played all of these (grew up on Dragon Warrior, and DW4 was one of my first RPGs with Final Fantasy and Legend of Zelda), I would place my list as: 10. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 9. Dragon Quest Builders 8. Dragon Quest 7 7. Dragon Quest 9 6. Dragon Quest Heroes 5. Dragon Quest 8 4. Dragon Quest 3 3. Dragon Quest Heroes 2 2. Dragon Quest 4 1. Dragon Quest 5
I still remember showing up at a Dragon Quest IX event at my local game shop. It was the first time I would attend such a thing, and it was just such a blast. We were a bunch of people too, surprisingly, and they had some merch for everyone. Too bad there wasn't more people in my area playing this game. I remember it was such a huge thing in Japan when it first came out, everybody hanging out together in the streets, playing the game in coop.
I have only played 3 DQ games... DQ8, DQ9, DQ Heroes. I have to say, out of these 3, My favorite has to be DQ8. DQ 8 was the first DQ game I've played so it has place deep in my heart. DQ 8's Music was so beautifully done that when I hear it now, I feel the nostalgia from my time as a 9 year old with his PS2. The story was like no other game I've played before. I was engulfed in the story wanting to find the next objective and chasing after the villain of the story. *Skip paragraph 2! Major spoilers!* I remember meeting Dhoulmagus and thinking, " How am I supposed to beat that!" But as I chase after him, getting stronger and stronger, It truly made me believe more that I am a match for him. This concept made me feel antsy because every time I got stronger or got better gear, it made me want to fight Dhoulmagus even more, rather than fear him. This made me truly want to test my strength with Dhoulmagus. The same Villain who I feared was a god back when I was lv. 1. Once beating him and finding out about the true boss in control of everything and killing him too, It clearly made me feel accomplished. I avenged everyone and stopped him. A great feeling to end the game! (until the dragovian trials) The voice acting was well done! Everyone I met in my journey had spectacular voice acting that presented their character. For example, Yangus the Bandit. Now, You have to admit that voice acting was spot on and fits him. I can go on with many other characters in the series but in my opinion, Yangus had the best voice acting that fit so well with his character and personality. For a PS2, the graphics at that time to now still blows me away. Though everything is not as detailed as games nowadays, I have to give the creators my respect. The scenery was majestic. Climbing mountains or hills, walking on high paths, traveling almost everywhere! It felt so good to stop your tracks and just take in all the beautiful scenery at a high or low view. There is so much for me to talk about in DQ8 but I feel like I typed too much lol. I bet some people only read the first couple sentence because of how long this is. I'm 18 now, and to conclude this comment, I *love* the Dragon Quest series and I would love to play DQ8 all over again and relive the whole experience in the same way again! (Or in a new way)
Rob Eldridge In all seriousness I didn't pick Nera because I felt bad for her "boyfriend"who nearly died trying to win the ring for the woman he loved, and the idea of stealing another mans woman just didn't feel right to me.
I got through the original Dragon Quest recently. The amount of times I felt the need to look up a guide hurt me deeply. I started Dragon Quest II and my life was pain. The worst part is having to pay to revive party members after you were already wiped out and lost half your money.
Indeed, 2 could be downright brutal. But that perspective probably comes from my unusual play order. I played part of 1 on a friend's NES, then part of 3 on a PC emulator... THEN got the GBA versions of 1/2 and 3. So having already played 1 and 3, where the MC is strong in nearly every aspect, I was floored when the MC in 2 was a Muggle! The hero MC not having ANY magic whatsoever (MCs in RPGs almost always do, at least some basic healing magic!) I originally thought to be a serious oversight. I now realize that the game was carefully crafted to make you ride the struggle bus until and unless you had all three party members active, leveled up, and well equipped. It wasn't just the emotional impact, but the sudden drastic increase in combat difficulty when you temporarily lose the Prince of Cannock partway through the endgame (leaving you with only the Muggle tank hero and the glass cannon Princess of Moonbrooke) that really drove this point home for me. (You might not feel this as much if you have a Leaf of the World Tree on you at the time... lucky dog.) DQ3, where you could add a 4th member to your party, and customize your party however you wished, definitely had a much more tactical aspect... but DQ2 was about working within the limitations placed upon you. I think that's one of the great things about this series... they have a lot of similarities - consistent art style, rehashed and reskinned enemies, but they never play quite the same way because the party composition is always different.
Roberto Berríos Dragon quest builders was really good! I also played it until I got the plat. And then did another playthrough just because I liked it.
One thing I especially love about Dragon Quest IX is the fact that, if you have enough imagination, you can pretty much make your own narrative for your main character and their party members. For example, in my recent second playthrough, it was the story of Six, a small Celestrian girl who journeys through the Protectorate with her companions, Kumoko, Ghost, and Bonnie, all while coming to terms with the fact that her entire life as a Celestrian is crumbling around her, and how she has to move on from it.
Dragon Quest IX is my favourite in the whole series, up there with III, so to see them at the top two makes me so happy! I love the full character customisation in IX. You should do a completionist video on it! :o
It is impossible to 100% it unless you cheat, due to exclusive cosmetics that are available during seasons and events that you can't participate in anymore I'm glad I played this game when it first came out so I could get everything
I adore each and every one of the Dragon Quest Monsters games and have happily played as many as I can. And yes, the breeding or fusion or whatever you want to call it is indeed the best part of the game.
Also did this video remind anyone of Idiocracy? "I'm the Secretary of State. Brought to you by Carl's Jr." "Why do you keep saying that?" "Because they pay me every time I do! It's a really good way to make money."
"Dragon Quest III - The Seeds of Salvation" was my favourite due to the job system, first Dragon Quest game to have an underworld component like Alefgard, first game to have day and night sequences, and the origins of Erdrick. It was also the first JRPG to be a prequel as its held about 100 years before the events of Dragon Quest. "Dragon Quest V - Hand of the Heavenly Bride" was also excellent as you can recruit monsters to fight in battle, and it was the first Dragon Quest where your main character is not a Legendary Hero. I didn't like Dragon Quest 9 too much as you only have one save slot as opposed to two or three, which left you vulnerable to losing data or missing important quest items.
you should play one piece unlimited adventure its a fairly hard game to complete, and if you really want a challenge you should play unlimited cruise .
That is so many hours of competition time! It would be great to see more jrpg completions though. I'm quite surprised that he did Persona 5 because that game is huge and I did main story with some extras.
"Dragon Quest 1 only takes a few hours to complete." Ha! That was a good joke you made there Jirard! Next you're gonna be telling me you liked Yooka-Laylee! Oh wait...
thank you man, this shed a lot of light on which i should focus on. as an avid, dynasty warriors afficianado, i was pleased to hear that heroes 2 still retains the dragon quest elements to feel like a dq game. i'll defnitely check it out. maybe one day ill have time for 4,5, & 8.
This is a great video for newcomers to the Dragon Quest games! The fact that you included spin-offs is something I really respect, and you made a point to talk about how each entry differentiates itself from the others
It really is the best one. That huge world was awesome and felt complete, and the characters were fully fleshed out and had personality (even the silent protagonist somehow). The symphonic music is the best in the series, even better fidelity than DQ 11 due to it being a full orchestra. There is such an incredible amount of content, even post game, that it rivals Western RPGs in length, while still having a cohesive story, unlike most Western RPGs. It's one of the best RPGs of the generation, I need to replay it soon.
I agree %100 with your top pick. Dragon quest 3 for the gbc was one of the first games i remember preordering and just knowing I had to have it. I am a bit sad though you left out dragon quest monsters 2. It might not have been the best game in the series, but the whole premise of the first 2 monsters and the world they built just left me wanting to see more of the other tree kingdoms, and eventually running into terry in 2 was one of my favorite moments in the series.
Hey dude, loved the countdown, and I'm ecstatic that your #1 was my favorite RPG of all time. Gotta say though dragon warrior/quest monsters 1 is my hardcore pick over pokemon. I've wanted a remake of that -so- badly for years, even tried finding romhacking tools to do it, but alas, my tech skills are not good enough.Forget all the DQH2 hate going around, it's apparent to me that your little asides come from a place of love and not sponsorship. Keep doing you, man.
@26:42 "Final Fantasy has only 4 classes compared to Dragon Quest III's 8 classes." The first Final Fantasy had 6 classes. That's not even counting the evolutions of the classes, which technically bring the total classes in the very first game to 12.
When I was a wee tyke, I "worked" for a guy my father knew who owned a little second hand store. Basically, my job was to test the video games that came in to make sure they worked properly. I only made about $5 a week, but the cool thing was if I liked a game, I could buy it half off what the owner would ask for it. One day, I was going through a box of games that wad brought in and there it was, Dragon Warrior for the NES. It blew my little mind! Needless to say, I bought it. Total life changer. Since then, I've played every core game and a few of the side games. Even buying them when others thought it was stupid to like when 7 and 8 came out. Dragon Quest has always had a special place in my heart.
